Hermitlux Slim Countertop Portable Dishwasher for Small Spaces

I received our new Hermitlux counter top dishwasher yesterday evening, a full 4 days sooner than originally anticipated. It was very well boxed and the dishwasher arrived in perfect condition. I knew from reading other reviews that it was important to measure your counter space to make sure this item would fit. I new ahead of time that this wouldn't fit under my cupboards, so I had made space on the counter next to sink to accommodate it, especially the drain hose which is just long enough. I had read other reviews that stated they couldn't get the suction cup on the drain hose to work with their sink. We didn't have that issue and the dishwasher has drained well each of the 3 times we've already used it since receiving it. The directions are very poor, but the unit is pretty straight forward and was easy to set up and to use. I've used it 3 times on the 29 minute cycle only. At the end of each cycle, I took the dishes out of the dishwasher and placed them in the rack to dry. The dishwasher uses about 5 pitchers full of water. I had no issues pouring the water into the water compartment and once the unit is turned on, it does beep when the water compartment is full. The directions don't say this, but it appears to me that the dishwasher cycles 3 times. It drained once about 1/3 through the 29 minute cycle and the water was soapy and close to the temperature at which I used when I poured the water in before starting the cycle. The second drain happened 2/3 of time into the cycle and the water was cleaner and warmer. On the third and final drain, the water was quite hot and clear. The dishwasher does get the dishes very clean and I'm quite happy in that regard. What I'm not happy about is the choice of photo shopped pictures that lead one to believe that this unit is larger than it is. I include one of the sellers own "photos" showing placement of cups, bowls, plates and silver ware that are no where close to being a true representation of what this dishwasher is capable of. I have included my own unaltered pictures that show a true representation of what will fit in this ting. It's ok, but nearly as big as one is lead to believe. The silverware basket is a joke. I had to take the basket top off completely because literally none of my silverware would fit into the tiny holes set up for a single piece of silverware. Taking the top off did allow me to get some silverware in there and it seemed to work ok. The cup rack on top can be pushed up out of the way if not needed. I don't have a single cup that fits that rack. It's so small you might be able to get a couple tiny espresso cups to fit, but a single regular 10 ounce cup, let alone my 14 ounce cups. It works pretty good for holding larger utensils and small baby bottles. Everything came out very clean . Oh, it will only accommodate plates up to 10.5 inches. And those have to be angled slightly before the rack can be pushed in. This unit is very limited as to how many pieces if kitchen ware its going to clean in one cycle. But it's a good stopgap for us until we can get a new full size dishwasher. It's way better than hand washing and I feel the final cycle gets hot enough that the dishes are full rinsed and cleaned. For the price, it's worth it. Edit: I changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars. I've had this dishwasher a full month now and I love it. All the dishes come out so clean and I've learned how to arrange dishes to maximize wash load. It's so easy to use. In a normal day, I wash 2 loads of dishes. For me, that's doable and with how well this little machine cleans, it's worth to me.

I bought this product on September 5, 2025 and here it is 8/21/26 and it is still going strong! This little dishwashing unit is awesome. My husband and I live in a small space. It's just the two of us and I can get two meals of dishes (breakfast and lunch or dinner) in one of four settings, normal 69min, eco 59 min., quick 29 min or strong 89 min. It cleans everything really clean, caserole dishes - (no long handles tho), glasses, silverware, it's amazing. It even has a setting to wash fruits and veggies, keeping us safe from produce born diseases. Uses a small amount of water which you can add with a convenient pitcher supplied or hook it up to your faucet (that would require and fitting you can pick up at any hardware store. I have to say this is one of the best buys I have made in small appliances.

This might be the single Amazon purchase that has made the biggest positive impact on my life, without exaggeration. Dishwashers are very rare to find in apartments in my city so I've been handwashing dishes for as long as I've lived alone, and I HATE it. Genuinely the bane of my existence. Handwashing takes time and motivation that I don't have, resulting in dirty dishes in the sink 24/7 which is stressful and embarrassing. I have long found myself eating out more than I should and avoiding cooking to avoid generating more dishes. Until I saw someone mention that countertop dishwashers exist! And there are models with built in tanks so you don't have to modify plumbing (I'm a renter)! Decided on the spot that a few hundred dollars one time was worth never having to hand wash dishes again and now having used this for about a month, I can say it was THE RIGHT DECISION! My kitchen is cleaner, I am more motivated to cook and I can enjoy home cooking more, my stress has been reduced so I can enjoy other things more. And on top of it all, it saves water! It uses only 5 liters (less than a gallon and a half) of water per cycle which is less than it would take to hand wash the same amount of dishes. I have so far tried the regular, strong, eco, and quick cycles, and I personally find that the quick cycle is absolutely good enough for general purpose use. No need to pre-rinse the dishes, just remove any large food debris first and use powder dish detergent. I run it about once every two days as a single person using two meals' worth of dishes + cups a day. Pictured: Set of dishes fresh and clean out of the quick cycle.

