Incredible value...
I have many knives in my collection. I like knives, I collect them because they come in handy for many different purposes. Over the years, I have been looking for that perfect knife to carry around all the time. I looked at my collection and realized that I had a lot of EDC type knives, but I wanted some hard use, heavy duty folders with a strong lock-up and that be carried without too much heft to it. Enter Cold Steel knives...I purchased the Cold Steel Voyager with clip point blade. First thing I noticed was confidence in the hand. It felt robust with solid ergonomics. The handle is well-shaped and my hand just fit really well on it. The lock is simply amazing as there is no blade play at all, and I was really impressed with the fit and finish of this knife. This knife is razor sharp and just bespeaks of a great quality.I will say that extended use of this knife could result in some discomfort as the handle has rather aggressive scales to provide a great grip. This one won't slip. Also, it could be tough on your pocket as the pocket clip is tight. But, these things are fine with me.Could you EDC this knife? Yeah, because it's really not heavy, but it's probably a little bit large for that kind of thing, but you could do it if you wanted to. I love this knife, and it's one of my favorite blades that I own, and for 50 bucks, you cannot beat the value on this knife...period! I highly recommend this knife as a great hard-use, heavy duty knife that one could use camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, and as a survival folding knife. It's just a great knife and every knife guy should have one.

Knife Perfection!
I bought this knife to use as a self defense weapon, and I think it checks all my boxes. It is easy to flick open. It's lighter than the Cold Steel recon 1. The grip fits my hand perfectly compared to Spyderco Yojimbo. If I clench down tight on the Yojimbo it actually hurts my hand, but this Voyager is super comfortable. I have other Voyager knifes and they are perfect too!I think I'll be buying all the Voyagers for my collection! The price is nice and the quality is just as good as the more expensive Cold Steels or any knife for that matter.

Extremely Pleased
I don't usually write reviews, but in this case, I felt it was necessary to share my experience with others. I have been a Benchmade and Spyderco customer for years. I always felt that Cold Steel wasn't up to the quality standard of the two previously mentioned brands. This past year changed my mind. In the last 12 months, I have purchased 5 Benchmades and 1 Spyderco. The Spyderco was so tight, I couldn't flick out the blade. 4 of the 5 Benchmades had issues such as blade centering, uneven blade grinds, not as sharp as it should be, and one even came missing a scale/handle screw. I thought to myself, why is Benchmade sending out such trash? This is their job. I could understand one issue every once in a while, but it got to the point that I was afraid to order a Benchmade, knowing that chances were I would receive a knife with an issue. Enter Cold Steel. I just happened to watch a Cold Steel video on Youtube. It was a review of the Cold Steel Voyager with the new AUS 10a steel. At the beginning of the video, the reviewer flicked out the blade with his thumb, just like you are able to do with an Axis lock. My eyes widened, and watched the rest of the video, intrigued. The Cold Steel Large Voyager has a 4 inch blade, and can be had in a clip point or tanto point blade shape. I loved the looks of the clip point blade. I paid $46. I thought, this less than half the price of the standard Benchmade Griptilian. If it doesn't work out, I'm not out very much money, and I'll know from having held it in my hand, just how good or bad this Cold Steel knife is. I really just wanted to do my own little review of the knife, for my own peace of mind. I ordered from Amazon, and received the Cold Steel Larger Voyager with clip point. The knife came extremely sharp, wasn't missing any screws, the blade was well centered. Off to a good start. I tried to flick the blade open with the thumb stud, and I was able to get it to open, although not as easily as an Axis lock Griptiliian. I contacted Cold Steel customer service and explained to them that I had seen a video where the reviewer was able to flick it open pretty easily. They suggested that I open the blade 90 degrees and leave it open for a few days. I opened my blade 90 degrees and left it on my desk for one week. After seven days, I tried it again. Wow. What a difference. I am no able to open the blade using the thumb stud 95% as easy as an Axis lock. When I press the back lock to close the blade, the blade literally drops freely and almost closes on it's own weight. There are bronze and Teflon washers int he pivot. The Tri-Ad lock is one of the strongest in the knife industry. My Voyager has ZERO blade play, even though I can flick it open and close it easily. The only draw back I have seen so far is the pocket clip tension. The pocket clip is extremely tight. It is not easy to un-clip from my pocket. Half the time, I just drop the Voyager into my pocket, not using the clip. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this Cold Steel Voyager. One last detail: I watched another video on Cold Steel's AUS 10a steel, and the reviewer did some rope cutting tests to test edge retention. After the testing, the reviewer stated that according to his tests, Cold Steel's AUS 10a held it's edge longer than D2, 154 cm, and VG-10. Those are some other company's "standard" steels. If you haven't given Cold Steel a try, what do you have to lose? For $46.00, I couldn't be happier.

Very Good Tactical Folder
This knife came sharp right out of the box with the blade grind being symmetrical. Blade centering is on the money, and the AUS10A blade steel is respectable. The height, thickness, and grind of the clip point provides good cutting power. The Tri-Ad lock is a strong point of this knife. Blade lockup, both side-to-side and front-to-back is solid. However, the Tri-Ad lock is a bit stiff, and it should loosen up with use. I am still able to thumb-flick the blade open with some wrist action, but deployment requires a good amount of force. The handle design allows for a good, comfortable purchase using multiple knife grips. The textured ZYTEL® scales, although not aesthetically pleasing, provides great traction for gripping the knife. The pocket clip follows the contour of the knife handle, and surprisingly, the knife carries well in the pocket in spite of its size and 4.6 oz weight. In summary, the fit, finish, and function of this knife makes it an excellent mid-priced, robust tactical folder. It will definitely see pocket time in my carry rotation.

Excellent value. Heavy duty. Needs a little fine tuning
Pros: Heavy duty, super-strong lock-up. Excellent grind. Came hair popping sharp out of the box. If you're looking for a big blade, here it is. Very grippy scales.Cons: If you want a carry blade, this will take up a lot of pocket space ( I do carry it). It will be a pocket-ripper out of the box (this can be fixed fairly easily). The edges of the scales need a little Dremel work for comfortable hard use. With a little Dremel work this is a great knife. If you're looking for a big, heavy duty folder, take a hard look at this one.
