This equipment works well, and as described.I located the noise that was bothering me, and was able to save on unnecessary trips to the workshop for parts replacement, that would not have solved the noise problem I was having from my vehicle's suspension.

Excellent to locate parts that are making noise.

Initial review-bench test, it does work but very noticeable variances in mic sensetivity, this shouldn't affect effectiveness will update if it does

This tool is extremely helpful in diagnosing noise concerns on vehicles. It's easy to setup and use. The tool is basically a stethoscope that can be attached to different parts. There's 6 channels that can be switched between using a knob. The intensity is measured using lights on a meter. Basically the channel with the highest reading is your most likely issue. Keep in mind to stay away from rotating assemblies, obviously.

This thing is so cheap. I push on the battery door and try to move it forward and it won't open. I'm afraid it might break if I push any harder. Very disappointed. Returning.

Great tool. I swore I had a front end issue… wheel out of balance, strut shot, break rotor warped or out of balance… something just had to be wrong with the passenger side front wheel! Then I got this microphone system… within an hour I pinpointed my transmission. Torque converter going out (by from driver’s seat my ears told me it was the passenger front wheel)… microphone system showed passenger and driver wheels equally noisy, and the microphones I put near the transmission were off the scale. Wish I could tell you there was a happy ending… maybe there was… I added some shudder stop to the transmission and traded the truck in. I think the microphones paid for themselves ten times over.

This tool has a lot of capability - unfortunately mine came with 2 bad cables and 1 bad clamp/microphone.But moving around the cables and clamps, I was able to get 4 channels working properly and with only 4 channels, I've been able to diagnose several noises by comparing the height of the display lights on the various 4 channels which are connected to different parts of the engine.Because I have 2 dud cables and 1 dead microphone/clamp, I only can listen to 4 channels. I've used the headphones and selected the different channels to compare the noise level listening with the included earphones. I called Amazon and they said to return this item and then order another one, but it would be much simpler if I could just get the 2 bad cables and the bad clamp/microphone replaced.6 channels would be perfect. As a master certified ASE auto technician, I plan on making a video on how to use this noise finder to find noises on various vehicles. I have super glued 1/4" x 1/2" long bolts to temporarily glue these to clean areas on the chassis or the engine and then connect the clamp/microphones to these bolts. When done, I just use Super Glue disolver and take them back off. The Super Glue accelerator spray makes it quick and easy to install these "Noise access points" - the 1/4" bolts