Bought this a couple months ago and it has been run every day (sometimes twice). This little machine has really impressed me. Here are my observations: Gets the dishes clean. I've only ever had to re wash an item once and, to be fair, it was encrusted with baked on cheese and probably wouldn't have come completely clean in a full sized machine either. I use store brand dishwasher packs, no need for the expensive brand. I used the vegetable setting once (no soap) to wash a bunch of russet potatoes and they were the cleanest potatoes I've ever seen when it was done. It's bigger on the outside. Duh. But it surprised me how much of a difference it was. All the same, I am still able to fit a surprising amount of dishes in it. I really pack them in too but they still come clean. I still have to wash my pots and pans by hand, they're too big to fit, but I really don't mind having to wash a couple things and my sink is clear of dishes! Speaking of size, my kitchen is small with limited counter space. Even if it would fit under my cabinets (which it won't), I didn't want to give up precious food prep space so I purchased a small cart on casters. I just wheel the dishwasher over to the sink when I'm ready to run it. I feel like it would not fit under most cabinets in the kitchens I've seen. Measure carefully! I love that it has the option to fill it with water or to hook it up to the faucet. I always use the reservoir because my faucet has an odd shape that wouldn't work with the direct hookup. It's a bit of a hassle to fill, takes three of the pitcher that it comes with to run. All the same, glad to have the option since it wouldn't work for me otherwise. It fills at the top and comes with a tray/funnel which helps keep the water from running all over. It's not overly loud, neither is it silent. The noise doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as washing endless dishes day after day after day did. Or worse, not washing them and having a depressing mess to look at until I finally just do it knowing I'll have to do it all over again soon. The loudest part of the cycle is when it drains. It drains out of a hose attached at the back of the machine. I just put the end of hose in the sink and the dirty dish water goes down the drain. I'm very careful to empty that hose when it's done but I still always manage to drip some water on the floor somehow. I've had no real issues so far except that occasionally the top sprayer arm does not want to spin. It's like it trys to but there's not enough water pressure or something? So it spins for a bit, stops, spins some more. I don't know, it's not obstructed and it spins freely when I give it a twirl manually. The dishes still come clean so I'm not overly concerned. The window on the door at the front allows me to view my dishes being cleaned for me; which is a small, but real, delight. I love watching the sudsy water spraying all over my bowls, cups, plates and utensils. The chiming song it plays when it needs water or is all done always makes me smile. And, did I mention, my sink is clear of dirty dishes! Hands down the best present I've ever bought myself. It's not perfect, but I really love it.

2 days into owning this dishwasher, which incidentally arrived a full day early (!) and I am in love. I have not had a dishwasher for 3 years and I am so happy with this purchase. It took me a long time to pull the trigger, and I read review after review on every single dishwasher available before deciding on this one. I got the black glass door one. One thing that I noted was that the hermitlux dishwashers had far less negative reviews than other brands in the category I was looking (I needed a tank, couldn't hook up to faucet). Thank you to all the prior reviewers of this and other countertop dishwashers, you really help me make my decision! Since I have had this dishwasher, I've run eight loads and it has been seamless. I purchased a $60 stainless steel rolling cart for it because I don't have enough cabinet clearance, and I really didn't want to give up my very small amount of counter space anyway. This gives me the added bonus of rolling the cart directly into my hallway to run my dishes instead of trying to navigate my very few kitchen electrical outlets. I have two window air conditioners running at all times and I do occasionally have breaker issues in my apartment so this doing dishes in the hallway thing is working out very well. I have a collapsible bucket on the bottom shelf of the cart to collect dishwater, so easy! Onto the dishwashing, I've had a couple of things which were already stained not get as unstained as I would like but they were already stained so this was not a surprise. Everything else is coming out spotless! And so shiny. Clearly, hand washing was not going as well for me as I thought! I am using Cascade gel because I really just did not want to deal with any more research this week. This may change later on down the road but I wanted to get my dishes washing. In my estimation, this dishwasher can hold about a third of a standard dishwasher load but it's been awhile since I've had a standard dishwasher so I could be a little off on my math. The silverware situation annoyed me right out the gate so I popped the little lid off of the silverware container and haven't used it at all, which has caused no issue. I see people less happy about that little flip down rack not holding anything but I put all of my cooking utensils up there, and I also put my yeti-style lids up there. I love that rack! I'll probably learn more how to fit more dishes in there as time goes on but I'm highly impressed with how clean my plastic ware is getting, and it's really nice to be confident that my dishes are sanitized. So far I have used quick wash, standard wash, and strong wash on some of my grungier dishes and all cycles performed really well. If I allow it to run through the dry cycle which I really have been a little too impatient for, it does dry well. Plastics will likely still have water on top but that's that's it's something I dealt with on standard dishwashers. I'm single and still expect to be running this dishwasher daily because why not? It doesn't take very much water and it will be one less thing for my ADHD brain to deal with. Clean sink for the win! Speaking of my ADHD brain, this thing is also nearly silent. I can occasionally hear water slashing but that's about it. Even the notification beeps are very low volume. Since I am rolling the cart into the hallway to wash dishes, I pour three containers of water into the tank (I love the guide piece for it since I can't be trusted to pour water slowly), then I fill the container about halfway in case I didn't get enough in there and roll the whole thing down the hall. Twice I have not gotten enough water in there and the machine let me know so I was able to top it off with my container. I did purchase the extended warranty for 2 years because this was a big purchase for me, even though I do not normally buy extended protection. Tldr: This is a great machine!

