Can i activate the sim in usa or i have to activate once i land in eurpe?

Yes, you can activate the sim card in question while in USA.

Can i use social network(facebook, whatsapp, google maps, etc) with this 12 gb ?

Yes, it worked fine for me for whatever applications that use data, such as google maps and internet, that I used from my phone.

If i call or text the USA or italy from italy using this service is there additional cost?

It is misleading the description of the product says that you can call UK and European numbers. "12GB data to use in 71 destinations, 3000 voice mins and 3000 texts can ONLY be used to call UK numbers, AND European numbers WHILST you are in Europe". I just bought the card, should i return if i cannot make calls from Spain and Italy to the local numbers?

Is it already activated and is there a plan or fee for me to pay?

No need to activate or register, it is already preloaded with 12GB data, 3000 minutes and 3000 texts ready to use for 30 days. This bundled will start whenever you insert the SIM into an unlocked phone.
