This comes in a nice box, tissue wrapped inside. The finish is flawless. It has a divider inside for the smaller items which is holds plenty. That lifts to reveal a larger compartment. The music and little dancer is beautiful and high quality. Unless my child does anything too crazy with it, I’m sure it will last for a very long time. This is leaps and bounds better than all the others that are merely cardboard nowadays. They should make a larger one if they don’t already. I love the nostalgia and genuinely elegant princess feeling you get from this item. It made for an amazing 6th birthday present!100% something you would love to give and receive as a gift. It’s a real showstopper.

Unlike the other reviewers, I did not purchase this item for a little girl. I picked it out for myself (a 20 year old female) for Christmas. I wanted something delightfully child-like, girly, and classic. This definitely fit the bill. I think the shiny metal-appearance outside makes it look elegant, expensive, and in a way grown up. My box had no defects upon arrival (and still hasn't any), it plays Für Elise just as the descriptions says it does. The music plays without any interruption, and I was relieved to know that when you close the lid mid-spin it does stop playing music as every music box should. The soft pink interior is for lack of a better word very cute. The ballerina itself is kind of cheap– personally I think the overall appearance would be 10 x more elegant if the ballerina were metal, but she's beautiful nonetheless.The jewelry box seems to be quite durable, but the outside is no doubt going to get scratched because of the material it's made out of. If that's a concern I'd likely go for something wooden or plastic.Overall I think it was worth the 30 bucks spent on it, and I think it fits any age group depending on the type of music box you're going for.

The jewelry box is well made. The ballerina is perfect and the sound is very sweet to listen to. It is bigger than I thought it would be which I'm very happy with the size it's perfect. And there was no scratches or any thing. If you have a daughter or grand daughter or niece I most deffently recommend the beautiful jewelry box.

My 5 year old has wanted a ballerina music box for a year now. At Christmas, she meticulously chose a cardboard, heart shaped one that was sold out online and that I kept my eye on to come back in stock. As her 5th birthday approached, I decided I wanted to get her one with more longevity that provided a possibility of still being around when she is older.Her grandmother also purchased her a music box, one of the cardboard ones, which she liked also. After two weeks, I’ve noticed this one has come out the favorite. I can’t say why that is, but it really is a beautiful box. The ballerinas inside are never that “nice” but I was proud of the purchase and fully intend to get another for my other baby’s upcoming birthday, as she enjoys music boxes also and deserves to have a beautiful, long lasting one as well.Conclusion? Worth the money. Much better made than the cardboard and plastic ones (which are already coming apart after two weeks of light use). Those are nice beginning boxes but if you’re just going to have to replace them or have a disappointed baby, why not just get the nicer one to start with?

I purchased this for my three year old daughter for her birthday. I am quite pleased with this purchase particularly for the price that I paid. The box itself it made very well. There are no sharp metal corners or pink velvet pulling away anywhere inside the box. The ballerina worked fine for us and continues to work fine. Perhaps some other reviewers don't know/understand the reverse crank mechanism that you turn to get the ballerina to spin and play music. You are able to crank it quite a bit so that it plays music for circa a minute (maybe more). My daughter will crank it and then dance around her room until the music stops. She is only 3 and has learned how to properly crank it without issue.The box itself is rather small. It is perfect for a little girl probably up to the age of 7 or so, but once she starts having larger jewelry or more it it, it will not fit anymore. My daughter can carry it around the house like it is her little treasure box. It doesn't take up too much space on her dresser either. Overall, this is a great "first" jewelry box for a younger girl in your life. It is of such nice quality, it wouldn't surprise me if she keeps it and ends up passing it down to her own daughter someday. Love Lennox.

This jewelry box is beautiful! It looks so elegant and expensive. I am absolutely thrilled with it! I bought it for my 4-year-old granddaughter for Christmas this year. I was somewhat apprehensive about ordering it after reading some of the reviews here that stated that it played music the first time it was wound up but wouldn't play music again after that and others said that theirs never played music at all. Well, I unwrapped it, wound it up, and it played very nicely! I wound it again and it still played. My college age daughter came into the room to check it out. She wound it up and IT WOULDN'T PLAY! She fiddled with the winder. She looked inside the box to see if the spring was catching on something. And then, she moved the ballerina (just a little) and lo and behold, it started playing again...AND it has played ever since! We are so pleased with it! We know my granddaughter is going to love it and I am confident that it's going to play for her for a long time! So, don't hesitate to buy this beautiful well-made jewelry box. If it stops playing music, just move the ballerina a little and it will start up again. We've only had to do it the one time.
