Makes my tap water bottle worthy
I wasn't sure what to expect from this unit because I'd never heard of the brand before. However, I've been very pleased with it's performance. Assembly was a breeze, and I had it mounted and purifying water within 10 minutes. Although every part of the unit is plastic, at first glance you would think it was a much more expensive brand. I haven't had any problems with leaking or bad tasting water. If I have one complaint it would be that there isn't an indicator on it to let you know when the filter needs to be changed. I tend to wing this even when I have an indicator so that wasn't a big deal for me. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to someone that wanted the clean, fresh taste of water instead of whatever chemicals they drop in our drinking water these days.

Low and easy to install for common kitchen faucet heads
We have used thus product for 25 years. This may be the 4th or 5th replacement. The product will wear out depending usage. Quick easy low cost way to improve the taste of tap water. If you have toxic levels of bacteria or heavy metals, you may a more sophisticated filtering system or reverse osmosis.

They do the job as intended.
I've been using these filters for my tap water in the kitchen for decades. I'm glad they still sell them.

Good filter in a crummy faucet attachment
The water tastes pretty good but the unit is poorly designed and it took weeks of consultation with the company and extra parts to get it working without massive leaks. It now works pretty well, only leaks a little, although every couple weeks it falls off completely and has to be re-attached. I bought replacement filters so I will keep using it this year but would probably not buy it again even though I like how the water tastes.

How water should taste
I don't remember what water used to taste like. When I was a kid, the town starting putting so much chemicals in the water that I would start having allergic reactions to it: hives and rashes! I couldn't drink it and my clothes couldn't be washed in it. After enough complaints the town dialed back in chemicals but I know water never tasted the same. When the water on the fridge broke I had to buy water in the bottle which just got too expensive so I got this filter for everyone. My mom said, "Wow! This tastes just like it used to when I was growing up." My grandma cried, gave me a big hug and said, "You just don't know what this means to me to have this. I was so sick of this nasty water and having to boil it all the time just to drink it." So, while I don't remember what good water used to taste like, I have to believe that what is coming out of this filter is good water. I personally hate water. I could only drink Deer Park water. I've stopped buying Deer Park and I drink from the filter now. It's the only water I don't hate now. It's not too hard to assemble and all you need to do so is in the box. It's relatively cheap to buy filters. I go to Lowes and get a 4 pack for $17 and it can last up to a whole year. Cheap! Cheap! It did start to leak once but I just jiggled it around and retightened. The leaking stopped.

Flimsy plastic adapter!
Instapure knows they have a problem with these cheap flimsy adapters. It lasted 4 months. They sell a kit with a metal replacement adapter. Unfortunately it costs $17 w/ shipping only from their website. Rip off! Will call customer service. I’ll see how that goes? Will let everyone know…. UPDATE- emailed customer service. Asked for a metal adapter replacement. They sent me 2 more plastic adapters. Free of charge. Will only buy one new filter at a time now. No confidence in these adapters. We’ll see how long these last. At least they did something.

filter replacement part number.R2 and temp warning ,What the filter removes
Don't allow water over 100 deg f to go through filter it will ruin it.I have had mine for many years but it's time for a new one as water comes out of filter outlet when off.Quality product. They should list what the filter can do on Amazon, what it filters and the replacement filter. Here is a copy and paste from Instapures web site. The Instapure F2 Essentials faucet filtration system uses the R2 replacement filter, which is included and reduces contaminants like lead, microbial cysts, VOCs, and chlorine taste and odor for up to 3 months or 200 gallons.

Pleasantly surprised that filter perfectly fits my existing faucet mounted filter (Water Pic). The excessive cost of the recommended replacement filter for the Water Pic, had me buying a new filter with more reasonably priced filters. So still using my Water Pic now that I know replacement filters are available. Instapure still in original box, and will be used when Water Pic wears out.

We have tried quite a few faucet-mount water filters (the popular brands) and they have all leaked within a short time of purchasing them. This one, we have never had an issue with. The filters are also a lot more cost friendly. Would happily purchase again if needed.

I'm very disappointed with this filter. There is one plastic nut that fits over the end of the fsucet to screw the entire filter assembly on. Unfortunately this piece wouldn't work with my slightly oval faucet and I could never install the filter. Otherwise the whole thing seemed quite well built, but I'm not sure how it would have held up.

Did not fit my kitchen faucet so gotta find a solution. Product looms excellent. Can not go wrong with the price as well. Too bad it does not filter all the fluoride in out drinking water. Good buy 10-10!
