Dorman604-251 HVAC Blend Door Actuator Compatible with Select Ford Models

Our 2011 Ford Fiesta SE developed a persistent clicking problem emanating from the dash area upon starting the car. An online search revealed that this is a fairly common problem in certain Fords and results from a failed blend door actuator, one of two. The more common failure is the easier of the two to remedy; it is the actuator behind the glove box and, although tricky, can be done at home with minimal disassembly and with common metric tools. Upon disassembly of the failed actuator, I found that the teeth of the plastic gear that the actuator uses to open-&-close the vent were sheared off and the click-click-click I heard were the teeth trying to engage when the A/C was turned on.This Dorman actuator was in stock and very reasonably priced, about one-third of the price for an OEM Ford-branded actuator, like the one that initially had failed. Although the overall dimensions differed from the OEM part, it fit and functioned perfectly and everything works and is silent. I am very pleased with the results. Installation is a bit tricky because space is cramped. I strongly recommend that your research online how to do this and that you tape your screws to your Philips head bit and tape your bit into a small ratchet wrench to detach and attach the actuator without dropping either the screws or your bit into the abyss of your dash. Tape the screws loosely, just enough to hold them onto the bit until they gain purchase; the tape will shear off once you pull on it. Tape the bit tightly; you do not want it to detach until your job is done.Have fun! and save money! You can do it.

I recently replaced the driver's side actuator (what a battle that was!) with a 604-400 (fit perfect, btw) on our '19 Fiesta, also bought from Amazon.Passenger side failed at the same time; 604-251 is the passenger side replacement.Remove the glovebox and VOILA! There it is.Worlds easier to replace than the driver's side.Once again, this Dorman replacement felt "heavier" and more substantial, fit perfect and is working fantastic.Thanks!

This is a perfect fit replacement for the passenger side air blend door motor which controls MAX A/C. It is part number 604-251; located behind the glove box. Easy to get at after removing the glove box but there is one screw that is a little tough to get out. Part number 604-400 is the motor that controls dash ducts, floor and defrost settings. Replacing this unit is very difficult and not for the feint of heart! There are You Tube videos that show how it is done.

This part was not as easy to install as one might think. Videos on how to show the instructions good enough, but the reach way under the dash calls for very nimble hands and fingers to get screws in and out. Part has functioned fine for about 4 months now.

The PS actuator is a ten minute ordeal, the DS one, pack a lunch.Gets rid of the click when the AC selection is made.

It was easy to install and work perfectly. But literally the date after I could return it. The part broke and made the worse noise.

Bought for my 2011 Ford Fiesta after hearing loud rhythmic clicking noise from glove compartment. Great value quality product installed a year and a half ago and still going strong using the ac daily in the Arizona heat. Just follow the you tube videos. FYI, Small right angle screw driver from harbor freight will make your install in this fiesta much easier!

Very easy to install on the passenger side (glove box side) of my 2018 Ford Fiesta. Worked right away! No more banging sound.

I'm returning the item. Makes a clicking noise after installation. Sounds like the gears inside are broken

Purchased damaged item that doesn't even work. Was a pain to get in and now stuck with it. do not waste your money, get one from your mechanic instead.
