The washers from the hardware store are too big, and the mall skate shops don't carry them. So yes, buy these.

This pack of speed washers fit my needs perfectly. I work on longboards often, and speed washers are very easy to lose, it's vital to have some spare washers unless you want to spend half an hour looking around for a tiny washer on the ground halfway through cleaning bearings or changing wheels. The pack of washers arrived promptly, and the price was excellent for the quantity. The performance difference with these washers and without them is noticeable, it's definitely vital for any serious skatebaorder to have speed washers so that you can tighten your axle nuts down completely and not have to worry about the nut coming loose while riding (which has happened to me). Five stars, granted it'd be hard to go wrong with axle washers, but these are ideal.

I see this as an all-or-nothing rating. They are the right size for your typical 8mm axles and are steel, so I am rating it five stars. About "speed washers" - they don't make you "go faster" but do help to keep your trucks from eating up the bearing seals. Ideally you would pair these with bearing spacers between the bearings so you can crank the wheel nut right down and have the wheels spin freely, but bearing spacers are hard to find even in skate shops for quad wheels (but everyone has them for inline skate wheels?!)

My skateboard trucks didn’t come with washers so I had to buy some and they work pretty good
