Awesomeness
Everything about it very good product.Easy to install and operate. Now my review from a woman's point of view:First and foremost I want to point out the amazing job my husband did on the install! Now onto the actual product, we should have bought this system years ago!!! We have well water where we stay and it is incredible how this compact system changes the quality of water in our RV. There is no odd smell anymore, my skin and hair are softer, I don't have to use as much soap, shampoo or conditioner and doing laundry and the dishes doesn't require as much either! It is an absolutely great system and I'm so glad we finally added one to our RV!

Works better than description
Great product definitely works I live in my rv 5days a week and this definitely softens your water. Make a ton of lather from your soap and soap last longer feel cleaner no water spots it’s a win win. Reactivating is easy

Use Teflon tape.
Easy install. Works as it should.Notible difference from very hard water to soft.Well worth the purchase price.

Easy setup, works as described, one minor flaw
Great water softener for a decent price. The reason it did not get five stars is the fact that they did not include any carry handle for the softener which makes it a bit more tedious to set it up with our RV. It seems that finding just a handle isn't all that simple, either, and, since it is a bit on the heavier side of the equation, I need to find a better/easier way to carry it around.

Love it
My girlfriend and I moved out to the country. The water was extremely hard causing our skin to dry out and it was hel on her hair. Moving forward. Saw this on Amazon. Awesome price , great review. Got I in. Super easy install. Pic is the way I got it now but will mount it on plywood and plum it with 3/4 PVC for a permanent condition. Water is now great and we are happy. I would recommend this kit with the filter as opposed to the tank itself as you can recharge the system by draining the filter and adding salt as directed. Definitely use shut off valves before and after unit and some form of union of disconnect for servicing.

works great/just heavy unit
followed directions on prepping the tank by flushing it out from the manufacturer and easy hookup to rv. water is now just right and feels good..just be prepared for this unit is heavy......good idea is to hook up a in line water meter to keep track of the gallons being used to determine when to recharge the tank...

This Water Softener Is Totally Useless For Even Medium Hard Water!
Filtering out PPM (Parts Per Million) of hard water particles, or as water softeners are rated, GPG (Gains Per Gallon) with my 500 PPM hard water = 294 G/gal. Therefore, this unit’s 16,000 G capacity ÷ 294 G/gal = 54 Gallons of capacity before regeneration. At my modest single-user consumption of water of 33G/day = 1.6 Days before a regen is necessary! This is PATENTLY UNACCEPTABLE!OK, how many days will this unit go before a regen, up to the "Hard Water" rating of 10 G/gal? Let's do the math: 16,000 G capacity ÷ 10 G/gal = 1600 Gallons of capacity before regeneration. At my modest single-user consumption of water of 33G/day = 48 Days before a regen is necessary, or 24 Days for two people. This would be workable, although an inconvience to regenerate every 3 weeks …Unfortunately, travelers, especially near a lake or stream will certainly fall into the "Very Hard" water category. Let's say only half the hardness of my mountain water, or 250 PPM. 250 PPM hard water = 147 G/gal. With this unit’s 16,000 G capacity ÷ 147 G/gal = 108 Gallons of capacity before regeneration. With a dual-user consumption of water of 66 G/day = 2.2 Days before a regen is necessary! And THAT'S UNACCEPTABLE!If you have to hook-up to anything but virtually pure water you'll need a whole-house, true, water softener, which is non-transportable, and with a minimum price of $1,400, or more, for 2 or more people! For Your Reference – Generic Water DataGrains Per Gallon PPM ClassificationLess Than 1 GPG Less Than 17.1 PPM Soft Water1 Thru 3.5 GPG 17.1 Thru 60 PPM Slightly Hard Water3.5 Thru 7 GPG 60 Thru 120 PPM Moderately Hard Water7 Thru 10 GPG 120 Thru 180 PPM Hard WaterOver 10 GPG Over 180 PPM Very Hard Water
