I liked it
I have a friend that also owns and plays talisman and he doesn't like this expansion. He says the dark/light fate is too much to keep up with. With all the items you already have now you have to keep track of an item that changes with your fate!I disagree, I think that this game needed the extra challenge. I have to read through my cards all the time. I take time between each turn to quickly look over what I have and plan my own next turn. My wife and I though don't play pvp unless an event is in play that forces it. So that takes some of the pressure off that you make react differently depending if a player suddenly decides to go after you.The destiny cards at the end are interesting but also disappointing. Now that adds more than I really wanted to keep up with.

Great addition to a great game
The Woodlands expansion really alters the dynamics of the game in a way that is well thought-out and fun. We played it for the first time the other night and were surprised at some of the actions in the Woodlands deck. There was a card, for example, that changed your character for three turns. Another one told you to select a new alternate ending at random. The purpose of the Woodland is to create fantasy chaos and they really accomplished that. The new characters are unique and for the most part balance well with the rest of the game. While I would not consider using this expansion with novice Talisman players, I highly recommend it for anybody who is already a fan of the game looking for a way to have a new playing experience.

The Board is the most beautiful art work of any board game imo
The Board is the most beautiful art work of any board game imo. The Looks are top notch. I've not logged extensive play time with it as of YET; however that will soon change. The Woodlands rock and is a must have imo for any Talisman lover. What can I say? lol IT'S TALISMAN BABY! I work in Urgent Care and ER. This game relieves stress. Love it. Get with friends, family and grab your favorite drink. Get a nice big table. Sit back and make dem memories ~.0

Shipping took a little longer than I had hoped, but within the promised timeframe. It met my expectations, but did not exceed them, therefore, I only gave it 4 stars.

not the best expansion, but very entertaining
not the best expansion, but very entertaining. Woodlans modifies the fate mechanics and expands the usage of it! Good for experiencing the use of fates (you will be using way more fates than ever).

Good expansion
We love Talisman at our house. My son often begs to play. The woodlands expansion is an interesting addition to the game. Only problem is the boards are so big it is a challenge to find enough table room to set them all up. If you love Talisman, I would recommend adding this expansion on.

The best of the big box expansions.
The Woodlands is probably the best of the 'corner board' expansions. The Highland and The Dungeon, while great expansions, just add more of the same. The City is just all about shops. With The Woodland though, the designers are clearly trying to add some more dynamics to the game and increase player interaction with the new Dark Fate rules. With the changes to Fate, players can now force others to make re-rolls. I don't have to explain how appealing this is to the type of player who likes to mess with the fortunes of others and cackle madly when Talisman does something horrible to their opponents. Schadenfreude is an important element of Talisman. The new characters are similarly designed to increase the player interactivity, most of them have special abilities that directly or indirectly affect the other players. This is a Good Thing. When entering the Woodlands themselves, players choose a 'path' which come with its own special rules and rewards that affect the character as they journey through the area. More choice is also A Good Thing. A common (and valid) criticism of the base game is that there is little player agency, you just go around in circles waiting for something to happen to you. Each corner expansion adds choices to make about where to go and what to goals to set and adds a lot to the game. Having a variety rewards on offer for completing the Woodlands adds more interesting decisions for the player to make.Fantasy Flight could easily have just knocked out another Highlands or Dungeon with a forest theme, but they really made an effort with this one to make Talisman a more interesting game and it shows. Highly recommended to Talisman fans.P.S. My only gripe is that the board folds differently to the other three corner boards. They don't fit nicely together in a box now. This irritates my sense of neatness!

Well worth losing table space!
Great addition to Talisman, brings a really interesting spin to fate, which is both Brutally punishing and very rewarding!Destiny's are a fun addition with some unique and interesting effects. The woodlands encounters are well thought out and equipment is well balanced.Worth taking up the extra table space!

Fun
Arrived on time and in excellent condition, as one should expect. Played the game before and enjoyed it. If you like fantasy based books/film and have friends with a similar taste then this game is worth a purchase.
