Great sticks, packable and very good price.
I have used my Tri-Fold sticks several times now and compare them equal to a much more expensive pair I recently bought for my husband, and have used myself many times. They are light and small enoug to fit in not only my carry-on suitcase, but my day hiking pack as well. I usually hike with only one stick and always use it for the very steep downhills. I've tested this stick many times with my full weight (which is only about 125) and the pole has never collapsed. Make sure you put them together correctly and tighten the upper screw, for which, by the way, you do not need a screw driver; they have a finger-friendly covering on the screw top to make it painless and easy, especially if you tighten on the trail (like I did as I forgot to tighten it before my first use). Bonus is they come with removeavle rubber tips for packing or hiking slick rock and a cool carry case in which to pack your sticks if dirty or muddy. A great product and value and have already recommended them to hiking friends.

Excellent product. My wife and I each have a ...
Excellent product. My wife and I each have a set. We recently used them on a hike up to Sahale Arm in the Cascades. 12 mile total round trip hike. They fold up very compact and fit in our regular backpacks. They are also very light, so they don't add much weight when in your pack, and are light on the arms when using them during a hike. When unfolded, the three components snap together easily, but sturdily. I used them during the last half of the hike up when it got steeper, and all 6 miles down. I was comfortable putting my weight down on them, especially on the decent. The hand grips are comfortable, too. Adjusting them was easy, and once adjusted they stayed put. Folding them back up was easy as well and they slip nicely back into their carrying case. Also note that you aren't allowed to bring poles in carry-on luggage on planes, however, these poles fold down small enough to fit into even a compact/small suitcase. Other brands of poles were upwards of 29" when folded and were too big to fit into our suitcases. My wife actually has this set of poles (100-120cm) as she's 4'10. I am 6'2" and have the 115-135cm model.

Perfect trekking poles
I love these trekking poles. I got them to go to India in January 2017 because the tour will have steep steps with no handrails. The assembly and folding up the poles are both quick and easy. This will be good on tour because I do not want to hold up the group while I try to set up the poles. They fit nicely in a small suitcase perfect for travel. They are sturdy, yet light weight. I have been practicing getting up and down off ledges, stone retaining walls, chairs, and other furniture I will be prepared for the steep steps. I like them so much I plan to take up hiking. Thank you for a great product.PS I tried some poles in a brick and mortar store. They took much longer to assemble, and disassemble, were heavier, and were two and a half times more expensive.

and was truly amazed at their construction
These poles are really outstanding in design and construction. Ive owned many sets of pole over the years [which i still have and use] but i was intrigued by these so i bought a set...and was truly amazed at their construction. For the cost these poles are completely worth it in every way. They are w/out a doubt the set i will travel with on my trips to Japan. These poles fold down to a very small profile fit into a corner of my back pack ready for use.

Too long for shorty but thanks to the extended hand hold, it may work
The shorter version is still too long (at the shortest length) for anyone shorter than 5'2". If the uphill is too steep, it will hinder the user. Limited length adjustment is the universal drawback of collapsible poles. The pull out locking poles are much more flexible with length adjustment. The manufacturer put an extended foam hand hold below the regular hand hold. If you extend the write loop to its longest to stablize your wrists, you will be able to make it work somehow. If you are going to do real hikes or backpacking with steep ascent and descent, these poles will be too light weight.Anyhow, I bought these poles for light duty trekking (in case I need a pole situation) and for carryon luggage. The regular poles are mostly 23" at the shortest, too long even when put in the luggage diagonally (16 to 21 tall roller luggage). These at 15" long are perfect to be in a day pack to luggage. To get a better grip at the extended hand hold, wear hiking gloves.

Try. You can't lose.
My first impression: "One pole can be adjusted. The other one simply falls apart."I must amend to say the company support is excellent. I received multiple emails in an effort to help me adjust the second pole. The problem seems to be a stuck locking mechanism for the white section that inserts into the handle. There were little black marks on that section when I finally got it to click, meaning it was fully extended and locked. After that, the bottom two sections also stayed together nicely. I'd suggest you should not be afraid to try these poles because the company seems solidly helpful. You won't lose anything by trying--except, like me, feeling panicky because I need these poles in 3 days! I'll know whether or not I like the poles after the trip, but this review is to say that I will at least be able to have two poles.

Sturdy, light, easy to assemble & break down!
I'd never used hiking poles before, but my aging knees were in need of help during a recent trip out west. These poles were sturdy, but light. Easy to pack. Quick to assemble and break down on the trail.I watched a few YouTube videos to get the hang of exactly how to use hiking poles -- something I highly recommend.I'll never hike without poles again, and I expect I'll be using these for a long time to come!

Perfect fit and easy to use
I ordered these poles because my old Treks won't fit easily in my suitcase. I am so glad I did. They collapse to a perfect length, are easy to assemble, and, most importantly, are very sturdy despite being so light. I used them to keep myself from pitching down various trails and ruins in Guatemala and they were perfect. Also, the length is very easy to adjust. I can compare them to both Trek and Black Diamond and say that at half(or less) the price, they are a bargain. Don't know how long they will last or if they would hold up to more serious hikers or heavier person. Highly recommend.