Perfect for on my countertop. Water usage is small. You can hook it up to a faucet OR just pour hot water in the top, it comes with parts that are compatible. The money I spent on this was totally worth it. I haven't had a dishwasher in my house besides me in years. Durability and quality is amazing. Use it at least once a day and my dishes come out so clean. The rack rolls out. There is a small fold down shelf and it comes with a silverware holder. I can actually fit a lot in it.

Living in an apartment with poor water pressure led to the untimely demise of my main dishwasher's impeller, a situation my complex manager has unfortunately chosen not to address. Which led me to searching out for another solution that didn't involve me purchasing and installing another full size dishwasher and letting my rental agency line their pockets. This compact dishwasher has not only solved this issue but also brought a great deal of relief to my family, especially to my wife, who is on dialysis and thus appreciates the reduced physical strain of not having to wash dishes by hand. Here are my thoughts on it so far, after 3 week of use: Installation & Setup: Simple and straightforward, the setup was a breeze. This aspect was crucial for me, considering the need to find an immediate solution to my broken main dishwasher, and as I work 6 days a week as the sole income - didn't need or have the energy to get into yet another fight with yet another kitchen appliance. Design & Capacity: Despite its modest size, this little powerhouse holds a surprising amount of dishes. It's stylish too. It fits right beneath our cupboards on the counter. We do need to pull it out to fill it, but that's a mild inconvenienc.e Cleaning Performance: The dishes come out impeccably clean every time, which I was pleasantly surprised by, I was not so keen as to the machine's effective cleaning capabilities. I usually opt for the ‘Eco’ mode, which is both energy-efficient and thorough. For tougher stuff, I put it on "strong" and toss in an extra pod. I would recommend using pods against powder, despite the manufacture recommendation, as the powders seem to leave a residue. Haven't tried jet dry or anything yet, but maybe I will in the future if finances make me be a bit less bougie and I have to go back to powder. Noise Level: Its whisper-quiet operation is also impressive. Being almost silent, it doesn't add any noise stress, which is particularly beneficial in our living situation, as we have a rather finicky two year old. Heat & Drying: The internal heating mechanism not only cleans the dishes effectively (seen it get all the way up to 149 degrees inside; if you open the door during the cycle, it shows the temp inside on the screen, which is a nice safety feature) but also dries them quickly due to the residual heat, bypassing the need for an additional drying cycle, which I thought was pretty neat. It does have some kind of drying cycle, but you don't need to wait for it. The instructions say something about circulating air through it for 72 hours, but as of yet I haven't noticed any kind of whirring, maybe that's select models? Water & Energy Efficiency: Considering the water pressure issues in my apartment, I was again pleasantly surprised at how little water this unit consumes – about 1.2 gallons per cycle – without compromising on performance. I've noticed virtually no change to my water bill, despite running it daily. Ease of Use: The user-friendly interface, with its clear LED display, makes operating this dishwasher effortless. This feature has been particularly helpful for my wife, allowing her to manage the dishwashing process without any issues whastoever. Maintenance: Easy-to-clean filters are super easy to snap out, wash and put right back in with minimal trouble. Areas for Improvement: While the dishwasher is nearly perfect for our needs, fitting larger plates can be a bit challenging. Nonetheless, this is a minor inconvenience compared to the overall benefits it provides. I wish it came with a faucet adapter. Conclusion: The Hermitluxe Countertop Dishwasher has been a game-changer in our household. It has effectively addressed the unique challenges we face in our apartment, making life easier for my wife and me. It's been a significant improvement to our daily lives. I highly recommend it to anyone facing similar challenges or simply looking for a reliable, compact dishwashing solution.

