Greenworks 40V 13 in Cordless String Trimmer, 20 Blades, 2.0 Ah Battery

This spins at 9000 RPM and it's very powerful. It eats up the grass harder than a gas powered wacker. Whether you use the metal string or the plastic blades it simply works. There are some reviews out there of some complaining about this product but I would ignore those reviews. The plastic blades are not to be used against concrete or metal surfaces or they will wear out but it will cut thru the grass like knife thru butter. The metal string it's just that it will tear thru anything just about. changing the plastic blades is so easy and switching between the metal wire spool and the plastic blades attachment is also very easy. Switching between the wacker mode or the hedging mode is very easy due to the easy and practical design. It's light weight compare to gas powerred ones and also wacking with the guard protector this unit brings doesn't throw rocks or foreign things at you very well designed. Buy it and love it.

While it has everything finally right for a women to use that is short and lighter (sort of), because it is adjustable and the combination edger, great idea, it has a really big problem, sadly the cap that holds on the blades for trimming keeps flying off. I did a small fraction of the lawn and on the very first day I used it the blades fell off seven times, I had to give up and go in. When it stayed together it really worked great. I will try the wire tomorrow. The cheap plastic part with no screws will never stay on against my weeds. Get real!

The weed eater/edger works great.I like the adjustable handle for different height users.Our yard is smaller the battery life is fine.

This trimmer is short so I have to bend over with my arms extended to use it. This strains my back and I am not tall. It has one string instead of two strings and that is not enough for the thick clump grasses on my property. If you already have a lawnmower and will use this trimmer only for small clean-up, then it should work fine. If you are doing a full yard, don't get this one. I have a larger area that cannot be mowed due to rocks and small shrubs; this trimmer isn't made for that. I have owned six Greenworks products and I will continue with the brand, just not this one. It came with some plastic blades to use instead of string. The head for this broke the second time I used it. Maybe its not intended for use around rocky areas.

Worst string trimmer I ever bought, no support, no fix, no options . The trimmer is powerful but there are no options for stronger string the string just brakes and won’t feed from the spool not even on a new spool. Asked for return no options, no support!!!! We bought a cheep worx trimmer works great, save money do buy green Works 40 V 13 inch.

My old weed eater died, so I was in the market for a new one. I have a Greenworks mower and a leaf blower, and I really like them. I figured buying a Greenworks weed eater would be a good investment, especially considering all three tools would use the same batteries. Unfortunately, I'm overall disappointed. Pros The price was great with the battery and charger included. The Greenworks brand batteries are not cheap, so buying a package deal like this is like getting the weed eater for a fraction of the price if bought alone. It's powerful and has great battery life. Cons Just about everything else. The string trimmer head is trash. The line does not advance on its own very well, even after following the instructions on how to set up the auto feed. As a matter of fact, the line gets sucked back in often, resulting in me having to remove the cap and rethread the line. The blade head is better, but if met with any resistance (sidewalk, rocks), the head flies off. If I'm careful and avoid hitting anything, the blades do a decent job. The blades, however, do not last long, which is fine...if Greenworks or Amazon sold replacement blades, which they don't. Nowhere can I find replacement blades like the ones that came with the tool. Finally, using the tool as an edger is impossible. When using the string head, the line gets sucked back in almost immediately. When using the blade head, the head flies off. I've had this weed eater for a couple months now, and I've learned how to use it to get the most out of it. But, man, do I miss my old Worx weed eater. I like the convenience of having the same battery and charger for three tools, and the weed eater has nice power and battery life. However, its performance is very disappointing.
