Works as intended (I think)
I make 2 backups of my PC every week -- one goes on this drive. I carry it with me. The other goes on another drive and I keep it in a safe. I'm limited in what I can say about the drive because I've never had to use it to recover.

So far so good, highly recommend
I have had this for about 2 months and everything has been smooth with it. It's small and light so won't take up much space if you need to carry it around. I have an older laptop (PC) and it works well with it. I just plugged it into my laptop and was easily able to drag and drop the files into it. Highly recommend!

Happy w/ product
This external hard drive was easy to hook up and does not take up much space. It is also attractive. As yet I've not had a need to extract info from the device but can tell when I am doing a backup that it is working. Glad I purchased this product.

Good quality hard drive
The look and feel of the drive is great. I was not able to install the pre installed applications to use the password neither was i able to find it online. No sure the issue but be aware of that if you plan on using it for password protection. I purchased this one because it was Type C to Type C.

I like usb-C to usb-C cable with usb-A adapten
Very slick design and I like usb-C to usb-C cable with usb-A adapten which Seagate didn’t provide and complicated micro-B complicated cable design for same 1TB HDD And Customer Support is better with WD. I have returned both 1TB seagate hdds drives and replaced them w WD ones And more satisfied now. That’s my experience anyway …. Thx

Would purchase this again
Slick item. Works well out of the box. Nice to have a compact backup unit. Redundant backups are a part of life and IMO having complete control over one set is a necessity. This item was easy to use so I didn’t need to contact technical support and gave 5 stars because I didn’t need to contact them.

Works BUT
It does the job but slowly. Also do not get the metal one it is not worth the price increase. There all plastic including the so called metal one. One side is metal but on the other side is plastic it is only 50% metal casing around the hard drive. WD cheated by doing this. I is NOT worth returning but like I said it does the job.
