Excellent Kitchen Gadget
This is a very efficient egg boiler. Following the user instructions, which are straight forward, gets you perfectly boiled eggs every time. You just use the egg piercer to put a small hole in the bottom of the egg to prevent it cracking then use the graduated cup to put the required water in the tray then place your eggs in the holder and put the lid on,switch it on and that's it. It automatically switches off when the eggs are cooked. It is compact and easy to clean. It holds up to 6 eggs.

Brilliant product—fluffy omelettes and so easy to clean!
I purchased the Salter EK4213S XL Omelette Maker in early June and have already used it multiple times. It is incredibly impressive and a massive improvement over my previous, cheaper model. It’s been a huge help with my weight loss and healthy eating routine! Pros: True Non-Stick: You genuinely do not need any oil or butter to cook your eggs. Omelettes lift right out. Perfect Texture: On average, I cook my omelettes for about 5 to 6 minutes. They deflate slightly when you take them out, but they stay incredibly light and fluffy to eat. Effortless Cleaning: When you're done, you just take a slightly damp, clean cloth and wipe it down. It cleans up instantly. A quick tip on capacity: If you are adding fillings, I recommend using a maximum of 4 eggs total (2 for each side) so it doesn't overflow. If you are making them plain without fillings, you can easily go up to nearly 5 or 6 eggs in total. I’m no chef, but I’ve been sautéing spinach, mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes in a dash of olive oil, whisking them into eggs with a splash of milk, salt, pepper, and paprika, and spooning it in (see pictures). The results are wonderful. Highly recommended!

Handy Little Egg Cooker (Needs a Quick Clean-Up)
I picked up the Salter 6-egg electric cooker on 29 May and have been using it for a couple of weeks. It’s made breakfast a breeze: Easy & fast. Six eggs are done in about 10 minutes, and the buzzer turns it off so I don’t have to watch the hob. Good results. Soft, medium, or hard. So far, every batch has turned out just how I wanted. Solid build. The plastic lid and base feel tougher than I expected for the price, and it’s small enough to leave on the counter. Cons! The metal hot-plate gets a cloudy white film after each use. It’s only limescale, but it needs a quick wipe with vinegar to look clean again. A longer power lead would be nice too. Overall, if you want fuss-free boiled eggs, this gadget delivers. Just be ready for a little extra cleaning, and it earns a solid 4 stars from me.

Makes the best poached eggs.
This is the 5th Salter egg cooker I have bought, because I have converted so many friends and family after buying one myself. I genuinely thought this was just a useless gadget, until I stayed over at a friend’s house, and they told me to help myself to breakfast and if I wanted to use the egg poacher/boiler. I couldn’t really understand the point of it, because you can just stick eggs in a pan (although I had never been able to get poached eggs right, and they were my absolute favourite). So I decided to do a couple of boiled eggs using their Salter gadget, and I was blown away. I followed the instructions to have soft boiled eggs, so I could have egg and soldiers, and they came out absolutely perfect. I went home and I purchased myself one, and tested out the poached egg function; I ended up doing poached eggs every morning for an entire week. All of the instructions are really easy to follow in the booklet, and once you get the hang of it, you won’t need to keep checking. It comes with a little measurement cup, with a small pin on the bottom to pierce boiled eggs, therefore, you can peel them so much easier. No more shells in your boiled eggs! No more crunching on gross shells, and being put off of your lunch. It’s fabulous. I was very sceptical on how the poached eggs would turn out, because you get two small plastic cups to put the eggs in, and then you cook them on the appliance, with the water poured into the bottom. However, were absolutely perfect. There’s nothing worse than taking out a poached egg from the saucepan, and having a load of water flop onto your toast from the residue. You also don’t have to faff about with vinegar, in a pan, to get the poached egg right, you literally just coat the small pots with a bit of spray oil (or fry light) and crack the eggs into them. Done. The bonus is, no disgusting stringy white bits hanging onto the bottom of the eggs, like when you poach them in a saucepan. They are literally solid delicious egg whites with a lovely, creamy middle. The only time I used to bother with poached eggs, is when I used to go out for breakfast to a restaurant or a café, but now I can enjoy them whenever I want, thanks to this gadget. I love cooking, but I used to hate making boiled eggs in a pan, because I had to sacrifice a pan to be the designated egg pan, as no matter how much I washed the pan - Id put it in the dishwasher and it would always be covered in a white film, like a salt-residue from the egg that I boiled. Those days are over. This gadget eradicates any need for sacrificing pain or worrying about how to do a proper poached egg for yourself or guests. And it’s really easy to clean. I have bought so many as gifts for friends and family. At first, no one is convinced, until they have it themselves for a week. It really does take the fuss out of making breakfast.

