Easy to Follow Yummy Recipes
You are what you eat. Most of us want to stay healthy and know that eating well is smart, but we don t usually have the time to cook healthy meals. The only problem with this book is the title that includes the word " diet. " I see it more as a " cookbook. " ...A journey to healthy eating. If you loose weight, great, but I just see good recipes that lead to healthier living.

Great Cookbook, Could Be Better
I like the cookbook and the recipes in it. The cookbook opens my imagination to a different way of cooking. The book could be better though. I wish it would show the calories with each recipe. Another thing to be aware of is: even though Dr Travis says you can cook all these meals faster than you can go through a drive-thru, that is not exactly true. Most meals in the books you can make in 5 to 10 minutes. But it does not take in account the prep time to some of the meals. Example would be to make fish tacos. Fish tacos could be put together in 5 to 10 minutes, but the salsa you have to make to go with the fish tacos takes much much longer. The salsa has to be prepared earlier and put in the fridge for a little while.

Index and Pictures, Pease
The first thing I miss is an Index. It takes too much time to go through the Table of Contents. Secondly, I wish the book had more pictures along side the recipes. I saw the Eggocado recipe (called Avocado Breakfast Boat in the book) on The Doctor's TV Show, but had trouble finding the recipe in the book. However, I saw the same recipe in Dr. Oz's new magazine with a beautiful picture and the picture is really what convinced me to try the dish. Without more pictures throughout the book, the pages just get boring. I really like the information in the Introduction and the Sidebars.

No nutritional info, not good!
Just got this book and made the Eggplant Parmesan which was very good. Have several more dishes I am anxious to make. I like that there are normal ingredients in the recipes. I would have given this book 5 stars if there was nutriential information included in the recipes. How can a doctor forget to add something as important as this? There are no serving sizes or how many servings the recipe makes. If you are counting calories or carbohydrate intake I would not recommend this book. I hope the other recipes do not disappoint.

Recipes not linked to the diet plan servings
This is supposed to be a companion to the Doctor's Diet book yet completely drops the ball by not providing a link to the servings of the diet. Adding in how many servings of the various proteins, fruits, vegetables, and flex time foods would have made it much more useful. In some cases there aren't even serving numbers given which is big for dieters. I'm glad your recipe makes 30 falafel but how many am I supposed to eat? I bought the book so I wouldn't have to break down recipes and do the calculations for everything I cook - without those it is just another cookbook and there isn't anything new or novel to justify purchasing.

I ordered this book and received way ahead of delivery time. I been reading the book and even thou I am a rookie in terms of following a diet I do find the insight of this book very interesting and helpful to start the first steps toward a better health. I just wish it has more recipes, but the fact is that at this point I need to focus more about information that take me where I want and this book simply does that. In conclusion, I would strongly suggest this book to anyone who is initially looking forward to get their life back and start a healthy life style. Great book in general, I give a 5 star.

GREAT for those in metro areas
While I appreciate the effort Dr Travis put into this book and I am aware that it has helped countless others, for me, I was disappointed. His psychology is excellent and he presents an excellent argument of healthy eating not only to control weight but to add to quality of life; however, the menus and recipes were useless for me. I live in a very mountainous area where super markets are rare and those that are within range do not carry the sophisticated ingredients he requires. In addition, all of the attention to the smoothies turns me off completely. The consistency of a smoothly is unpleasant to me and there again, I have no access to many of the ingredients, I have recommended this book to friends in metro areas where they will have easy access to the ingredients. My sister has had excellent results from following this book. I only wish that it had been as good for me.

The recipes are OK, but don’t bother trying them if you’re on a budget. You can get way more nutritional recipes (and diet-friendly) online for free than you can here, and you don’t have to break the bank for them either.

Tasty recipes easy to follow
Straight forward tasty recipes with easily obtained ingredients. They are quick, easy to follow even for a novice. Good tips also.

just got this cookbook- initial opinion
First the bad part: who proof read this book as I am sure sof is actually soft with a T or sofened is softened and I'm french.The good part : I read about the lack of pics but then I saw multiples ways of making 1 recipe which is exactly the way I cook so the lack of pics actually makes it easier to follow the options. This book appeals to my cupboard and fridge inventory. Minimal amount of ingredients also awesome. ( where were you when I was feeding 4 kids) . I do not use a microwave so I will change it up or use snother recipe. Its so exciting to see that now I have guidelines to better use what I already have in my home. KUDOS Dr T this is an easy read.PS : I will give an update after I see my results
