It has given me ideas and reminded me of things I hadn't thought of. Also the stories are nice to read as well.

Nice Book but...
I received this book a few days ago and have been reading through it, Here are my opinions: Pro: I like that they took the time up front to go through some points on physiology, how the bodies requirements may change with the seasons and a good section on macro nutrients with some guidance on protein intake (g/kg), etc.. There were also some interesting recipes and plenty of nice to look at photos of the dishes. Con: I was disappointed that the level of detail of the beginning of the book was not carried over into the recipes. They went into detail on, for example, how much protein (in grams) you should take in and when but do not provide any basic nutrition facts for any of the recipes. So if you are like me and keep close track of what you eat and how it affects your body, you will be left reading the nutrition facts of every ingredient going into a recipe to try and figure out how much of each macro nutrient you are getting per serving. I understand that she points out up front that you should take the recipes as a starting point and modify them if necessary to suit your taste but some basic nutritional information would have been appreciated. In the end, this book will be on my cookbook shelf and I will definitely try many of the recipes and figure out the nutrition of the ones that work for me. But this will not be my go-to book for training. There are recipe books that include nutrition information per recipe such as "Fuel Your Body: How to Cook and Eat for Peak Performance: 77 Simple, Nutritious, Whole-Food Recipes for Every Athlete" I am not promoting this particular cookbook. I am just using it to illustrate that there are books available on Amazon that do contain nutritional information. This review of course is just my opinion and how useful or not this cookbook is for me. This might be very suitable for you. If however, you track performance metrics as I do to measure your level of fitness and if you are improving or not and rely on the numbers to understand if you are getting the proper amount of nutrition then this book might not be for you.

Good food here.
Great recipes. Good variety. Most of them relatively easy to make.

Not sure what the hype is all about
I appreciate that this book was educational but the recipes weren't amazing. Definitely not one with ingredients that I can find at my local small town grocery store. I wish I could return it

Buyer beware
From the recipe for soft polenta: cook 200 grams “fine polenta” in 800 mL water for 5 minutes, until soft and smooth. Good luck with that! More like 45 minutes. What she meant was “instant polenta,” not “fine polenta,” and no editor caught it. There are oversights like this throughout the book. The photo for bircher muesli shows raw chia seeds sprinkled all over it as garnish, which is completely different from the recipe…and I pity the endurance athlete who consumes raw chia the morning of a workout. There’s a reason you soak it overnight so it can swell to triple its size…

Disagree with another reviewer who said it has overcomplicated recipes. This is my favourite cookbook for balanced and nutritional meals, basically my go-to. I’ve cooked so much in the book - mostly on weeknights!

This book was given as a gift so I haven't actually tried any of the recipes but a quick scan of the book shows that there seems to b a varied selection.
