LETING Portable Mini USB FM Radio Speaker Music Player TF Card for PC iPod Phone (088 Blue)

I have had this odd little unit - Mfine 088 - for a few years now and this unit is an incredible value - cheap, sounds great, works wonderfully. This is my "go to" travel unit because so many hotel rooms have lousy radios or none at all and TV is not a good source of music and I don't want to carry a separate BT speaker unit although I sometimes do for longer trips. MicroSD Card: I use a SanDisk Ultra 64 gb micro SD (not completely full) in it and it works flawlessly. I have tried others and they have all worked. You can d/l music from your computer etc to the micro SD Card and then just plug it in. There are no screens to tell you what is playing but your ears know and for 12 American, it's not even on a wish list. Truly plug and play here. Speaker: The speaker has depth and is rich-sounding - it has a fantastic sound - I was blown away by how good it sounds even at high levels and it does get loud - this of course is source dependent as I noted that some of my content is a lot louder than other songs so I have to turn it down. This is better sounding than several of my BT speakers. Clear, not muddy, with a slightly warm sound. Use with iPhone 8+ Poor Sound Solution: So just for the heck of it I tried a test. I used a standard 3.5mm stereo cable plug at both ends (the same as your headphones/headphones) and plugged that into the Mfine AUX and the other end into into a 3.5 mm Lightning adapter and that went into my iPhone. Et Voila! That is a clunky solution to Apple's inability to engineer sound. I need to use a short 6-12" cable - the 3 ft one was all I had on hand while traveling. FM: Press the pause/play button for 2 seconds and it automatically scans and loads each station that registers and then you can use the FF button to scroll through the stations. FM sound is equally good. I've used this in various urban areas and FM selectivity has been good and the station remains locked in - no FM drift etc. LED Light: This is one of those odd-little additions to this unit that works nicely. It lights up during charging by the way so charging overnight you may not want this next on your bedside table. Battery Life: I have had it on for 8-10 hours with battery life left. It uses a BL-5C flat battery - the kind that were popular in older cell phones - you may well have one lying around the house, if you want to have a back up. If not, these are cheap and freely available. That said, I have not needed to do so as battery life was very good. Inputs: Micro USB - this is the charger input. Headphone - self explanatory Aux - in - I found my iPhone 8 to have incredible poor sound output. I was listening to an audio book and it drove me crazy how inadequate the iPhone sound is. See solution above. USB - I have not used it yet so I decided to test it just for fun for this review. I plugged the Micro SD card into: a) Anker SD card thumb sized adapter with a micro SD input. Using the full SD card, it played perfectly but the micro-SD card did not. b) I-FlashDevice HD (3 way USB with micro-USB inside the USB, USB C, Lightning plug) - works fine. c) "USB Type-C/OTG Card Reader/Writer". USB and USB C at each end with SD and Micro slots on either side of the unit. This is a no name unit and it worked fine. I have given this to a friend who expressed great interest in it. I plan to buy a 3rd unit as a back up. Ultimately, the is the cost of a couple of coffees. If it doesn't work for you, return it or give it away.

UPDATE: 3-20-16 Well this thing rocked solid for almost a year but just the other day I went to plug in the headphone jack and it broke. Just fell inside the case. So I being the fix it kinda guy I thought I would just pull it apart and re solder it back on. OH HECK NO!! I think they put these things together with Guerrilla glue or something because as hard as I tried to pry this thing apart in the end it was a wreck. So in the trash it went. So I just bought another one. I mean, at this price and for what it does. Worth every penny. My friends at work cannot believe the sound that comes out of this little box. I'll admit. It still astounds me. Update: 10-11-15 I just wanted to let everyone know that this thing is still rocking just like day one. I bought a bigger battery (2450mah Bl-5c High Capacity Gold 2430mAh BL-5C Business Battery with Overheat and overcharge protection built in) on Amazon and I can now run this thing for almost 8 hours full volume. If I run the volume about half it will run for over 12 hours. still great sound. Full volume does not stress the speaker at all. Perfect sound high or low. Simply the best little player. This has got to be the best little MP3, FM Radio player I have ever seen. I really wasn't sure what I was going to be getting and at $ 15.00 I wasn't expecting much. But holy smokes, I mean it's not hi-fi or nothing but for what it is it's got the best sound I have ever heard out of a box this size. This little player has got some very rich sound and impressive lows for such a little thing. This puts a regular radio to shame. So when I got it we plugged it in and let it charge for a bit just to make sure the battery was full. As it was charging, I put a bunch of MP3's on the new Micro SD card and let it rip. We played this little gem for 9 3/4 hours at half volume before it finally puttered out. I was so impressed that I bought another one just for me. Instructions were simple, but was missing the instructions for the button that you press to activate the memory for the FM. For that you just long press the play/pause button in the FM setting and let it rip. It will then load all the stations it can find into memory. On a side note for the MP3 playback. I took a bunch of my songs and copied them in a separate file and re-named all of them to just numbers 1-1000 or so and also did the same for all the special information so that the numbers were all that the player could see. I then copied the same playlist on both mine, and my wife's player in the same order and played the first song. Both players played different songs when starting the playlist, and both songs were not the number 1 song in the list from the SD card. The numbers on the unit were the same but the songs were not. I tried going from end to end and both played a totally different random song list. So my conclusion to this is that the unit does not play the songs from 1-1000 but shuffles them in whatever order it chooses. This was actually perfect for me as this player does not have a shuffle option. Over all a great little MP3 player and well worth the money.

