Wished I had replaced this valve sooner!
Works great. Wish I had replaced the other one sooner. The first one came with the instant hot water pump. This brings warm water to our upstairs bathroom in no time, saving us a lot of wasted water and the money to pay for that water.

Simple replacement
Iโve had my Watts hot water circulation system for about 3 years. For the last few months it has not been working as well and noticed it was taking longer for hot water to arrive. Thought it might be the colder winter we had. Not that. Pump was running normally so I assumed the transfer valve was the culprit. Ordered and replaced and it solved the problem. Not too excited that the simple valve failed in less that 3 years. Hopefully this one will last longer.

Internal springs no longer stainless steel - major failure
I purchased this as a replacement for one that failed (5 years old). The replacement failed within 3 months. I disassembled the original unit and discovered the cause of failure was calcium buildup, I cleaned and reassembled it for use as a spare. This allowed me the knowledge of how the unit is assembled and what components are used. Upon removal of the replacement valve, I was shocked. The failure was cause by the internal springs made of steel, which rusted and clogged up the internal works of the valve. My original valve used stainless steel springs and is now back in service, working perfectly. I will attempt to contact the manufacturer for this issue.

Valve works as well as the original product; faulty valves can often be brought to life
This valve replaced the original valve, which had failed under normal use. I agree with others who say the valve seems to be overpriced, but replacing the valve is a cost-effective option compared to shopping for and purchasing a more dependable system. I bought the Watts system (pump & valve) in January 2017. In November 2019, so after less than three years, the valve stopped working; it stayed closed, and would not open, so whether the pump was running or not, we did not have hot water in a short time as expected. I ordered a replacement valve from Amazon and after it was installed, the system was working again. I wasn't able to figure out how to dismantle the valve as mentioned by another reviewer, and tried CLR briefly but decided to just use vinegar. After I immersed the faulty valve in vinegar (5% acetic acid) for six to eight weeks, I was pleasantly surprised that the original valve had apparently come back to life! Now the valve is open when at room temperature, and is closed after running hot water (105ยฐ or so) through it for a few seconds. You can test a valve by plugging the outlet for the hot water tap with your finger and blowing into the "hot" end of the valve. Listen for air to exit the "cold" side of the valve when the valve is cool, no air exiting when the valve has been warmed up. I won't know for sure if this original valve will function until my replacement fails and I reinstall the original valve, but I have reason to be optimistic that I won't have to buy a new valve every two to three years. The valve I purchased from Amazon seems to work exactly as well as the original product. I rate it at four stars to acknowledge that if people have not yet purchased a system, they may want to look for a model that is more robust than the Watts product.

Needs Occasional Replacement
Not sure what causes this valve to stop functioning at same temperature differential as it does when first installed, but it only takes about 15 minutes to replace old one with new. Price is a consideration, but out of 3 valves, only one in the far guest bathroom needed replacing after about 3 years. Have not needed to replace the Watts recirculating pump, and using this system has consistently provided hot water just seconds after turning the tap on. Very pleased with this system.

Ask yourself WHY you actually need this valve. Do you have a HOT WATER LOOP in your system?
First of all nothing is wrong with this valve. It does what it says it does. I give it three stars because...product knowledge is also helpful. So if you are reading this review I hope it helps you to make an informed decision. My house was built in 1992. With copper pipes and a BRANCH system water spokes off a main line and to the various fixtures around the house. I bought a Watts recirculation pump it was super easy to install on my hot water heater. I bought two of these valves and walla...I had HOT HOT water at the furthest points! How nice. I also had HOT HOT HOT water at ALL of cold water lines as well...not just the ones with the valve installed-all of them in the house. This was not at all helpful as then I had to flush the cold water for minutes to get cold water for just as long as I used to have run the hot water to get hot water. So basically I turned the pump off. I would use this product if you have a dedicated HOT WATER LOOP installed in your system so it pushes that water right back into the hot water side and not into the cold water side. I guess if I had used two wits in my brain I might have realized that before installing this system.

Just what I needed.
My instant hot water system was not working after it had been installed two years ago. Thought it was the pump but saw a Youtube video about what causes these problems. Changed out this valve and problem solved. There was a bunch of gunk built up in the old valve. Took about 10 minutes to replace.

Impossible to create a water tight connection
there is a grove that runs across each of the threads, preventing a water tight connection. The sensor valve that came with the pump kit did not have the grove and worked perfectly. When I received the items, I put teflon tape on the threads as I do with water connections. Unfortunately, that covered the groves and so I wasted 3 hours trying additional teflon tape and finally, plumbers paste. When I gave up and took the tape off, I realized why the connections leaked. This may be a knock off product as the original valve was fine.

Fantastic product works like a charm
Originally bought the Navien navicirc recirculation valve as I had just installed a Navien water heater the water heater is great but the navicirc valve was horrible it howled like a cat in heat. Left all plumbing the same just installing the watts valve works perfectly very happy with my purchase. Valve on left is watts 1/2 the size of navicirc right

Works Great
Works great, Have used this for almost 2 years with no problems. My house has two sensors in the house, one in the kitchen and one in the upstairs bathroom. My only concern is continually supplied warm water until a check valve was installed near the pump (thermo syphon). This check valve should have been built into the valve OR indicated in the valve literature.
