Without my asking for a refund the company Lnauy read the review and issued a refund. I want to thank them for being proactive and being thoughtful of my experience. I really wanted to like this docking coaster as a replacement for my Nextmug, but the quality simply isn't there. The most recent one completely stopped working in less than 60 days. It no longer provides power to the mug, and the charging pins seem to be the weak point. For a $25 charging base, I expected it to last much longer than a couple of months. It’s a shame because it fits the mug well and worked fine initially, but I cannot recommend a product that requires constant replacement. Save your money and look for a more durable alternative.

Works great!

Santa brought my gamer husband a Nextmug for Christmas and he loves it. He keeps the charging base on the table beside his gaming chair. That charging base has been in use nearly nonstop since Christmas. When I saw this replacement charging docking coaster I was thrilled. If the first one wears out from overuse, he could have a replacement available. So I was quick to order it. When I opened the package up I was a little concerned because this one is not exactly like the original, but we decided to test it out to be sure it would work. The charging base seems well made and durable. It was easy to set up. The plug that fits into the charger is a bit snug, but I guess that just guarantees that the cord will not fall out easily. My husband's Nextmug fit perfectly on the docking coaster and began to charge immediately. We are very satisfied with this purchase. My husband says now he can have a charger by his TV chair as well as his gaming chair so he doesn’t need to move the original one around.

What's annoying about this mug heater is that it doesn't come with a mug. I thought it was a set with a mug based on the picture. I should have read the description more closely. So it’s my fault, really. You have to buy a compatible Nextmug to use this. So I guess I'll be ordering that. To test this model, I took it to work and visited a coworker who has one of these mugs. I let her borrow it all afternoon, and at the end of the day she said the unit kept her hot chocolate perfectly warm. So obviously it's not just for coffee or tea. It charges your mug no matter the beverage. The unit is sleek and silvery, and doesn't take up much space on a desktop. It basically takes no more space than a coaster. It helps to have a power strip nearby, which I have at my work computer. It looks like it will last. As you can see from the picture, there are basically two parts that you get the heating coaster and the power unit. There is also an instruction manual.

Perfect as a back-up charger for the Nextmug. As someone who's busy and always has to reheat coffee, it's always nice to have a back up charger to have one at work and one at home, or have two for separate rooms of the house. This is a good value for the money if you need a replacement, or it's perfect for travel while you leave your other one at home.

I got a Nextmug for Christmas and am so psyched to have another docking coaster for it. The mug’s charge doesn’t last as long as I’d hoped so being able to have a coaster in the living room and on my desk is super helpful. I haven’t had any problems using it and aside from the Nextmug branding this one looks just like the one that came with my mug. The coaster seems to be made of good quality materials and I love that it has a long cord. I’m also pleased I don’t have to sacrifice one of my own charging bricks to use this. So far this works just as well as the Nextmug charger and I’m very pleased to have a second coaster so my mug doesn’t run out of charge. I think $28.99 is a fair price for this and I would definitely recommend this for a second coaster or a backup.
