Have you ever wondered what your street was like thousands of years ago? This illustrated history book for children takes you on a 12,000-year journey to find out the story of a single street. Think of the street you live on. Now think of how it may have looked in the Stone Age in 10,000 BCE, or in Victorian times during the Industrial Revolution, or how it may look 50 years from now. A Street Through Time takes you on a time-traveling journey that you won't forget. Highly detailed illustrations bring 15 key periods in time to life. You will see magnificent buildings go up and come down, new churches built on the site of ancient temples, wooden bridges destroyed and then remade in stone, and statues demolished then unearthed many years later. You'll find out how people lived long ago - the tools they used, what they wore, and what they did all day. Revised and updated for a new generation, A Street Through Time now includes a look at the street 50 years in the future.

Fantastic for young (and older!) history lovers
A brilliant find for my six-year-old, who's mad about history. Beautifully illustrated and really well written - it does a great job helping little minds understand how things change over time. Highly recommend for curious kids.

Superb for parents and children alike.
So pleased to have found this book, that I ordered another copy. The graphics are superb, detail wonderful. Intelligently, the hillside in the background has a clear profile so it can be recognised by youngsters as the pages and time line continue.Beginning with prehistoric life, the events of one location move through early Britain, through the first and second millennia, to futuristic possibilities. Historical detailing with dress, building structure and profession are shown. Those given are within a childโs experience, such as the early dentist. What I particularly liked with each page, was the potential discussion opportunity between family members. Role play and dressing up ideas streamed through as I browsed through the pages. This is for my grandson, who will go through this with his parents, but I will want to go through the book with him too - the pages are so excitingly done. Maybe Iโll look through the pages of my second copy again!Fully recommended and partners well with books about childrenโs lives around the world.

Perfect to go along our History curriculum, the Lote Tree
Love it ! I just black out the people using toilet, like their actual bottoms. And put a flap, so my children understand that while we can study the evolution of toilet during a class, it is not something to look at for fun. Protecting their little hearts first.

Illustrated History since the Beginning of Man!
When my son was small, we bought this book at one of those long-lost stores like Imaginarium. He absolutely loved it and we read it together many times. The cover eventually fell off from overuse. He is now 33, and when I told him I had found an updated version online, he was thrilled. It's just like the old one, from the history standpoint, but includes a 2020s section at the end that is possibly accurate. This book is a true gem, and contains wonderful information throughout the ages, as to where we came from, and where we are likely going. The illustrations are superb. I highly recommend this book for children through adulthood. Fun fact: the Romans really figured out a lot.