Good quality, compact, works well
Bought to replace the comparable 'VonShef' branded one we previously owned that stopped working one day after about 2 years. I went for this brand as I've had several kitchen products from Salter and they've always been good quality. I paid £13.99 (full price) for mine which was cheaper than the one it was replacing and feels like a good price for a quality item like this. The first thing I'll say is my relief at having PRINTED measurements on the cup! The previous one just had raised markings, making it so hard to see the water level (see comparison pic). This one is far more sensible and, even if the ink wears off in the future, it's still a far better system than the previous. It's developed the brown staining pictured after 2 uses, although I feel like that's to be expected (my other one did exactly the same). I've found using an abrasive cleaner like The Pink Stuff gets rid of it without too much hassle. There was still a trace of water left in the tray (my old one would boil off all the water), which boiled away quickly once I'd taken the lid off. I'm guessing this is designed to limit the build-up of staining over time. The boil function worked great and cooked quicker than I remember my old one doing. We've tried 'soft' and 'hard' eggs (medium size Tesco eggs, if that makes a difference) and both are what you'd expect ('soft' gave a liquid yolk, set white; 'hard' cooked the egg through). Our old one was more of a guessing game, and I found myself having to add more or less water than the designated mark to achieve the result I was expecting. When the eggs were done, the light made an audible 'click' as it switched off, which was enough to alert me as I was in the room at the time. I'm not overly impressed with the poaching function. I 'preheated' the machine in order to melt the butter I had put in the cups, but even with the cups coated in butter, the egg still stuck to them a fair bit. I also had to run the machine through 3 cycles (I used the "medium 1-3 eggs" marking) before they were cooked through. That said, I bought it to boil eggs, the poach function was an added bonus, but one I won't use again as it was too much of a faff. The egg pricker is sharp enough to get through the shells with ease (I know I keep comparing it, but this pin is MUCH easier to use than my old one!); there's no twisting the egg back and forth trying to break through, and it's not sticking out risking pricking your finger. I like that the little handle for the egg tray is removable, it's a nice little design, and it's sturdy when locked in place. Everything fits inside the lid (if arranged as pictured, if your poaching cups are the other way up then it's a squeeze) and all-in-all it's a compact, good quality little cooker.

Good at boiling eggs but not much else, suspect I got somebody's return item too
It's good are what you're probably buying it for i.e. boiling eggs. The poacher and the omelette tray are essentially the same thing - one big plastic tray. When you try and make an omelette, as you essentially just sit the plastic tray on the water it actually melts the bottom of the plastic, so seems like a really bad design although the instructions keep talking about poaching trays plural rather than singular so I'm wondering if I've been sent somebody's return item packaged as new, but missing some parts. Who knows. Ultimately it boils eggs which is what I bought it for but disappointed with the other aspects. I've attached picture of the attempt to make an omelette (2 eggs, but of tuna, cooked for 9 minutes)

So fantastic, 100% the best
This is now one of our most important kitchen gadgets. Like you, we have gadgets bought and hardly, if ever used. Not this one. It sits in pride of place on the countertop and is used several times a week. Simple, perfect boiled eggs, whatever your preference of super soft, to rock hard, every time. We wouldn't be without one now. The big bonus, it is inexpensive to purchase and saves energy as well.

Omelette maker
I find this omelette maker reasonably good . The only disappointment is that it came with an English electrical plug. Had to get an adapter to get it to work in Australia. apart from that, it seems to work okay.
