Mainly maintenance and new function for simultaneous copying to many USB sticks
Over the years, I have bought the Nero Platinum Suite over and over again and have never regretted it. Last time I bought version 2019 and the DriveSpan function really amazed me and I use it regularly. Now another year is over and I have noticed Nero 2020. As It seems to be more or less a maintenance release this year I tried to play save and purchased the one year license for half the price. There seems to be nothing really new in the Nero Video, Nero MediaHome and Nero Burning ROM functions that I mostly use. Instead Nero Start has won significantly. For years, you can start all your Nero programs with it and watch help videos. In 2020 there is now an additional menu with all templates in an overview. This is really helpful because you cannot judge the great designs in Nero Video itself properly. In Nero Start this si now much easier and the selected template is handed over to Nero Video on start-up. USBxCopy is the most striking new feature for me. This makes it possible to quickly copy files to many USB sticks at the same time (similar to burning to several burners simultaneously). With packs of 10 x 4GB sticks available for less than 25 GBP, this is a great alternative to burning. Takes little time and looks better as a gift or advertising. The user interface is a bit out of the ordinary, but functional. All-in-all, a full-featured multimedia toolbox with many useful tools.

waste of MONEY and TIME
a very obnoxious product. Sometimes you can be off line and use it other times it forces you to be on line in order to use the product. and you just never know what to expect it also bombards you with advertisements for upgrades because the product you have bought doesn't have features that you thought that it had. I hate that I have wasted so much time trying to figure out how to use this product. I absolutely hate this product.

Helpful, but Maybe not Enough...
After nearly a decade since my last experience with a Nero product, I found myself revisiting the brand with Nero Platinum 365. Initially, I couldn't help but wonder why I hadn't engaged with their software sooner. However, my experience with this latest offering left me with mixed feelings. Let's start with the installation process, which was seamless. Gone are the days of CD-ROM installations; now, everything is conveniently delivered via download. While this is undoubtedly more eco-friendly, there's still a part of me that expected a physical disk, given Nero's history with disc burning software. Well, that and the fact that they literally delivered the download code, which could come in a thin eco-friendly envelope, tucked into a full sized software box, including all cardboard packaging you'd expect to see when delivering a physical disc. Once installed and activated, I began exploring the various functions of Nero Platinum 365. Admittedly, I found myself questioning the necessity of certain features. For instance, the optimization software felt redundant, given that I already use Norton for desktop maintenance. Similarly, as a user of Adobe Creative Suite, I questioned the need for the video editing capabilities offered by Nero. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the simplicity and effectiveness of Nero's video editing tools. While I typically rely on Premiere Pro for my editing needs, I found Nero's interface to be intuitive and user-friendly. For less complex editing tasks, it offers a viable alternative to heavier software suites. Additionally, Nero's AI-driven photo tagging feature impressed me. Comparable to Google Photos, it effectively organized my extensive photo library, providing much-needed assistance in managing my media collection. This functionality alone may be worth the subscription cost for users grappling with large volumes of digital content. Despite these positives, I couldn't shake the feeling that Nero Platinum 365 was trying to be everything to everyone and falling short. While the breadth of features is impressive, it left me questioning whether I truly needed all of them. In an era of specialized software solutions, Nero's all-encompassing approach felt somewhat outdated. Furthermore, the transition to a subscription model may deter some users. While the affordability of the annual subscription is commendable, it represents a departure from its traditional ownership model history. For users accustomed to making a one-time purchase, the recurring cost may be a deterrent. Ultimately, my experience with Nero Platinum 365 left me undecided about its long-term utility. While it offers a range of useful features, I'm not convinced that I'll renew my subscription when the time comes. However, I'm also not ready to dismiss it entirely; there's value in its simplicity and convenience, particularly for users seeking an all-in-one multimedia solution. So, I feel ambivalent about Nero Platinum 365. While it boasts impressive functionality and user-friendly features, its all-encompassing approach and transition to a subscription model may not resonate with all users. For those in need of a versatile multimedia suite, it's worth considering. However, for others, it may be worth exploring more specialized alternatives and only paying for what you need.

Sometimes Less Costs More
I haven’t installed this software suite yet, so I can’t comment on its quality; but I purchased this LEASE in haste. I was trying to decide between Nero Platinum 2019 and Nero Platinum 365. As I shopped on Amazon, what I saw was that “365” was listed as a newer version of Platinum (and contained 7 programs rather than 6). What I didn’t see... because it’s not in the product description... was that “365” is a 1-year lease, to include upgrades. I wish the limited lifespan of the product would have been more clear. However, looking back at the purchase options, I now see that I had two options: the lease for $49 or a perpetual license (for somewhere around $150). And “365” in the title should have tipped me off (just like Office 365 is a lease). If I were a power user, relying on the latest and greatest version of the suite, then the lease might make sense. But, I’m not. As a casual user, I wanted a software suite that I could install and use for a few years. So, I’m disappointed that I made the mistake of paying more for the 1-year lease than I would have paid for the 2019 version which, I assume, doesn’t expire. Fortunately, I have the option of returning the unopened box and purchasing the version better suited to my needs.

Download of a Partial Subscription
Look, if you're old enough, you remember Nero from "the early days" of the internet as the software to burn CDs or DVDs quickly and easily. Physical media is mostly dead, so it's impressive to still see them around. Their software does still have a place in the world, although not nearly as important of one as 20 years ago. That said, it's sad to see Nero as a shell of what it once was when it has so much potential for good. Everything is a subscription anymore, trying to squeeze every free cent from consumers, and it really isn't necessary. This software is Exhibit A. Most people won't need to use this frequently anymore. The features that you may do frequently are better suited in other software that you're already familiar with, or is available for free from other places. So this really seems like one of those "hope they forget to cancel us so we can make some extra cash down the line" situations. What's really frustrating is how all over the product page this talks about being a "full solution". Unfortunately, that's not the case. Many features of the software are still "additional optional features" that you need to pay more money for. Gross. And often you won't know until you go to use it and then are informed this is basically just a paid trial. If I've paid a subscription for your software, watermarks shouldn't be involved. That being said: the software does work really well. It's intuitive and even if you don't have a lot of experience with editing or making media they make sure it make it as painless as possible. I'd love for them to go back to the "pay for this version, buy a new version if you want newer features/compatibility" mode because as much as I actually like what they do, I hate the scummy pricing model more so I'm not inclined to use this moving forward. A shame, really.
