The 7G dye is true to its name-medium golden blonde or "golden apricot" if you look at the color chart for Clairol Soy4Plex Liquicolor Permanente. There's nothing more frustrating than spending time and money dyeing your hair only to have it come out a different color than you wanted and damaged. However, this hair dye, when mixed with 20 volume developer, slightly lightened my dirty blonde/light brown hair to a warm medium blonde. It came out very golden but not orange like a lot of hair dyes do to my hair. My hair didn't seem damaged by this dye either. This creme dye is less damaging than the liquid hair dye, because it seems to contain conditioner and has much less of an ammonia smell. I've never been so pleased with the results of hair dye before, and I've had to experiment with many hair dyes! If you're on the fence, buy this one.

This is an excellent professional-grade hair color for at-home use! I love the 4N shade, it effectively covers my grey roots and leaves my hair silky and shiny. You'll need to purchase a 20-volume developer separately to use it. My hair color is dark brown with some natural highlights.