Honey let me tell you something. This is my favorite appliance in my house. I live in a two person household. As a young woman I have really been working towards making household chores as effecient as possible so I don’t have to be stuck doing them all day. I really hate the stereotype that women are meant to work around a house all day so im really curating my home ☺️ anyways, this baby is ready to use out of the box, please measure your space beforehand of course. The setup is straightforward: 1. Unbox 2. Connect drain house and run in to sink 3. Connect line to sink for washing/fill yourself. We have a different style sink that isn’t compatible with the hose but it is close enough that I can run it right in to the top by hand. So be mindful of that as well. The biggest thing for me was, “is this going to really clean my dishes and fit enough to be worth the money?” Well yes it will, you will indeed have to play dishes Tetris BUT if you wash daily you will be set. The water heats itself once it starts going. It cleans very well, if you have rinsed dishes beforehand you can always run a quick cycle. There is no leakage. The machine beeps when the water level is adequate. It also dries the dishes effectively when selected. The washer has a storage mode it enters when it’s idle to keep it from getting stale. The self clean mode is awesome too. I love it so much, I have half an hour more free time to myself a day now.

Compré este lavavajillas hace más de un año (13 meses concretamente) y no puedo estar más contento. Vivo en un piso pequeño donde no me cabría cómodamente un lavavajillas, ni siquiera uno de los de ancho de 45 cm, así que, cuando quise uno y supe de estos, me puse a buscar. Aquí mismo hay varios de diferentes marcas y que parecen ser iguales (por dentro muchos seguro que lo serán), pero me decidí por este porque tenía de media mejores opiniones, y no me arrepiento de mi decisión. Están también lo de puerta de cristal, que son como más "curiosos", al dejarte ver el proceso de fregado, pero ¿quién necesita ver el proceso? Lo que importa es el resultado y, además, esa tontería de puerta de cristal hace que sean más caros. La capacidad de carga, para alguien como yo, que vivo solo, es más que suficiente. Gracias a eso, lo pongo cada 2 o incluso 3 días. Da para unos 6 platos grandes y "jugando al Tetris", como otros usuarios dicen, uno o dos más, de los pequeños, ya te caben. Aparte de eso, da para unos cuantos cubiertos, gracias a la cesta incluida, y algunos vasos y tazas. Según como lo organice, me puede dar para una sartén pequeña (de 20 cm), pero en ese caso ya se limita la capacidad total. Ollas y sartenes grandes las lavo fuera, que al menos me quita el gasto de agua de lavar platos y tazas, que ya es mayor de lo que la gente cree. Para el caso del producto de limpieza a escoger, es más recomendable usar líquido o en polvo, ya que las pastillas habituales son para lavavajillas más grandes, y el líquido o polvo lo puedes controlar y meter lo justo. Tiene varios programas, de 30, 60 y 90 minutos. Yo uso el de 30 o el de 60, en función de cantidad de cosas a lavar y su suciedad. En el caso del de 30, si metes cosas muy sucias sí es posible que algo se te quede sin lavar al 100%, pero con el de 60 sale todo impecable. Una maravilla lo mucho que ahora me duran los tuppers sin esas manchas de tomate que nunca se van. Se puede conectar a la toma de agua de la cocina o (como yo) llenar el depósito incorporado. Llenarlo no lleva tanto tiempo y es una gozada, al saber que todo el ciclo de lavado no va a gastar más de los 5 litros que lleva. Una vez encendido, vas llenando con la jarra incorporada y empieza a pitar cuando ya has llegado a los 5 litros. Una vez empieza el lavado, lo primero que hace es expulsar todo lo que hayas echado por encima de esos 5 litros y luego empieza el ciclo de lavado. Tras el lavado, comienza un ciclo de secado de 60 minutos, pero yo nunca lo hago, ya que lo desenchufo, abro la puerta y espero que se seque al aire, que gasta menos luz. Ese secado lo que hace es sacar el vapor acumulado con un ventilador. Lo usé una vez para probarlo y sí es cierto que tras esa hora sale todo super seco, pero no lo veo imprescindible. El filtro que trae, que es como los normales, solo que más pequeño, se limpia como en un lavavajillas grande, con desenroscar y darle un poco con agua del grifo. Para limpiar el lavavajillas en sí, yo he usado sin problema esas botellas que venden en el supermercado, con las que queda impecable. Un gran producto que recomiendo a quien tenga poco espacio, como es mi caso, o a quien quiera he fregar menos un una escapada al campo y pueda, por ejemplo, enchufarlo en una autocaravana, gracias a su portabilidad. Como funciona adicional, incluye un programa de llenado de fruta y verdura, para lo cual también trae una cesta. En este caso, solo usa agua y no es necesario meter ningún detergente. Muy útil en esas escapadas al campo y para preparar ensaladas. En ese caso el programa es de 20 minutos.

