I normally do not do reviews but I could not let this one pass.Unfortunately, these holdfasts are not what I expected after reading good reviews from others. I cannot fairly rate their performance yet but if their cobbled appearance is any indication they will be returned. Obviously, the molding process for the clamping head, was not quality controlled. There is deep sand pitting on one side and fairly smooth on the other. There's distinct raised lines running down the center, dividing each side where molds were attached together.You'd think the appearance of a simple piece of iron wouldn't be that difficult to master. At least clean up the imperfections before throwing on a coat of paint. If I keep them I will have to file and grind it myself. Normally selling for $30 each piece, I think I already paid for someone else to do that.The clamps crude appearance will not affect their intended use. I take pride in my tools but these holdfasts are an exception. Brand new straight out of the package looking like this is not acceptable.
