Rounded Cedar Deck Rail Planter Large

So happy with my cedar railing planters - great craftsmanship!! They attach securely to the front porch railing without needing to use screws although screws are provided. To extend their life I stained and sealed them and lined the inside with plastic that had a few holes for drainage. No need to drill drainage holes in the bottom because the wood slats naturally drain. I was very pleased with how they turned out. They look lovely full of flowers and herbs on the front porch railing of our New Hampshire country home. I also like that they are made in the USA in Maine. Delivery was fast.

I found these when searching for rail planters. Most options were plastic or had metal hooks that latch to the rail. I love that these are natural wood. I stained mine, but I think they would look good natural as well. They're sturdy, were perfectly measured for either 4" or 6" railings. They really class up a porch. And they came SO FAST. I couldn't believe it! All the way from Maine to Texas in less than a week. I ordered two and now I'm about to order two more.

Works and looks great. At first I thought it wouldn't fit on my deck rail but you just have to give it a good whack.

This is a very sturdy, all-wood planter box. It’s beautiful and I’m sure it will show off my flowers very nicely! I’m glad I bought this wooden one after 2 or 3 plastic ones didn’t even last a season. This planter comes with two screws to fasten it to the deck rails through the bottom of the planter—-such a great idea!

These planters are AMAZING! And yes, they can fit either the 2x4 or 6x6 deck railings. I attached a picture of the base so can see how that would work. It does come with screws so you can permanently attach it to the deck rail, but honestly these planters are HEAVY when filled with dirt and flowers and you really dont have to. I did not screw mine in and they do not move - even on windy days. They come built, but not stained - which I prefer. I went to walmart and picked the stain you see in the pictures. They drain water very well. I have gotten so many compliments on these planters that I will be purchasing additional ones when I get a chance. I highly recommend.

There was nothing to assemble. Item was very well packaged. It's quite sturdy, well made, very attractive. Applied two coats of clear varnish to help keep the look. Getting plants this week and can't wait to put them in my new planters!

It is not put together well. It is coming apart where it is nailed together. I doubt if these will hold up long. Disappointed after paying this much

I think the picture doesn’t quite capture how rough the sides are. The photo makes it look like the sides are smooth when they are actually more like rough bark. The look is more “log cabin-like” than I expected.
