The "Swiss Army Knife" of Climate Monitoring
While high-end smart sensors exist, they are often too bulky and expensive for specialized needs. The 4-Pack Mini Digital Hygrometers are the industryโs best "secret weapon." They provide localized, pinpoint data exactly where you need it most. After testing these units against a laboratory-grade hygrometer for 72 hours, here is my expert breakdown. The Engineering: Small Footprint, High Utility The standout feature here is the form factor. At roughly the size of a matchbook, these units are designed to be "tucked away." LCD Clarity: Despite the small size, the high-contrast display makes the Fahrenheit (โ) and Humidity (%) readings legible from several feet away. Installation Versatility: These are designed with a "flange" edge, meaning they can be flush-mounted into a custom-cut hole (perfect for incubators or custom cabinets) or simply tossed into a guitar case or a mason jar. The Accuracy Test In my 10 years of reviewing, I never trust a budget sensor out of the box. I performed a "Salt Test" (the gold standard for hygrometer calibration) on all four units. The results? All four units stayed within +/- 2% of each other and within +/- 3% of the control. For a budget-friendly 4-pack, that level of consistency is remarkable. PROS Incredible Value: You are getting four independent sensors for the price of one name-brand unit. You can monitor your fridge, your closet, your greenhouse, and your instrument case simultaneously. Perfect for Small Spaces: These are small enough to fit inside a 32oz wide-mouth mason jarโa mandatory tool for anyone curing herbs or fermenting foods. Exceptional Battery Life: These units use AG13/LR44 batteries (usually included), which can power the low-energy LCD for over a year of continuous use. No-Frills Interface: There are no buttons to accidentally press and no complex apps to sync. It is "always-on" and ready to read. Rugged Simplicity: No moving parts and a solid plastic housing mean they can survive the high humidity of a reptile tank or the vibration of being moved in a guitar case. CONS Non-Backlit Display: If youโre using these in a dark reptile enclosure or a dimly lit cellar, youโll need a flashlight to read them. The Battery Door: On such small units, the battery compartment can be a bit "fiddly" to open without a small tool. Standard Variance: While consistent, they are not "medical grade." If you need 0.1% precision for a laboratory, look elsewhere. For 99% of consumers, these are perfect. Overall Input The Mini Digital Temperature & Humidity Gauges are a masterclass in "Utility over Frills." They solve the problem of localized climate monitoring in the most efficient way possible. They are reliable, consistent, and small enough to be invisible. In my professional opinion, these are an essential purchase for anyone with a hobby that requires climate precision. Reviewer Pro-Tip: When you first unbox your 4-pack, place all four units next to each other on a counter for 30 minutes. This allows them to "settle" into the room's climate. If one unit is wildly different from the other three, you'll know immediately (though in my experience, SanDisk and other quality suppliers have high quality-control on these). Also, if using in a guitar case, place the sensor near the heel of the neck for the most accurate reading of the wood's environment! Who is this for? Musicians, reptile owners, "Canning/Curing" enthusiasts, gardeners with greenhouses, and homeowners trying to prevent mold in basements or closets.

A great digital mini Hygrometer... let me tell you about it
It is indeed a great digital humidity and temperature meter and I write this in the given order since (in my opinion) it's primarily designed to read the humidity and therefore the humidity reading is much larger on the liquid crystal display (LCD) than the temperature reading. I purchased this because I was primarily interested in the humidity around the house at various locations, with the bedroom and living room being most important. I also have a very large plant that resides inside the house during the winter months and so here too, I'm very interested in the local humidity. I've found the humidity readings to be quite consistant between the four meters (the 4-pack purchased). And euqally important, when compared to a reference that I've established with another meter, after stabilization they're very close to being spot on... really amazing. And the temperature readings are even more accurate and stabilize very quickly. Of course, the fact that the meter is very small in size is nice since this makes it very portable, allowing you to easily move it to your desired location. Some have remarked that an attachment mechanism such as double sided tape should be provided. I personally do not agree, primarily because I wish to move the units around freely. Each meter operates on 2 small LR44 "button" type batteries. Although they are factory installed when you receive the meters, I've checked all eight batteries and they all seem to be fresh, reading somewhere above 1.50 volts. And because this is a LCD display, I expect them to last a reasonably good period of time... guessing at least 8 months but probably more. And when replacement is necessary, they're inexpensive and easy to come by. The cost of the 4-pack mini's , from Amazon, is currently $13.99, in my opinion a real bargain for such a well designed monitoring device. Finally, let me add a word about their customer service. I had an issue with one meter, got in touch with the company, and in less than 24 hours received a full and satisfactory reply. For them, customer satisfaction is real. So if you're looking to monitor your humidity and temperature at various locations around the house, don't think twice about purchasing this product... I highly recommend it.

