Robust (and beautiful, if installed competently)
Beware of cheap imitations! This is the real deal.We tried to save £2.50 and forgot to read the reviews on a rival product to this. That other product snapped in first test. This bolt ain't going nowhere. The action is amazingly smooth, the finish is perfect, it's a lock, it locks, what's not to like? It even comes with a variety of slots to suit your frame/installation.My only caution to you is that it comes with old fashioned screws for a flat head screwdriver. This will almost certainly be for aesthetic reasons, although you could substitute your own posidrive head screws, of course.I went with the shiny screws provided, and installed it myself (an amateur). My caution to my fellow DIY enthusiast is to please take care. Despite being reasonably competent, my screwdriver slipped a couple of times. The nature of such screwdriver tips is that both sides are sharp. As a result, I scratched the surface of the previously perfect Genuine Carlisle Brass.Gutted. Though still very content with the final result.

Good quality
First thing I noticed is that this item is nice and solid with a good weight to it. The lock parts and screws are in separate heat sealed bags ready for installation. All I needed was an awl, a slot head screwdriver a spirit level and a pencil for marking up a straight line and screw holes. The screws were good quality brass screws and I had no problem fitting them.Good value for money, solid with a lovely smooth sliding action and a great look.

Good quality bolt, poor quality screws
Two of the screw heads snapped off screwing into my door, this happened despite drilling a 2.0mm pilot hole. I have used other good quality screws to fix instead but I’m stuck with an unsightly broken screw slightly sticking out above the lock. Despite this it looks to be good quality, machining of sliding surfaces is evident and the tolerances are good ensuring the sliding action of the bolt works well. It also looks very nice, pity about the poor quality screws.

Great looking quality product.
Quality ironmongery. Solid, robust and easy to install. What I was not expecting were the two extra keeps for use in different circumstances to the main keep that is shown in the product photos. As the door opened out of the room the lock was fitted in I used a recessed keep with angle. See photo. There was also a flat rectangle for securing in a flat surface. Saved me a lot of unsightly chopping out.Good finish with matching screws.

Excellent quality sturdy lock
This is a top quality robust lock that looks good and is a reasonable price. It comes with three receiving plates in different styles which are also high quality although I didn’t need them for my use case. My use didn’t need high security but if well installed this thing would stand up to modestly determined attack.I would bet that it will last 10+ years.

Nice bolt - pity about the screws
The bolt is excellent - good quality solid brass and perfect for a shed door or similar. The only let-down are the screws provided: they LOOK like brass, but they are actually poor-quality plated steel, which started to rust badly almost immediately. I had to quickly replace them with real brass screws. Given that the latter only cost 60p, it seems silly that the manufacturer of the bolt spoiled their otherwise excellent product by providing sub-standard screws.
