Great food at a great price
We have been trying to get our Boston Terrier’s weight down a bit for over a year but he just kept gaining weight and was really gassy on the Hills Science Diet formula our (previous) vet recommended and didn’t know what to do. I decided to research myself and came across this brand which came highly recommended by the Dog Food Advisor. It is full of great, healthy ingredients with one of the lowest fat contents of any dry food, as well as very little filler. Our chunky boy absolutely LOVES this stuff! He is very picky but went right at this every day, while we slowly switched him over. It’s been 3 weeks and he has already lost almost a full lb and, even more importantly, as any Boston Terrier owner will know, it doesn’t upset his stomach or cause gas!! Hallelujah!! His poops are solid, he is much less gassy and loves it. Couldn’t be happier, especially at this price point. He is now down to 28.1lbs and we fully expect him to continue to lose at a healthy pace on this brand of food. The only downside is this food does get a bit crumbly/powdery, especially near the bottom of the bag but the pups don’t seem to mind at all. We will usually mix with a little bit of Weruva Double Dip or Goldie Lox wet food (low fat and high quality as well) and they eat every crumb. Please remember, it is very important to switch your fur babies over to a new food slowly or they will have gastrointestinal issues. Take your time with it and plan it out so you don’t run out of the old before you transition them over completely to the new food. I see lots of comments about gastric issues but if you switch them over slowly, you won’t have this problem. Highly recommend!

Must have for a low-fat kibble (pancreatitis dog here)
My 8-year-old pup developed pancreatitis and suddenly lost a LOT of weight in a short amount of time, to the point where we weren't even sure if she was going to make it. After a number of expensive vet visits she was finally diagnosed and also must take (spendy) enzyme tabs with each meal and be on a low fat diet with smaller meals throughout the day. We're often low on income, but I love my dog so this is worth it. Earlier in her life when I had more money she ate Taste of the Wild, but life situations changed and she had been eating cheap grocery store brands for the past 4 years before becoming sick. I did a fair amount of research and this is the most quality low fat brand I found that works best for our budget and my dog. She LOVES this stuff and it's also easily accessible via Amazon for my location. The improvement with her pancreatic problems have been night and day after buying this. She's gained back her weight and our other dog also enjoys this brand (same age with no known health problems but she was getting chunky anyways, ha). I'm pleased that the first brand I tried was this and that the pups actually enjoy it, so much so that I've opted for subscribe-and-save and I NEVER do that. If you're in an emergency bind like I was, try it. It's generally affordable and worth the world if you love your dog with specific needs.

Love your pets.....you'll love giving them Eagle Pack
I have been a dog owner for 35 years and Eagle Pack is undoubtedly the best dog food I've ever found. My first Basset Hound, Stretch, was suffering from arthritis when he was just 9 years old. The vet said that was normal and that Bassets only live to be 9 - 11 y/o often because the arthritis in their hips gets them down and they just sort of give up. Stretch was my baby, so I was extremely upset to think that I might lose him. I went into a local feed store and the owner told me about Eagle Pack Senior. I started him on it that day and within 30 days, Stretch was hopping around like a puppy. That was in 1999. Stretch lived to be nearly 14 y/o and I honestly credit Eagle Pack for much of that. I continue to feed my dogs and cats Eagle Pack. Currently my oldest dog (Bassett Hound - German Shepard mix) will be 15 y/o on July 4th. Our vets are impressed with how healthy our cats and dogs are. I believe what you feed them has tremendous impact on their overall health and appearance. I've never had a fat animal. Eagle Pack helps them to maintain a healthy weight. Prior to 1999, I fed my dogs a grocery store brand and it went right through them. It might have filled them up hunger wise, but they didn't get much nutrition and pooped out most of it. Probably because there was not enough protein content. This is not the case with EP. I recently came across an article rating dry dog food and yes, Eagle Pack was on the list. And it's American made!

good food
Eagle pack is a good premium food that really doesn't have recalls. The price keeps going up, rather dramatically. I think it is cheaper at the store

Works for my dog with pancreatitis
Great value dog food with the low fat content. I switched my two dogs to this after we had issues with pancreatitis from one dog. With this diet we have had no reoccurring issues and both dogs eat it happily.

My dog is responding very well to this food. He has finished changing from Royal Canine two weeks ago and from the look of his stool, he's doing very well. Also, the food doesn't smell as strongly as RC did, so it's more pleasant to open the container and deliver the daily ration! All that, for a fraction of the price I was paying at the vet's shop. To top it off, I don't have to carry it on my shoulder or in the baby's toddler since it's delivered at my door, so really, I am extremely happy with this subscription.

These were a very good deal when I got them. The product is just what it says on the tin - low fat dog food. It's very obvious when you open it - the kibble is light brown and very dry to the touch. Since I was feeding it to my dog in winter, I supplemented it with some cooking oil to make sure the dog got enough fat. Even at the normal (and reasonable) price, this is a good quality dog food. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy it on sale.

I think this is one of the better budget dog foods Canadians can buy. I give my GSD mix this and he loves it ( for the most part). It's affordable yet the ingredients aren't trash like other products. I feel comfortable feeding my dog this stuff. He's been on it for a while now and I don't see any issues at all.