Initially I wasn't going to write a review of this product -- mainly because I think it has many reviews that represent it accurately -- Overall I'm very satisfied with the quality of this product, it's inexpensive, the sound quality is better than expected and functionality is fine for the price. I bought this radio for our toddler, it was a successful attempt to keep her away from our ipads -- because 'I want to listen to a song' seemed to always turn into 'I want to play a game' ... or 'let me just open Netflix and watch a show' -- We didn't want to restrict her music intake, so this device was the answer -- at least when it comes to playing the mp3s, which is all we use it for(I tried to tune the radio, but honestly I just got frustrated with it and I really didn't care about that anyway)...anyway, it's so simple, a toddler can use it. I put a bunch of music on the SD card, not really taking note of how I did it and went on my way -- A few months later, my wife had been reminding me for awhile to put the kiddos 'Little Mermaid Soundtrack' on it because we had started to resort to ipad rule again -- I finally set out to accomplish this goal, thinking I would make short work of it -- I gathered all of her new music and drug all the files onto the SD card at the same time, put the SD card back in the player and found that all the music was shuffled... what the...? So I tried again, thinking I needed to sequence the files by number, because I noticed that Amazon numbers the tracks and several of tunes had the same numbers at the beginning... then I tried it again... still shuffled. Turns out it doesn't matter what you name the file, the player goes by timestamp, what goes on first, gets played first -- this means you need to deliberately drag the files on to the SD card an album at a time so it's all copied over in order -- the random shuffle thing would be fine for me, but I needed a predictable method for the toddler to find her jams, leaving it up to the universe to decide what plays next was just going to cause problems. Anyway, that information is not easily found in these reviews and I thought it would be helpful so you don't waste an hour like I did....

This little radio/media player is pretty cool. I have to admit that I did not expect it to perform the way it does. For being a one speaker setup it produces great sound clarity at mid range volume, which is all you really need, especially in an office setting. I don't play MP3 files as I feel they are terrible. Instead I play wave files, which it does play, and it sounds perfect. While playing songs I can really hear the drum beats, the guitar, the voices, etc. Nothing is muddy or distorted. The bass response is good too. It does not vibrate house obviously, but at a reasonable volume, the radio is able to complement the song with a good bass response. Playing heavy bass music, you are obviously not going to get the gut wrenching low ends, but the bass guitars and kick drums come out nicely in music that is well rounded. I consider myself a perfectionist audiophile, I pick music systems to death until I get what I want. This radio, thus far, has met my expectations for a small personal radio for the office, home workshop, etc. At this point I am glad I bought it. The FM radio picks up great, the USB port works great, the Micro SD card slot works great. All of the controls seem to work as they should. It even has an LED flashlight in case the power goes out and I need to get out quick (lol!) I give it five stars for design, functionality, ease of use, performance, the number of media input options, and the replaceable battery. It's only $15 as of this posting and well worth it in my opinion. I hope this helps someone out there looking for a good product for a low price.

