Nice finishing sander good power for its size and comparatively quiet, I’m used to festool and mirka for work and the Bosch is quieter. Dust collection is exceptional. The dust collector fills pretty quick through the rougher grades but keep clear and there is minimal dust on your project. Hook it up to a vacuum and you are dust free. I shall put a pad saver on it as the pad will loose its grip with the heat generated from sanding. The vibration is next to nothing making it easy to control and fatigue free. Great little sander.

I purchased this sander to replace an old (pre-dust collecting) Makita that could no longer maintain its grip on sandpaper. The random orbital is a different animal than the straight orbital; I think it works much better. Stock removal rate on the Bosch is considerably faster - I used it a few days ago to smooth hardened epoxy/filler while fairing the keel of our boat, and though I had been skeptical about the usefulness of the variable speed feature, I actually used a slower setting to maintain control of stock removal. Even with 60 grit, the resulting surface is remarkably smooth (on wood or epoxy) with no visible marks. Although it has been used on a couple projects, the sanding disk still looks like new. The dust collection is amazing; very little dust gets away from this thing. The down side of that is that the dust collector needs to be cleaned out fairly often. I found the dust collector lid difficult to pry off, but it may loosen up somewhat with use. One little trick to cleaning out the dust collector is to use the shop vac to suck the dust back out of the inlet passage on the dust collector, after lightly tapping the collector on the bench to knock the dust out of the filter element. If you do that, you can clean the dust out in seconds, without removing the lid. Somewhere in the instructions, it says not to force the tool or apply excessive pressure. Believe that. Leaning on the tool seems to slow down the action and make the tool wander all over the place, so just apply light pressure and you can gently guide the tool to where it needs to be. Vibration is minimal; this tool is a pleasure to use.

This is my first random orbital sander and it gives smooth and efficient sanding. The handle is very comfortable to hold for long periods and it's very lightweight compared to sanding with my multi-tool attachment.The dust collection system is very efficient and it had reduced my cleanup significantly. I still wear a mask but this really does its job well. The cover is a bit hard to remove though so be careful when cleaning or else you'll have fine dust everywhere. I wish the canister was a bit larger but I do like the option to use my own shop vacuum.Overall, it's a solid choice for DIYers like myself
