The book is beautiful with tremendous practical insights. The author is a poet, a philosopher, and well, hold your breath for a sec, a corporate consultant. This book is just plain better than the so many 'career' books out there.

To you who may find this book: prepare for a voyage. The author weaves his arguments with tender care... Maybe his reputation preceeds him, from South America as I am, I wouldn't really know. I'll emphasize, however, the fact this is a book from the time just before wider internet advancements and social media - the wisdom contained here is grounded, timeless. From a time we, as a collective, were not yet as unmoored from our lives as we have come to be...

Whyte shares his personal history with deep, meaningful insights. A master wordsmith presents an interesting perspective on the career. I recommend this to anyone who believes that they can get more out of a career than a paycheck and a good pension. He breathes new life into the conversation.

Tremendously well described basis for how work can and should fit into my (or your) life, and why. Great examples from the author's own experience, anecdotes, poetry and beautiful prose, and anything else it takes to help me create a picture of where I could be, why that could be a better place, and how I could, slowly or quickly, move in that direction and generally reduce the frictions, stress and conflicts of everyday life. A life-changing book and a pleasant and beautiful read at the same time. Unclear why not in print in the UK!!