- [Model 088] This is FM radio + MP3 player + Speaker for an external device. (But no AM radio) - It has micro SD slot, regular USB slot, AUX input(3.5 mm) and an earphone jack(3.5 mm). Charging port is mini USB slot. - It is a little taller, slightly narrower, and twice thicker than my iPhone 4s. Pros : - I like this old-style rotary volume control. It is easier and faster for me. - Picked up about 30 FM stations at my home. My other transistor radios usually pick up less than 20 FM stations. And there is no or less static than other radios. - Sound is very good and pleasant to my ears and the volume is loud enough in my bedroom. - There is no rod antenna. The attached string functions as an antenna. - There is a flash light, which is very handy at night. - The mode button which changes the sound source is very convenient. - You can mute the speaker at one touch. - There are 10 number keys. You can select an FM station or MP3 track at one(or two) touch. Or you can input 3 or 4 digits of the frequency directly. - After turning on, it starts from where I left last time. - The battery(BL-5C Li-ion 3.7V 800mAh) is removable. - Micro SD card does not stick out when inserted. And it is easy to take it out. Cons : - Battery lasts only for a few hours. I had to buy a backup battery. - Can't put a specific frequency into memory. You need to press and hold the Play/Pause button for a few seconds to auto-scan. It will take about one minute. All the frequencies it can receive will be saved. - Sometimes all the saved frequencies are lost for some reason I don't understand. I have to auto-scan again. - LED display doesn't go off after 30-40 seconds like 938B. - When charging by PC, USB stick doesn't work. It recognizes charging mini-USB cable as USB stick. - When inserting USB stick, it changes the sound source to the USB stick. Update: I bought two of these. The mode button of one of them does not work any more. So I am using that unit only as an FM radio. I remember one of the reviewers mentioned about this. I guess their Quality Control is not good enough. But I will not deduct a star because I am satisfied with the sound quality.

First, I'd like to thank the guys that posted their videos online. Without their reviews, I would never have imagined that so much could be packed into such a small, lightweight music player --- with an incredible speaker! I was blown away by this device. It does exactly what I needed, even better than I could have expected, and at a price that's hard to believe. I needed a music player that could play MP3 files from a USB flash drive through a speaker. This does that, and more! The radio, TF card slot, and flashlight are definitely a bonus. In case it's helpful to others though, I will mention a few things that could be deal breakers, depending on your needs: the radio doesn't play AM stations (only FM), the MP3 songs can't be shuffled (only repeated), it doesn't have Bluetooth capabilities, and the display doesn't show you the name of the MP3 file that's playing ---- but everything that it does, it does really really well. (I just got mine, so I can't speak to the battery life yet). If your requirements are similar to mine, you won't be disappointed --- I'm thrilled with my purchase.

I'm giving this 4 stars based on the value for price... which at this time is about 13 bucks. It is versatile, has decent sound, relatively small and portable, and delivers everything it promises. This is an unbiased and non-bought review (I paid for the item myself). I'd have given this 5 stars on basic performance, except for a few issues in poor design flaws. For the price it's still good, but there are a couple of features I consider 'standard' that this doesn't have, and a couple of design issues that are significantly negative. PROS * Instructions that are clear, well-written, and actually readable. That's almost wondrous in today's micro-print, sloppy-translation market. * Decent sound, significantly better than my cell phone (and my phone has decent sound). It sounds better than a lot of other devices I've heard. We can't expect 100 dollar sound out of a 13 dollar device. But on a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a good 5 or 6 on sound. Acceptably decent. * Plenty of volume... you'll never want to crank to max (it does distort at higher volumes). * Versatile. Can play MP3s from a FlashDrive, TFT/microSD card, or AUX port (3.5mm / 1/8 standard jack). * Includes a short male-to-male AUX port cord to hook to other devices. So it's an MP3 player that can serve as a powered speaker. * FM radio with button-access stations. (9 3 7 accesses FM 93.7) * Easy-access volume dial right by the on/off button * On/Off button with memory: resumes prior playing mode and location when turned back on. * LED light if you're in the dark while camping or during a blackout. (Nice feature.) * Relatively small size-- less than an inch thick. Great for putting under a pillow for sleep music or carrying in a pocket. * Rechargeable 10-hour battery. (See three Recharging Caveats below.) * Lanyard already attached! (saves that hassle) * Track access buttons can skip one track forward / backward, or move to beginning of album / FF. * Earphone jack ============================== CONS * Can't play BluTooth (not at this price). If you want BluTooth there's plenty on the market. I bought this for the mSD / Flashdrive ability. * Uses mini-USB power cord instead of micro-USB or USB-C. (Who uses mini-USB any more?) Charge cord is a short 3 ft long. Not a major issue; it still works. It's just "old tech" that may make it more difficult to find a replacement cord. * Bass is okay, but could have been better... and I would pay a little more for better sound (if under 20 bucks). You can hear the bass sounds... just not at bass level. Still, the sound is acceptable-- better than a good cell phone or tablet speaker, and better than many small radios. But for the next model, I'd add a better bass speaker to the mix. * There's no folder / album play function. It plays whatever is on the card or flashdrive. A way around this is to put albums on separate cards, but that can be a pricey hassle carrying around several cards. * No "shuffle" function; songs play in linear order. That's not a major issue, but a shuffle feature would be nice to mix things up a bit. * Major issue: It doesn't stop playing at the end of files; it starts over again at the beginning, with no way to stop it from doing so. So if you're using it to get to sleep... it will keep playing over and over until the battery dies. That's a seriously bad design. RECHARGING CAVEATS * There's no charging / remaining charge indicator (a row of tiny LEDs). Instead... * When charging the battery, the FLASHLIGHT comes on at about half-brightness-- but still far too bright. You'll probably need to block the LED at night while charging, because it's bright enough to keep you awake. The flashlight doesn't go off when the device is fully charged... so bad design on that all the way around. * BIG ONE: Don't leave it plugged in / charging all the time. It's possible to over-charge the battery with destructive results-- the battery swelling and dying. (I know this from prior devices using the same battery.) Considering the Cons I rate this at 4 stars. Wanted to give it 5 stars, but seriously, that bright flashlight while charging... and the "doesn't stop at end of files" are major issues. Someone should have noticed both before this hit the production line.

