Otentik Beach Sunshade - with Sandbag Anchors - The Original Sunshade Since 2011

REVISION: I want to update my REVIEW, to GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! First of all, these folks seem nice - they took personal phone calls, answered my emails, reached out to me, offered to let me talk to the owner, etc.YES, we did have some problems with the product (e.g., poles got wobbly, a sandbag ripped), but it was also a decent product other than those issues. I tried to make that clear in my first review - we really liked this product BEFORE we bought it, and even after we bought it. It's portable, and cool, and easy to set up, and big enough for a whole family (especially with 4 poles). My main "issue" was that I had spent $200 for this set-up, and then a few problems occurred after only a few days, and that upset me.BUT, the company could not have been more accommodating. Honestly, I never expected to get all my money back - I told them truthfully that I had used the tent for 1/2 a week, and I thought maybe they would give a partial refund, but they refunded everything. And, even though I had a problem with this tent, I would probably buy another one again - I feel like it is a good product overall! And, beach trips are expensive ! So, maybe $200 for a tent for a week isn't bad, really, but with all the good reviews, I expected to use this for years to come.So, that's my story. Bought it, loved it, used it, had a problem with it, argued with the company a little bit, got my money back, and will probably buy it again next year to see if they have improved on these small issues.Not sure what else to say, but I changed my 1 star review to a 5 star review, mostly for customer service, but also because it was a pretty cool tent. AND, AND, I thought all those reviews and stories online were fake, about people coming up to ask about the tent because it looked cool - but, guess what - somebody really came up and asked about the tent, and I made sure to tell them it was OTENTIK brand, and where they could find it. So, hopefully, even though I had to return this, maybe I created another sale! WOOT WOOT!Based on many good reviews, we purchased this item (and additional poles) from this seller, to use on a beach trip, spending close to $200 for the whole setup. The items arrived in a timely manner, and were well-packed - it's not a bad set-up, everything in small portable bags. So, off we went to the beach. After just 2 days usage, this item was already falling apart. One of the sandbags, which the instructions say to fill to capacity, ripped, and so would no longer hold sand. The elastic in the poles started to stretch, no longer holding two of the poles together. For a $200 item, this seems like shoddy craftsmanship, and it was disappointing to be unable to use it properly during our beach outing. So, then we get back home, and I begin the return process (which is often so easy with Amazon!); however, that is not the case with this seller, who requires that the items be sent back FOR INSPECTION, to make sure it is nit user error (as compared to manufacturing error) that caused the problem. On top of that, the S&H costs to send the items back FOR INSPECTION, comes out of the refund amount! Heck with that, I thought - so I called up this company, because they kindly provide their number and reportedly have great customer service. I spoke with a nice person on the phone who told me "Sure, no problem," we can just send you replacement parts. I thought, "Great! They really are helpful," but then they told me that I would have to PAY FOR the REPLACEMENT parts for the item I had just purchased and which had broken after two days of use. So, I have alternatives here, which is always nice, because I can: 1) Pay to send these back and get them inspected and perhaps be told that it is my own fault that these items fell apart after 2 days; or, 2) pay to have new items shipped to me to replace the new items I just bought a few weeks back. So, that's my story, the moral of which is: DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY, UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR VACATION TO BE RUINED, YOUR TRUST IN BUYING NEW ITEMS FROM SEEMINGLY REPUTABLE COMPANIES RUINED, AND YOUR NEWLY PURCHASED OTENTIK SUNSHADE TO BE RUINED AFTER JUST A FEW DAYS OF USE. AVOID THIS SELLER, FIND ANOTHER COMPANY and PRODUCT!

We’ve used the Otentik Beach Sunshade three times in Gulf Shores, including in heavy winds, and it’s holding up amazingly well! The fabric is strong, and the design provides great durability. It easily fit my 6'4" husband, two 6' sons, and myself with extra room to spare. We did purchase two extra poles, which helped with versatility. Setup and takedown are super easy, and for extra wind resistance, I recommend burying the sandbags after filling them. A fantastic, lightweight, and durable sunshade—highly recommend!

We used this for a 3 day beach trip. We had day where it was extremely windy and this challenging to set up. By the end of the day one of the poles had bent from the force of the wind. The other days it was good though, with a nice amount of shade.

I've had so many people ask me about this canopy! I should buy extras and sell them at the beach!!!Very easy to put up, very portable, and very durable. I love how light it is and how little precious room it takes up in our car for our beach trips. Do yourself a favor and get an extra set of poles. Having it propped up on all 4 corners is a game changer!

This is good quality fabric and easy to use up at the beach. Also is lightweight. I packed it in my suitcase for a Florida trip.

Simply not an option on a windy day. Don’t bother. But small, lightweight and easy to assemble.

We know this product from friends, and finally we got one for ourselves. Sooo easy to use in the beach and you can also move it to the right direction so you have better shade

We have purchased a few of these, not because they break (they haven't), but because we started with the smallest one and have upgraded each year to a bigger one.Works great as long as you follow the directions really well if it's a windy day (STRETCH the top out really well before putting the poles up). If it's not windy, set up is a bit more forgiving.We are big fans, a single adult can put this up and take it down. It goes faster with two or more if they know what they are doing.
