Great design and product
These little Cam locks are brilliant. They're perfect for parachord. I bought a couple for camping and liked them so much I bought about 6 more. I use them to tie down the poles of the tarp over the kitchen area. Having the cam makes it very easy to adjust the tension on the poles, which adjusts the tension on the tarp. I like that they're all metal and no plastic parts because this makes them very sturdy. Plus they'll last a long time. I also use a set for setting up cross lines between trees, either for setting up a clothes line for items to dry or to act at the peak of the tarp. The cam makes it very easy to tighten, where in the past I would have tied a knot, making it hard to get tight and even harder to un-do. We've all put up drying lines, loaded them with wet towels, only to see them sag too much causing items to slide to the middle and force you to re-tighten the line. This makes it so easy. These are overkill for support lines on tents. You could use them, but I think the smaller plastic versions might be just as good unless you were planning to be in really heavy wind. Be aware, there are limitations on the diameter of rope you can use with these. I believe it's 2MM to 6MM. So many standard ropes won't work well. As I mentioned earlier, Parachord works perfectly. Also be aware they make many tiers of parachord. The standard stuff you see in Home Depot might only have a strength of 60 - 160lbs, where you can buy parachord online that goes up to 700lbs....yet has the same diameter. It might be the difference between spending $3 for 100ft vs $9 for 100ft....so for $6 more why not get something much stronger. I haven't tried using these to tie down items on the roof rack (i.e. ladder or our sea kayaks) but I might give it a try. If I have an epic fail, I'll be sure to update my review. As with any cam or strap you put outside your car to hold gear down, make sure you tie a backup knot on the tag end, securing the tag to the primary rope. It's just in case a cam slips. I do this today with my Thule straps. In 15 years of having items like kayaks on my car roof rack, I've had them slip twice. Usually due to getting wet and the cam not fully gripping the strap. The simple knot saved everything. So please have a back-up knot for this as well.

Get off the fence and buy it!
Bought this as a gift for someone and now I am back buying myself a few. So handy! Perfect size and the jam holds the cordage great. They are a bit pricy and there are some cheaper plastic models but this one will probably outlast you.

Great device, well built
These are very handy and built to last. Easy to use with the instructions stamped on the device. Pricey, but worth it if you want a quality product.

These things are awesome!
Wow! I love these things! Yeah, they’re kind of spendy, but they’re slick. They work so well, and they’re so easy. I had read quite a few reviews, which were positive. But not for the same brand in the plastic version. I’m using these to hold and tighten sunshade sails that cover our courtyard. I had concerns about the plastic version, so I just spent the money and bought these aluminum ones. I’m glad I did. They are so cool. So much so, that I’m sort of hoping I have a need for more of these somewhere else, just because they are so damn fun, simple, and easy to use. They just work. I really like it when a product just works. It seems so rare anymore, so it was a pleasure to utilize these. They’ve been up for about six weeks. We live in a high wind area, and they showed no signs of wear. What a great product!

Solid, dependable cam
I use these to put a 5 foot Xmas wreath (very heavy) in the gable in the front of my home each year. I've got two eyebolts mounted in the gable that I run the rope through and I attach the rope to two points on the aluminum frame of the wreath. The other end of each rope goes through two of these Camjams. This allows me to avoid climbing up on an 18-ft extension ladder while carrying the heavy wreath. I simply go up the ladder, run the two rope ends through the eyebolts and then pull them through the camjams (which are secured to a tie-down using the built-in carabiner clip). I'm able to put up and take down the wreath by myself now...it used to be a 2-person job. I've used my original set for five years now...and they are in just as good a shape as when brand-new. So that's about 5-6 months of outside use in winter weather which includes (for me) both rain and snow. I highly recommend these...

Perfect for Hanging String Lights
These are a must have for tie downs. I bought two of these to use for tensioning rope that I just hung outdoor string lights in the pool area. Tension can be relaxed to lower the line to a height that can be reached ground level and once installed, lights can be pulled up to a higher taught level. The rope tensioner most importantly gives the lights the support needed to ensure lost-lasting durability.

I have a bunch of nite-ize metal mini s-biners for my key sets (the s-biners are also super useful), & decided to try these Camjam XTs. I concur with the majority of positive reviews; add paracord and you're sorted, quicker and easier than tying knots in many cases. Anyone with a review that contains "learn to tie knots", get a grip (pun intended). I know how to bake bread, but I mostly buy bread from the bakery. I can start a fire with wood shavings and a ferro rod, but I mostly use a bic. "booshcraft snobz" should just go tie some knots, and stop worrying about what other people are using to lash their tarps lol. With the current sale price & the amazon 5+ quantity discount, I paid about CAD $10 + tax each.

This is a sturdy hook/clip. I used two on the attaching my sleephammock. It has a sturdy spring: the mechanism to keep the rope from slipping. Which did it's job each time. Handy when qucikly wanting to adjusting the length.

Jättebra till min Hennessy hammock. Paracorden från hammocken passar utmärkt i dessa och de greppar riktigt bra. Bra kvalitet på material och tillverkningskvalitet.
