Sony 1TB External Hard Drive (Blue)

1TB mentioned on the box, however available storage is 960GB only. But worth for money.(I purchased this product in Amazon Great Indian Festival for the period 26/09/2019 to 06/10/2019). Further genuine product received with 3 years Sony warranty card. Thanks to seller. In box it is mentioned as "Made in Japan". File transfer speed also excellent. Really very happy about this product. Thank you Amazon.

Hdd is good, good write speeds and better read speeds.Capacity is wysiwyg. Best part no bloat wares inside. Plain empty ntfs formatted drive.I had no issue formatting mine to btrfs and use with my Ubuntu.Only thing is it feels too plastic-y and cheap to touch.Prolong use may vary due to poor heat dissipation and lower shock absorption.Other than that decent price (cheaper than most in its class) and is bang for its price. And it's Sony so quality is guaranteed.If you want those extra bloat and software features that usually comes with hdd, this won't have it. (and mostly u don't need it)

I trust sony in terms for durability, hardware and the drive NEVER EVER getting corrupted (provided one uses a good antivirus). The cable is sturdy. The drive does not heat up. In the past, I have dropped Sony HD's multiple times (without any cover etc) and they work just fine. I have even been guilty of picking up my laptop without realizing the HD is still attached and ended up banging the HD against something. And even after all this abuse, the previous Sony HD's are still working when so many others have died (even WD). I expect nothing less from this one. After destroying 2 HD's from other brands in this manner, I have now become extremely careful and have not harmed any more hard disks for the past 1.5 years.Nothing special about the storage capacity. It says 1TB, you get 1TB (or 931 GB as is the norm).Sony always seems a bit pricey at first. However, in the long run, it has always turned out as value for money.What I was most disappointed by was the transfer speed. The website claims it is 100Mbps. However, I am only getting 25-30 Mbps. Even after trying all the adjustments and recommendations and trying at least 50 transfers on even the newest laptop. The speed does not go beyond 30 Mbps. For me, this not a big deal. I am disappointed as the specs are not upheld but I don't really care about speed. However, for some people, it might be a dealbreaker and so I wanted to let everyone know. If transfer speed is not an issue, I cannot recommend this HD enough.

Very nice equipment thankfully supported on my nokia 6.1 plus talking about it has high speed when you transfer files individually but when a lot of files are transferred it gives slowl speed it requires few seconds to recognize the hard disk due to its large capacity you'll need to formatIt before using
