This thing is a beast.
I have a smaller, plastic version of the Dewalt Vac (DXV09PA), so when I went looking for something to detail my new-to-me Toyota RAV4 TRD with, I decided on this one. It was kind of a toss up between this one and a comparably spec'd Vacmaster. After reading about 7,532,126 reviews all over the Internet, and seeing the rave reviews for this one, and a few complaints about the Vacmaster, I opted for the Dewalt.Let me tell you, this thing does NOT disappoint. It has ridiculous suction. I bought it specifically for my car, and I have dogs, so being able to pull dog hair out of carpet is a key feature. It does. Obviously, it's not perfect. Stuff that is REALLY freaking stuck into the carpet is going to have to be loosened up first, but I did very little hand plucking of dog hair from the seats (pleather) and the carpet. Just the occasional recalcitrant dog hair that wouldn't budge.Comes with the usual attachments you'd expect. I added a car detailing attachment kit. With a little nozzle on there you can practically pull out the seats with it. I exaggerate a tad, but seriously, it's got power. In theory, it has the same 5.0 peak HP, but it far outperforms the DXV09PA. I used both side by side, and there's no comparison. My only nitpick with the Dewalt wet/dry vacs is the ridiculously short cord on all of them. But, hey, extension cords for the win. Love the washable/reusable filters, which was one of the key reasons I retired my Craftsman and my Rigid shop vac. I cannot find suitable filters anymore. Filters they say fit just don't. After a couple years use, can't find filters....they are useless space wasters in the garage.Maneuverability....well, it's a barrel on wheels, so it's not great. I dumped it over a couple of times trying to move it. It is what it is. I have yet to find a vac that handles like a Ferrari anyway. Not a show stopper for me.In general, this is an awesome vac. You won't be disappointed.

Very well constructed and designed machine.
I initially ordered a 20-gallon Craftsman, but it arrived with a broken part and I wasn't enthused about the design and quality. I returned it and after doing additional research found this vacuum from Dewalt. It arrived in perfect working condition and went together in under 2 minutes. I'm impressed with the quality of the materials and design. The vacuum functions well and is much easier to maneuver than the Craftsman. There's a good reason this product has the highest rating of any shop vac, it's simply a better product than any other one in this price range.

The Cadillac Of Shop Vac's!
I have had many shop vac's that we use commercially in a grooming salon on a daily basis, we vacume up a A LOT of hair.Clipped hair is very tough on shop vac's as it is such fine particles and because of the volume we do it is not feasible to use a bag to preserve the filter system. We can usually get about 3 years out of one and then it needs replaced.Last year I bought the smaller version of this same vac for our kennel area and from first use it was so far superior to any other vac we have had.Smooth quiet operation with maximum suction on all surfaces going from tile to carpet doormats without changing a tool. Not to mention the hoses are large from the tank to the tool no more clogging of materials!I will always purchase DeWalt shop vac's from now on, a truly superior product.

Dent right out of the box
I bought this DeWalt based on the reviews instead of going with the Shop Vac of which I have owned 2. I can’t tell you how disappointed I was to find I spent over $100 for this unit and only to find a nice sized DENT in the can.

Works perfectly. Durable as anything.
What can I say.It started out looking pretty, but I’ve used it extensively and it great!Wonderful suction, great attachments. Long enough power cord to do the job, but not get in the way.Attachment bag is the best idea!
