NKJV, Spirit-Filled Life Bible, Third Edition, Hardcover, Red Letter, Comfort Print: Kingdom Equipping Through the Power of the Word Review: Will help you to understand God's love and grace and the work of the holy spirit - This is a really great study bible especially if you are looking for a first time study bible it has lots of pages and is kind of heavy I used to be KJV only but have come to love the NKJV because its almost exactly like the KJV except it takes out the way they talked when KJV was releasedit doesnt include thee thou and words like sayeth instead has a lot of word you and better to understand. It is filled with God's love and grace and will help you to understand God's love and grace and also to study the bible. I got out of living a fear based relationship with God and living by works and having religious perfectionism this study bible has helped to reinforce the work of God's love and will help you if you read the bible and feel condemned or are struggling to understand. It's got great notes a big section rather than few which i didnt like that many study bibles dont have enough notes this has extra parts to help you to understand and also included prayers and has a good outline of yhe original text that is very well to read rather than making you feel overwhelmed. If you are looking for your first time study bible or are considering buying this I would reccomend it, don't be thrown off by the title of the study bible. Godbless. Review: Dozens of Bible scholars right in your hand. Amazing! - My wife has the hard cover, and had the soft cover before that, and it has been such a MASSIVE blessing to us. My John MacArthur study bible, which I also love, is pretty tattered and torn, and while I'll never get rid of it and have it open alongside the Spirit-filled Life Study Bible, I HAD TO have my own. Caught the burgundy leather bound version on sale for just a bit more than the hard cover, and treated myself. What a massive blessing. SO FULL of biblical scholarly wisdom and teaching. Hard to put down.

Really nice reference Bible
Really helpful bible for reference. Written by several pastors, it has a reference on where, who and when books were written. Very helpful when studying a particular chapter. Great for someone who is getting a Bible for the first time or someone who has been reading a long time.

Gorgeous Goatskin Leather Bible and Beautiful Translation
This is my first ever New King James Version bible and I love the translation. It flows beautifully and reads easily and I am in love with it. The bible itself comes wrapped with a nice box. The goat skin is soft and supple and I love to hold this bible. When opened the bible lays flat. I love that the Heading are written in red and are large and easy to read. The typeface is also clear and easy to read. I am amazed how much room there is on each page to jot down notes and references. It is not a journaling bible but it does provide plenty of room to document your thoughts, prayers, and observations. I do love to take notes in my bible and highlight. For that reason the bible will not last me for my lifetime and possibly not even the year. However, the quality is such that if you care for this bible it could easily last a lifetime and is sure to give you years of pleasure at half the cost of the Cambridge, Schuyler or Allen Bibles. All of those bibles are amazing, of course, yet this Thomas Nelson is also something very special. You will not be sorry you purchased this bible. It is truly a treasure with which to read Gods amazing word.

I can't put this bible down!
What a perfect size. The font is totally readable and enhances the experience (way to go 2K/Denmark). The layout is an invitation to read: simple bible text with little to no distractions. References on the sides of the page are a great idea. All the references you might desire are there but they're out of the way - they don't interfere with your ability to pay attention to the bible text. The slightly cream toned white paper is sublime: wonderfully opaque and easy to page turn. The line matched text solves ghosting issues you've doubtlessly hated in previous bibles. I LOVE the red text (not words of Christ in red, this is a black letter edition) - it is the perfect artistic accent and it's functional as well. The red under gold art gilt page edging is so beautiful. It's a joy to open this bible up to see that red tone appear - a red tone matched to the red text (wow!). And even the three double sided silk ribbons (two black, one red) match the overall design of the bible. The goatskin is ... amazing ... this is my first goatskin bible and I'll not go back to any other type of leather again. It is nicely floppy on the first day. The bible feels like it is fully broken in on the first day you open it. The leather has a nice (naturally) pebbly texture but also feels somewhat smooth and is edge sewn for years of use. The edge gilt on the inside of the cover is beautifully done and perfectly frames the text block when the bible lies open - which it does flawlessly. The spine of the bible lacks raised dividers instead having printed dividers. They do the job nicely and the dual thin gold lines at each location is a very nice artistic touch adding to the overall presentation of the finished product. Simple text on the spine tastefully complete the overall design: HOLY BIBLE ... New King James Version ... Thomas Nelson. Nothing else is needed. Things that are somewhat unimportant to me but should be mentioned in case these matter to you: the bible maps are nicely done and the sizable concordance is impressive (albeit the font is a bit small). Note I'm in my 60's now and I've noticed many of my old bibles (old, dear friends) seem to have shrinking text recently. Ah, 60's ... oh joy. That is what drove me to seek out bibles with the 2K/Denmark fonts. This has been such a delightful surprise. The bible is a complete invitation to read. I read it daily and wish I had more time to devote to it. This is, to date, the best bible I've ever owned at any price point. I gladly give this bible my highest recommendation.

See what all the other bibles have to offer, then buy this one.
For months I ordered and returned Bibles to replace my tattered and worn KJV I’ve had over 20 years. I knew I needed large print due to the slow shrinkage of my arm length. And I preferred index tabs so our pastor wouldn’t have to stop his sermon as I licked my thumbs to turn the pages and begged out loud for him to wait until I could get to the correct scripture. (I didn’t want the rest of the congregation to get behind either). And I really wanted leather…something to last as long as I do but without the forever creases that only Jesus can remove. So I diligently searched- mostly on Amazon but in some stores too. I asked friends and looked at some fancy ones that are “for Women”, some colored ones- pink, purple, turquoise, you name it. There are some made for journaling, coloring, made for study, made for busy people, made for everything imaginable. I was kind of getting discouraged. I thought, well, I’ll just stick with the old one - tape some pages back in and make do. However, several things occurred to me on this journey. 1. How can a Bible be just for women? I mean, really? I’m a woman, but I don’t need a publisher to tell me that. 2. Does choosing a color make it easier to read, understand or appreciate? I love turquoise and ordered three different ones because they were pretty. All three went right back. 3. Why all the distractions and confusion? Gods word is straightforward. Period. Why can’t a Bible be just straightforward? Isn’t that what we want and need- just the facts? I get the color part - kind of. But really, the journaling? The coloring? I need to stay focused when I’m in the word. Fo-cussssed. I can’t possibly stay focused in His word if I can’t decide between lavender and mauve for the petals. And is it Fall or Spring in this picture? What color should these leaves be? What kind of tree is this anyway ? Let me Google it right quick… or do I color based on my mood? The weather? The season? See-already starting out IN the rabbit hole. When it arrived in its plain brown packaging I didn’t hear any angelic voices. I didn’t have some out of body experience or feel like all of my problems were solved. I don’t recall a bright light and complete peace. I didn’t see if the UPS driver looked like Jesus or wore a cross or Star of David around his neck. As a matter of fact, I don’t think I was even home! But when I tried it out, it when I opened it up and flipped through it, that’s when I knew, this is the Bible God WANTS me to have. Seriously, this IS the Bible God wanted me to have! He lead me to it. It was one of the first ones I considered, but didn’t order because it was too plain and didn’t confirm my gender. There are no colored pictures, no pictures to color. Nothing to tell you it’s a Bible except for the gold inscription on the spine and some numbers on the back. It’s a little fancy, 3 satin ribbons instead of just 1 or 2… So, now I have a new Bible and I really and truly learned not to judge a book by its cover.