Good for the price
I bought these to track temperature and humidity differences in our house since whoever designed it was probably hallucinating at the time. I needed something that was cheap and fairly accurate and this fit. It was a good price for four of them, so I wasn't particularly disappointed when one arrived with a dead battery. I just opened the case and had the batteries switch places and it worked for a little longer. Though it gave out after three weeks. It would be very nice if these were sold with either the batteries separate or a pull-out tab to keep the batteries from draining. These stand up on their own, which is very helpful. I had to start putting a couple in the fridge because the thermistor went out and I needed to track the temperature until it could get repaired. These are nice and small and can be placed anywhere without getting in the way. It's also nice that the battery compartment doesn't require a tiny screwdriver to open. It just slides open. A couple weeks after getting them, one of the thermometers started displaying 79F and 63% humidity no matter where it was located, but removing and then reinstalling the batteries seemed to have fixed it. I can't really comment on the accuracy because as I said, our house is a bit eccentric so the temperature changes by several degrees depending on what side of the room we're on, the outside temperature, the angle of the sun, and whether we've summoned the right being from another realms on Thursdays. This is despite a central AC system that is running properly. So for all I know, these are completely off, but their readouts seem to agree within a few degrees and percentage points to the actual temperature and humidity inside, so that's good enough.

Great for the price
I've bought these a few times for my various terrariums. They do the job for the price. They aren't super accurate but close enough for my purposes. These are cheap enough that you can double up and get averages. My picture say 45% for all of them. That pic was taken in my living room. Outside humidity is 53% so that tracks. The AC will drop the humidity inside a bit. My thermostat is set to 72deg F so they're all within a tolerable range of that. If you need high levels of precision, you'll need to buy something much more expensive. If you're looking for ballpark, these are great. I have 4 in my bearded dragon enclosure. 2 on the cool side and 2 on the hot side. This gives me a decent idea of what's going on in there. The screens are easy to read. Nice and dark text. Easy in the light or dark. You CAN NOT recalibrate these. Change the battery if it's getting wonky. If that doesn't work it's time to replace them. Usually after 2 years or so.

Good for mid-range humidity, unusable at the low end
Short story: I bought these to install in PolyDryer containers to replace the OEM unit that doesn't have a temperature indication, but the units I received read too high at low RH to be useable for filament storage monitoring. The humidity readings all within good agreement between themselves and several other devices as long as they were in room ambient conditions in the 45-50% humidity range. However, I bought them to use to monitor 3D printer filament storage conditions where the goal is to go as low as reasonably possible, so I'm more interested in the values at low relative humidity (RH). I ended up wasting time trying to figure out why I couldn't get the humidity in the storage container below 26% (re-drying descant and filament). I swapped between the four and they were consistent at 26%, so I didn't initially think it was these meters. Then I started trying other meters in the same container and they were consistently lower. Eventually, after doing extensive tests and weighing desiccant to be sure it was fully dry, I did an experiment using a small container with a large amount of freshly dried desiccant, no filament, and all the RH meters I could fit. I believe all of the various meters were at their lowest reading (I don't expect them to read accurately below 15% or so, but 26% isn't good enough). After 10 hours in the container, I had the following indications: These rectangular meters (I only used 3 in this test, but the one still in the PolyDryer is also reading 26%): 26% 26% 26% Similar inexpensive round meters: 14% 14% 14% Similar rectangular meter removed from PolyDryer: 10% ETHMEAS wired remote indicating temperature humidity meter: 10% Ambient Weather WH31E Indoor thermo-hygrometer sensor 13% I didn't expect these to be perfectly accurate, but the specifications say they read down to 10% with a +/- 5% accuracy. While I don't have a NIST-traceable humidity instrument for comparison, based on checks against 6 different meters from 4 different brands it appears these are well outside of that specification. 3-stars because these might be fine if you need something for mid range and they are consistent between themselves, but at low RH levels, they read too high to be usable for my needs.

Accurate
Work great, checked them for accuracy and all read the same.

Small and accurate, very little variance.
Overall very happy with price and performance. I was concerned due to the variances some customer reported in readings. However the four I got have very little variance - less than a .5 a degree and no more than 1% humidity in a controlled environment. Very acceptable for this price. The units are somewhat smaller than I envisioned, but with a sharp display that is easy to read as long a you are facing it directly. Given the air ports on the back side, I made sure to not cover them when mounting the units on a wall (I used a thin strip of nanotape). Note that temperature is the smaller number, which might be an issue for folks with severe vision issues. Overall, I'd buy these again. Helped me immensely to identify cold spots in the house!

Work well. Good value
Good value for the cost. I left the 4 in a Boveda 75% calibration package for 24 hours and they were pretty close to bang on, the Calibre IV didn't fare as well. The caliber is adjustable though. The temperature was consistent and in line with a more expensive temp meter. Just note that if exposed to light the meter will heat up, so if expecting a accurate temperature do it in as shielded area. Only critique is the displays can be a bit difficult to read unless looking straight on, looking at a angle and the contrast is difficult

Works well - so far
These seem to work quite well. I opened the package and laid all 4 out next to my existing hydrometer/ thermometer and all 4 were within a degree of temp and a percent humidity of my hydrometer (which I trust). I'm using them in 1L mason jars for curing cannabis. I put 62% boveda packs in the jars and the unit read 63-63% within 24hrs. Does exactly what i need it to do.

Best bang for the buck!
For cheap little RH monitors I am impressed with their accuracy. I tested it using the boveda 75% test pack and the veanic measured 100% accurate. In fact, all four tested 100% accurate. Totally impressed and would definitely recommend.

very dissappointed
They are so small and you have to look at them at just the right angle to see the numbers. Also, I put all four in the same place and they all had drastically different temperatures.
