I used to always purchase the Samsung brand because I didn't want to take a chance on water filters which are important to me and my family. I was forced to change when vendors would not ship the Samsung filter to Hawaii any longer. Well, I can't thank them enough for forcing me to try an alternative that is just as good, in terms of fit and taste, as the brand name filter. Samsung says that you shouldn't use other filters because they may "may damage your fridge and water filter housing, or break off and leave pieces of the filter inside". The ICEPURE fit my fridge perfectly. Samsung says that they use a high-grade carbon block that removes over 99.9% of the harmful contaminants present in your water. ICEPURE is in the business of making water filters. These particular water filters are NSF 42 and 372 certified. NSF 42 means that filters are certified to reduce aesthetic impurities such as chlorine and taste/odor. NSF 372 establishes a limit on the amount of lead that may be contained within the filter (the filter itself is "lead free"). ICEPURE also makes a pro version with additional certifications that remove impurities (e.g., lead, benzene, and fluorinated organic compounds) from your water supply. I couldn't find any information on NSF certifications for the Samsung brand on their website, although NSF is stamped on the label. I didn't have my old Samsung box any longer so maybe someone may know more for comparative purposes. The bottom line is that if you want to trust someone, you trust a third-party to certify their product. ICEPURE has taken the time to achieve NSF certifications which requires regular testing. The water tastes good and they are a cost effective alternative to Samsung.

Lightening fast shipping, great packaging and a perfect fit too! Replacement of the previous water filter was as easy as the simple twist of the wrist as it is 100% compatible and leak free. I followed the instructions to help rinse and prepare the filter for use and the water being dispensed is odor free and tastes great. I will purchase this again in the future as needed and easily recommend the filters to friends and family.

Good fit, works well. Great replacement for the original equipment especially since Samsung filter is no longer available. The cost is considerably less than the original Samsung filter.

There are apparently many people who are in the same boat of having Samsung's supposed "DA29-00003G" model filter suddenly stop fitting in their refrigerator. My fridge has always used that Samsung filter, and I had reordered the same exact item 4 times from Amazon...until it suddenly was impossible to screw in. The reason is because the plastic tabs at the top of the current iteration of the "Samsung DA29-00003G" filter are configured differently than the old one. Why they would call it the same part number is beyond me... So I tried looking in a bunch of listings on here for tabs that seemed similar to my *previous* iteration of DA29-00003G filter...and for some reason most of the 3rd party (i.e. Chinese) filters don't clearly show the tab configuration. I tried a different brand that did not work, before finally arriving at this "ICEPURE" filter -- and it fits great! The taste is frankly indiscernible from my prior Samsung ones -- though I understand from reading other reviews from more knowledgable people when I was researching a replacement that this ICEPURE filter does not filter out some types of contaminants that the Samsung one does. For me, since I am in a major metropolitan city, that was not of particular concern to me since I have to assume that the water treatment is pretty top-notch at the municipal level. My main concern was finding a filter that actually FITS my fridge -- which this one does fantastically...and also costs around 1/3 the price as the Samsung!

Works well. No leaks. Water tastes good. Really pleased and will certainly buy more as we finish the current box of three. Recommended for a Samsung model RSG5UCRS
