SUUNTO Core, Outdoor Sports Watch, Multiple Styles/Colors

The Suunto Core series, in my opinion, is one of the best watches anyone can buy. I have 2. The Core Classic and the Core Alpha Stealth. One thing to be aware of: the Core Alpha Stealth number color is NOT red. The backlight is red. The strap is what I really like,personally. It's a durable nylon and not a rubber or silicone. Also, the watch is durable BUT, be aware that the crystal can scratch easily. I always wear my watch with the face inward so it's not much of an issue for me. If you wear your watch with the face out, I suggest a protective cover like the kind used on cell phones.

It’s simple to use, looks great, and is built solid. The brightness is low but it’s intentional so keep that in mind. Make sure to read the manual. Setting altitude and declination were easy and super helpful for real use.

After buying the refurbished version of the suunto core alpha, I really liked the light weight, which was really similar to the weight of an normal apple watch. This is a great feature for me since I have weak wrists, so even though I might be putting this on for the entire day, there was little to no wrist pain for the majority of the time. The only reason that I’m giving four stars instead of five is because of the standard watch strap that comes with the new watch. The textile strap that comes with the new watch started to smell with a distinct bad odor after going through the shower several times, and I had to replace the straps with off-market silicone strap, which is less flexible and quite hard on my wrist. If there was a textile strap that was waterproof and odor-proof, this watch would have been a perfect companion for me. When it came to battery life, I had to buy the watch batteries online, and by turning the watch cap in the back with a quarter, I can easily replace the batteries, which last about an year, but it seems to last less than that since I frequently used the night light since I would be checking the time during the night and early mornings with this watch so that I can avoid using the phone during my sleeping period. I think the fit for this watch became a little bit strained after the strap replacement, and the value for money is still going strong since even the refurbished version is lasting me for more than two years due to consistent battery replacement (If you like using this watch, I would recommend that you buy batteries for this watch on bulk, so that you don’t have to go buy batteries every time the watch goes out). Make sure to watch the youtube video to learn how to turn the chime off so that you don’t have to hear a beep every time you press on a button, and I didn’t actually test out the reliability of the compass and the altimeter function, but I did hear that it is not 100% reliable, which I might supplement by using any product with navigational capabilities from Garmin. The readability of this watch is pretty clear regardless of the time of day and this is a really reliable watch given that it went through many scrapes and bruises during these two years and it functions fine. Really like this watch, and I hope that I’ll be able to use this watch for many more years to come!

This is an amazing watch one of my favorites and I've had AND still own a lot of watches, but this is by far my favorite and go to. t has everything you need and nothing you don't. not over done and just basic enough not to grab attention.

Bought this “like new” and basically it was NEW for all intents and purposes. Could not see any signs of wear. Included all printed materials, manuals etc. All functions as intended and all features work. There is a little bit of a learning curve on all of the functions which will take a few minutes to figure out. The display is a little dark and it is hard to read symbols as they are tiny. The temp function seems to about 6 degrees off even when placed upside down or hanging by buckle with no part of the Watch body touching anything. The other features seem to work well. The compass is very accurate and has been checked against my military issue compass. I am dubious about the water resistances of this watch after seeing the way it is sealed in the battery compartment. The display is visual with NVG (when back light is on) even without the IR illuminator. It does reflect the IR back to you so be careful when you have the illuminator activated. The display is not viewable without the back light when using NVG. Overall it is a great watch and well worth the price. The battery life is a little bit of a concern but the ease of replacement makes up for the 6-10 month battery life. We will see if the mil spec certification is actually valid and warranted in time.

DOES NOT Convert to MILS ( just wanted to make sure that was known) other models of this watch due allow for the unit conversion but not this specific one. Decent watch otherwise is quiet and low light while being easy to read.

Works amazing, only down side is the bracelet size: it is not well fitted for small wrists.

Great watch for unlimited outdoor activities, gotta get use to the operation of the watch, and you can exploit all and everyone of the great features. The dial might not be the cup of tea of many but it's meant to be as a tactical watch. Weather pressure it's always spot on, looks are too. Daily user here.
