I use these kind of clamps all the time in my shop. I have four of these long ones, and many multiples of the shorter variety, probably about 40 in all. They're great for holding work down om my table, temporarily holding things together as I work them, and testing joints quickly. I can't recommend these enough. I especially love the ability to turn one end around and use them as spreaders in addition to clamping.

This clamp is terrific. I used it to build a shed and it worked like a second pair of hands, drawing the floor boards together, as well as the double top plates.

I only use them a few times a week, but when a large clamp is needed, these are a home run. Recommended for those b larger requirements.

Picked up two of these clamps on Amazon, which offers the best price. The clamps arrived in a flimsy cardboard envelop, but thanks to the sturdy build quality, nothing was damaged. I have used it so far to clamp several wide boards to form both edge joint and face joint to form a thick table top. The deep full face pads proved to be very ideal for jointing. The pressure is extremely strong and very uniform. The jaws reaches deep, and really helps if you face joint wide boards. The quick racheting handle is comfortable to grab, and closes quickly and conveniently. And best of all, unlike the earlier versions, this clamp has a very thick and heavy steel I-beam. For the boards I jointed, 4 ft wide, there is no noticeable bow in the beam when fully clamped. And when clamped for overnight, I didn't notice any relaxation in the jaws. I also picked up 8 of the 24" versions. Together they provide everything I need to do edge and face jointing. So no more fumbling with c-clamps and cushioning pads. Just line up the boards and squeeze the handle. The pressure is just as strong. It is pricy, but well worth the money.

I recently cheated on my long-time friend- Irwin. I bought some Bessey bar clamps because I have some older Besseys that I love. I hate having to use pipe or strap clamps for 48" pieces of work and was hoping to find a bar clamp with the strength I needed. I have some older 36" Irwin's that are a bit disappointing (thus the recent shift to Bessey). This particular Irwin clamp, the 2021459N Next Generation (???) 50 incher, is a beast! I put it to immediate use and it has surprising stability and holding power. Cheating doesn't pay! Bessey's similar products literally feel like toys compared to this thing. I've only used this clamp for a couple of weeks, but have very little doubt that it will hold up to my continual stretching of its engineered boundaries. It is expensive, but so far, well worth it. Should have bought two but wanted to test drive one first. 4 stars instead of 5 because the jaws could stand to be heavier- match the beam strength. PROS: - Solid build quality - Lots of metal parts - Comfortable in hand - Easy to squeeze and release - Switch to spreading is a snap CONS: - Jaws are tall and if you put them in a twisting situation, they will deflect quite a bit - Cost

I store them clamped to an overhead garage truss so it is out of the way. Definitely stronger grip than the smaller sizes, so much I need to ensure I don’t over tighten them. So simple to use my young son knows them well.

I purchased this clamp for just one purpose but have used it a couple of more times since. It's first job was to clamp a cracked wooden door that was 48" wide. I couldn't find a clamp that large at the local Lowes or Home Depot. The clamp is well made, very strong and all around good quality. The hand grip allows for a very tight grip and the pressure appears to be equal across the scratch-free rubber faces. I also have a few of the smaller versions and am equally satisfied in using them. Highly recommended.

Look no further than the best and longest Irwin has to offer. Make clamping anything a simple task with guaranteed results and the strongest force available on the market. Out of the very long box, it's the finest crated tool in this market I've ever seen.