The Mfine 088 SDpeaker with FM, USB thumb and SD card mp3 player arrived today. As always I immediatly opened my new toy from Amazon. I must say that it was a pleasant surprise on the overall look of quality and finish. It includes the device itself, a mini USB charging cable, a aux cable, a wrist strap lanyard already attached, English instruction pamphlet and a fully charged BL-5C Nokia cell phone li-po battery (a $5.00 battery readily available anywhere). I installed the battery and autoscanned for FM stations until the Max. of 25 stations were detected per the enclosed directions. You can manually select a station using the 10 key pad on the face of the speaker as well. I ran the volume to max and some distortion was noted but after backing out a small amount it was still reasonably loud wo/distortion. There was no adjustment for bass/treble but the preset was a nice balance. The 2" loud speaker is is protected by a sturdy metal mesh and a second passive tube for bass is also present. The speaker provides mono sound only. The headphone jack outputs in stereo for the FM, USB and SD card if the files and stations are formated in stereo. Navigating through the SD card files (and I assume the USB files would work the same way) I was pleasantly suprised that I could fast forward and back through an individual file and not simply skip to the next file when I long press the forward and back buttons. Nice. I played the device from SD card for several hours and the battery indicator hasn't moved yet. I don't know how long it will play as yet from personal experience but others say its 10 plus hours so I have no reason to doubt it. Overall very pleased with the purchase for under $12.00 is hard to beat and the confidence of purchasing from Amazon is a real plus. This device can be purchased from various Chinese suppliers shipped from China for under $9.00 shipping costs included with a 3-4 week estimated delivery (could be longer). But, if its DOA or a knock off clone it will cost you more than you paid for it to send it back to get a replacement or refund. Chances are you wouldn't have a problem but.... So a fast delivery direct from Amazon with the no BS return policy is worth the $3.00 difference.

This is my 2nd unit. I loved my 1st one so much that I decided to get one more. Why not? They both still function perfectly, by the way. Everything that's advertised is true and correct. No exaggeration anywhere. The sound is really impressing, coming out of such a little thing. No need to start describing all the features again. Also make a fabulous little gift. I loaded 5 different micro SD cards, with my favorite music on them (one jazz, one rock, etc.). A little tedious to do, but well worth it when it's time to deliver. DO NOT LISTEN TO NEGATIVE REVIEWS TO GUIDE YOU ON THIS PRODUCT.... It's just marvelous, considering the price.

This is great little radio! It's exactly what I was looking for. I work construction and we're not allowed big radios but this is perfect. It's loud and small. 5 other people on my job got one and we all love it. I haven't had any problems. It's been dropped and covered in dust and is still working. The best part is the price! Any small construction radio is going to be close to $100. I recommend this radio to everyone on my job and to anyone interested in it!

Works very well. Sound is quite good for such a small speaker. My primary use was to play mp3 files from a memory stick. That works fine. It plays them in the order they were placed on the memory stick, not in alphabetical order. No randomize function but you can select a track by number or skip to the next or previous track.

Works well, not the best sound in the world but it's more than good enough for listening to the radio, podcasts etc. (You can also plug it into an external speaker for improved sound quality). The thing that makes it indispensable for me is the micro SD card slot! I have two of these radios and a bunch of music and podcasts on micro sd cards. Great for camping trips and power failures. I charge it via a portable solar usb charger .

Good little radio, nothing to complain about, can be used anywhere.
