RuuviTag Pro 3in1 Wireless Bluetooth Sensor

I placed the sensor at the upper rear of the sauna, and verified the accuracy using a Flir thermal imager and analog temperature gauge. If you look at the photo with the thermal imager, you’ll notice heat can vary quite-a-bit around the sensor (white/red is hot to cooler blue). IMO, concerning other reviews that use a Flir to measure the accuracy, it’s not useful to measure the surface temperature of the device, but the surfaces in close proximity of it. The hard plastic shell of the device will run at a different temperature than cedar wood, (which the sauna surface is in my case). The ruling is still out on effectively measuring humidity. Concerning the Hygrometer (humidity) aspect of the device, you would need to have the device in the general area of your body to get a accurate/useful reading, and that bit is not as important as temperature is. I can get that reading from the analog gauge (see photos). Setup in the Ruuvi app was very straightforward and had acceptable range between the sauna and house, which is just a few feet outside in the rear yard. Anyone who has a sauna knows how important it is to open the door only once while getting in to use it, otherwise loose 5-10min of heating checking the temperature gauge that is inside the sauna. For my purposes, I see no need for improvement. I can say this guy works in temperatures up to at least 190° which makes it a good buy for saunas.

These work great, although they are expensive. Easy to setup. Used one for indoor temp and one for outdoor temp at my off-grid cabin in the woods. Connected via the Cerbo GX on my Victron solar system.

Some people say that it doesn’t work in their refrigerator or freezer. A refrigerator forms a good faraday shield and blocks bluetooth. An unrealistic expectation is not a failure of a device.

I have several of these for monitoring everything from my fridgerator to my RV garage. Very accurate and reliable that also integrate with my Victron solar installment in my RV.

I have this in my safe, I can “see” the temperature and humidity inside the safe without opening it up! Could do motion, but have that turned off for now!

We have 3 of these Ruuvi Tags in our trailer to monitor interior, a storage compartment and refrigerator temps and they work connected to out Victron Cerbo to monitor remotely. Battery life.is excellent and easily replaceable.

Cool but not worth the high price. Also being installed in a sauna is a bummer because the bluetooth signal struggles to get past the foil vapor barrier, so you have to be in the sauna for the bluetooth to work which defeats the purpose.
