picked this up to repot a couple of Phalaenopsis orchids and mount a fern, and it’s been excellent so far. The sphagnum moss is soft, long-fibered, and clean — no debris or twigs mixed in, which I really appreciate. It holds moisture beautifully but still drains well, so I haven’t had any issues with root rot, which was my biggest worry going in. I soaked a handful in water for about 10 minutes before use, and it plumped up nicely and was easy to work with — wrapping around roots for repotting and packing into a hanging basket without falling apart. My orchid roots have stayed healthy and green, and I’ve noticed less transplant shock compared to the last moss I used. 190 cubic inches sounds small, but it goes further than you’d think once hydrated — plenty for a few medium pots or one hanging basket with extra to spare. Will definitely repurchase when I expand my plant collection.

The moss is much more superior than the other one. So technically, the one in the nepenthes cutting, the carnivorous plant cutting, is the old spagnum that I recently bought. This, the one that's empty, just the spagnum pot, is the new sphagnum. And it's obviously more superior, and there's no pieces that will be mold prone, and very little bit of other random twig ratio compared to the amount. And there isn't any annoying mud pieces, unlike my older sphagnum. So this is something that I would reorder until I could get a New Zealand sphagnum.

I have ordered this moss several times over a year ago and it’s a good product. However, I just ordered another bundle and it’s a lot less in the package than before. At least a third less. The original packages were tightly packed in the plastic and I could do 2 moss poles. Now, I can only do 1.

Was healthy. No mix, ( as it shouldn’t 😊). Fair price for quality. No dirt ( as it shouldn’t). Not much expansion but I wasn’t expecting that. It was great! It soaked up the water instantly while remaining the same size. It arrived a day early.

Bought this to fill my DIY moss pole (purchased the moss pole kit on Amazon) and it was perfect. I purchased 2 as I needed a moss pole almost 6’ tall. Ended up using about one and 1/3 packages of the sphagum moss. It was very easy to soak it in a container then add to the pole as I made it. I mist mine daily to keep it slightly moist and give it a good drink of water weekly from the top and throughout the length of the pole.
