My MacBook Pro 13” Mid 2012 model had turned dead slow that sometimes I felt like smashing it. Read about the similar issues being faced by almost all users of this Mac life. Based on thread recommendations I would ordered this 16 GB RAM and now the speed has increased many folds. The Mac has turned back to the way it was in 2012- Lightening fast. This is a slightly long review, but only because I have really struggled without this RAM.The problem:I have a MacBook Pro (mid-2012) and had upgraded to Catalina. Needless to say, that turned my Macbook into a typewriter. Online, I found solutions like clear History, delete Temp files, etc., but nothing really helped. Then I found an article that suggested downgrading to Mojhave (it is a 3-4 hour process if you create a backup and you can find tutorial videos online). Post the downgrade, I saw a small improvement in response times, but there was still some lag in multitasking. That's when I decided to take the plunge and upgrade my RAM.The key solution:These RAMs (2x8GB = 16GB) are expensive, but really worth it. You will find cheaper Windows' RAMs online, but they may/ may not work and you may end up spending more, if it crashes any other circuit/ part - avoid this as the risk is too high.Installing the RAM:You will need a Pentalobe-head screwdriver of size 1.5mm (cost me Rs.175 for a locally made set from a hardware shop). You can watch any of the Macbook Pro RAM installation videos online and the whole process takes about 5-7 minutes from start to end.Note: The 3 screws near the fan are of a different length compared to the screws on the side. Remember to keep these separate to avoid confusion later.Feedback:It has been a day since I installed the RAMs and everything has been magic so far. The responsiveness is comparable to that of a brand new system and I am very happy with this investment as it has prolonged my Macbook's life by another 3-4 years.

Excellent RAM for my Mid 2012 Macbook Pro 13 inch modelI upgraded from company fitted 8 GB Kit and inserted 16 GB kit (8+8= Twin modules )Did this myself with my sonThe RAM was instantly detected and system began to show 16 GB memoryMy macbook speed has at least 2-3 fold increased: though this is the costliest memory out of available options suppose this kit costed me around 12 k indian rupees whereas another product by Corsair itself named value select should have costed me around just ₹7000/- for a pair of 8 GB each (16 Total) : samsung kit of 16 gb would cost around ₹10 k and another reputed brand with proven success in macbook pro 2012 HYPERX IMPACT would cost me ₹9 k : i shared my personal hunt results in last one week where i had zeroed down on Samsung / Corsair & Hyperx impactBut label sure has lot of appeal and the moment Corsair names it MAC MEMORY this became my choiceOne of these i am planning to upgrade storage by replacing company fitted Hitachi HDD ( a true benchmark when this comes to HDD with spinning disc - We donot expect anything less from Apple as well but now after 8 years of domestic usage with lots of iphoto handling i feel even Hitachi deserves retirement i intend to do this with Amazon aquired Samsung 870 QVO - 1 Tb SSD I hope the performance considerably improves maybe i even retain my good old Hitachi hdd as well thus making my total storage 1.75 Tb - a very tempting idea actually if i can allocate ssd as my primary booting Drive and Hitachi HDD as secondary spare in optical drive bay

I have late 2012 macmini, as a backup machine and it took me less than 5 minutes to install ram. Works perfect macmini late 2012 with i5 supports this ram. That was my biggest fear while purchasing. If you also have macmini go for it!

Installed this on MacBook Pro Mid 2012 model, easy to install and Mac recognised the 16GB RAM without any issue.Earlier the Mac was running on 4GB RAM and was really slow but usable but few weeks ago installed the OS Update 10.12.6 which made the system unusable, it was taking about 8 minutes just for the system to boot and basically there was a drastic drop in performance, disabling iCloud Drive from settings did improve performance but still the system was too slow to be usable, so upgraded to 16GB RAM and now the performance is really smooth.If you are planning to upgrade Mac's memory then go for 16GB because compared to Windows, Mac requires lot more memory, earlier on startup up my Mac was using more than 3GB of the 4GB memory, now the same system without any new software installed is using more than 8GB at startup.

I was struggling with my old Macbook with very slow performance, after upgrading it to OS X Catalina. I was waiting from long time to order this, it was unavailable for a long time. Now i am happy, Macbook is really improved after upgrading to 16GB Ram. However will also change HDD to SSD. I got it for 6500 Rs which is a decent deal. Overall Happy

Easy upgrade from 8GB i however dont see that much increase in speed i would say its a 20 percent increase.installation is easy and crucial is an excellent brand..

I have a MacBook Pro Mid-2012 15inch, stock 8GB RAM. I was worried when it arrived because the package only says: "Compatible with: MacBook/MacBook Pro Mid-2010, Early-2011, Late-2011 and iMac Mid-2010, Mid-2011." Missing MacBook/MacBook Pro Mid-2012 as it says in product description online here. However it works fine, I installed the two chips and it started up no problem, and under "About This Mac: Memory" it now has "16GB Installed" My Mac now runs noticeable quicker loading and running multiple apps. I also installed a Samsung SSD a couple years ago. For a 7-year old notebook, this thing runs fast and like new. It was definitely worth the $2,000 investment 7 years ago. There is no way a PC laptop would still be running 7 years later as good as this.

I am really grateful for this item at such a great price too. Contemplating buying a new mac book pro because this one was rather slow at 4GB ram. But after watching some upgrade options, it seemed like a bargain to spend £57 on 16GB ram and see how much better my macbook could perform. Eventually I will upgrade to an SSD and maybe switch out the CD drive to house a second SSD. So for under £300 for potential parts, I can save £1200 buying a new laptop.Easy to install, no issues in booting. Just a note though, the first time you boot it will be slow and usage slow for about 10 minutes as it registers. But after that, its like having a brand new laptop.I've been thinking about doing away with laptops all together and investing in the new ipad pro as I prefer the features on that rather than the new mac book pro. But I always like to have a laptop for certain programs an ipad cant install. So whether you spend £57 on this, or an extra £75+ for an SSD or two, you can easily save your macbook and a whole lot of money.I'm so happy, and i can finally open the spotify app without it crashing ha ha.Also, when checking RAM capabilities, my model is in the title of this review and Apple officially says it can only take up to 8GB. but a lot of reviews I've read and corsair themselves have said it works fine (even though mid-2012 isn't listed on the back on their packaging). But as you know by now, it works fine with no issues.

Cuando me plantee el cambiar la memoria a mi viejo MacBook Pro de 15 pulgadas, dudaba un poco bastante sobre el funcionamiento de una nueva memoria, vi muchos productos y di con este. la verdad que hice buena elección. llevo trabajando con ella desde julio estamos en octubre casi y se comporta de forma impecable, no me ha dado errores o problemas y un error muy típico que se va a negro la pantalla tampoco. Es decir sin fallos, se nota muchísimo en la velocidad del ordenador. Compatibilidad 100% seguras y fiables. en mi caso es un macbook pro 15" late 2011 retina y me va de cine. Simplemente sustituyes las antiguas por las nuevas y te olvidas, un plug and play total. Personalmente también cambie el disco duro por un SSD y me río yo de los ordenadores nuevos. Con mi MAC de 9 años le doy sopa con ondas a la mayoría que existen en el mercado, así que si es tu mismo caso, ponte manos a la obra y veras la diferencia. le cargue un sistema operativo nuevo reinstale datos y muy satisfecho con el resultado. Por todo ello ahí van mis 5 estrellas.
