It comes with all the pieces (around 150 or so from what I counted), clear instructions, and teaches real principles of engineering, like how fluid pressure can control movements for gripping, lifting, and rotating objects. The build took us about 2-3 hours, which was a great bonding activity. Once assembled, the hand works surprisingly well: it can pick up small items like blocks or balls, and the controls feel responsive with the syringes pushing water through the tubes. My nephew loved experimenting with it, and it sparked some cool discussions about robotics and mechanics. It's made from sturdy plastic parts, suitable for ages 8-12, and emphasizes hands-on STEM learning without screens. That said, it's not perfect—hence the 4 stars. Filling the hydraulic system with water was a bit messy; we had a couple of small leaks at the connections that required re-tightening, and the tubes were tricky to attach without introducing air bubbles, which affected performance until we reprimed them. This was an absolute blast to put together in a wonderful family activity! The instructions were clear and the pieces were very good quality. And prevent it just enough of a challenge for my boys to keep them engaged and excited about the final product. Once it was put together it functions very well and was so much fun to use. Overall I'd say this was a great time from start to assembled and beyond with playing with it daily!