Ça fait maintenant 4 mois que je l’utilise presque quotidiennement. Il fait très bien son travail. Je déteste faire la vaisselle et honnêtement ça m’enlève un poids. J’y mets de tout : assiettes, couverts, verres, tasses, bols mais aussi les casseroles (adaptées aux lave vaisselles) et les plats à four (lave très bien après un gratin sur le mode “strong”). Je peux même y faire entrer mes assiettes de 27cm. Des petites précautions à prendre : - j’ai pris en compte les autres avis et j’utilise de la poudre et non des tablettes - je rempli manuellement l’eau donc je ne sais pas si c’est lié à ça mais en respectant les dosages indiqués (12g en strong et 8g pour standard et eco) il me restait toujours des résidus sur les verres donc j’ai réduis les dosages : 8g en strong et 4g en standard/eco ce qui suffit amplement - aussi j’utilise le produit Sun (en photo) car il est sensé être 3 en 1 du au fait qu’on ne puisse pas mettre de liquide de rinçage mais j’ai quand même des traces de calcaire présentes (sur les verres, casseroles et assiettes noires). Pour 1-2 personnes ça suffit amplement. Je vis dans un studio et il n’est pas très bruyant (je peux largement regarder la télé en même temps sans avoir à augmenter le son). Je conseille quand même de le placer sur un plan de travail accolé à votre évier pour que l’eau s’évacue directement dedans si vous ne le branchez pas à une arrivée d’eau sauf si vider un seau d’eau sale à chaque utilisation ne vous pose pas de problème. Conclusion : c’est un investissement que j’aurais du faire bien plus tôt.

Received well packed and nicely taped and secured inside. Installation was easy, and I use manual water top up - 3 jugs and works well. Bought standard waste pipe for washing machine (Wickes, £5.99), to extend the dishwasher one as it was a bit short to reach my sink. To be clear original one is quite long but place where I could put dishwasher was a bit too far from my sink. Anyway easy to extend as I just plugged very tightly in extending waste pipe. It can fit quite a lot in one washing. My plates are 10" and they fit perfectly - there is still some space above as dishwasher is fairly high. I do roughly one washing a day, and use Quick cycle - 29 minutes. It really clean dishes and cutlery very well. There is an automatic 60 min drying cycle which kicks in after completed washing. It goes very quiet at this stage. I could stop drying an do it manually to save energy. It works OK both ways. It is easy to maintain and I do 2 min inside cleaning after washing, especially heating plate below the filter that collects limestone from hard water which is characteristic of my geographical area. For me it is not noisy as some people claim. Could not see much difference in noise level between this one and a normal dishwasher. Yes, as it is smaller it should be maybe quieter than big one, but it stands on the worktop and is not sound proof as the built in one. Anyway I am not standing next to my new dishwasher to measure sound output, I would rather move to the living room and listen to music while washing in progress. The instruction manual is a bit spartan but sufficiently clear and informative to get you started. And one more thing - no more dirty dishes in my sink, just fill them into dishwasher and close the door. Voila, my kitchen tidy again. As for longevity will see how it goes, but so far so good. Great little workhorse, would highly recommend.

Positive things: - easy to use, very clear instructions - doesn`t take up very much space - the draining hose can have part of it upward before going into the sink which is very helpful in my case Negative things: - the spot to put the dishwasher soap is completely loose, so it was a bit weird that you even need to put it there

Nette kleine Maschine, leider für den von mir gedachten Einsatz vollkommen unbrauchbar. Funktioniert... jedoch ohne Salz und klarspüli macht Gläser nicht sauber ... man kann zwar alles zum Geschirr dazu geben oder sich die 3er Tabs holen.... doch nach einer Stunde Geschirr spühlen noch 60 min automatisch trocknen !!! Das ist in d nicht effektiv, vielleicht wird es in anderen Ländern wo die Maschine her kommt ja gebraucht? Mein Tipp.... nehmt eine mit Salz Einsatz und für zuhause mit Wasser Anschluss eine etwas größere, dann geht auch mal ein Pfannenwender, Topf oder ein großes Messer rein. Ich hoffe ich konnte Euch damit behilflich sein. LG
