A German shepherdโthe first dog trained at the famous Seeing Eye guide-dog school for the blindโlooks back at her life. For anyone who has ever wanted a puppy, the DOG DIARIES series tells a dog's story in a new way--from a dog's point of view! Focusing on a different breed for each book, starting with a Golden Retriever and a German Shepherd, these stories are based on true dog stories or on true-to-life situations. With realistic black-and-white illustrations by renowned illustrator Tim Jessel and an factual appendix, dog-loving early chapter book readers will beg for more! Chosen for her intelligence, obedience, and willingness to learn, Kiss knows there is more to life than chasing balls and chewing bones. She is a Noble Creature and Great Things await her. But after spending months learing to take care of her beloved trainer Jack, why does he suddenly want her to take care of Morrisโa strange, clumsy man who wants to wants to change her name to Buddy? Could it be that Morris needs Kiss to take care of him even more than Jack did? Based on a true story, the appendix has facts about German shepherds, the history and training of guide dogs, hosting guide-dog puppies, and much more. Review: Great book - A most beautiful story of the first guide dog. Bought it for my 7 yo child, she easily got through it and loved the story. One of her most favourite books. Review: I loved it - 5 stars. I loved this book. It is great for 9 and 10 year olds. My daughter loved it because she wants to become a dog trainer for dogs to learn how to take care of the blind. She is not blind but she has problems with her eyes so this was great for her. Please keep doing mor of these books

Great
Finally I found a story that doesn't have, what I call, the yawn factor. I will be getting more, and horse diaries too, once I have room on the wardrobe shelves. I always leave money when I see anyone collecting for the blind, I sometimes see two people, (one of whom is blind) with two labs, one black, one golden collecting. Just leave money and you can stroke the dogs since there not, at the time ,working.
