Gift for a girl
These books help with encouraging reading while providing thought provoking content that helps young girls learn how to be decent girls. In a society that teaches kids to be degenerate, it’s nice to have something like this to keep your kids on the right path. Get your kids of tablets and phones and get books into their hands like these.

Very Exciting and Inspiring!!
We got this boxed set for our girls, ages 10, 8, and 6. Our two oldest have been reading them like crazy, and read through them all very quickly!! We have already read about most of the characters in these stories, in other missionary books, written by YWAM and other publishers. These books are more short, but very exciting and have some details that other books have not. Fills our children's hearts with encouragement and inspires them for their futures in serving the Lord! They have loved them! In reading some of them to the girls, I have found that they are a bit hard to follow at times, perhaps because they were written in Scotland.

Not necessarily historically accurate--at least in one case.
I will start out by saying that I personally have only read snippits of these books and have not read them in their entirety. Nor do I claim to know all the historical facts surrounding all of the people featured in these books. But I do feel like the following is important information for someone thinking about purchasing or reading these:My daughter (age 10) has been devouring these books (along with the boys' set) from her school library. The first one she read was a little "heavy" for her--it was about people who were martyred for their faith. That was a lot for her to swallow at her age. The rest have been about Christians who have made an impact. (Each book features several people and is broken into chapters about each.)Anyway, I had just finished reading The Hiding Place (by Corrie Ten Boom) so I was interested when I saw that Corrie Ten Boom was featured in one of these books that my daughter had home from the library. I was interested to read what this book would have to say about Corrie and her life. I was disappointed to find that some of the historical facts were not accurate. For example, this book has a scene where Corrie is speaking with her mother about how they can hide Jews in their home... but in real life, Corrie's mother had died long before the war and persecution of the Jews ever took place. Corrie also has a "conversation" in this book with her sister Nollie about hiding Jews in "their" home and it indicates that Nollie was living at home at the time of the Holocaust as well, when in fact, she was grown, married, had a family of her own, and was living elsewhere. Are these crucial details? Perhaps not. But I was disappointed that the author of a Christian book series felt the need to bend the truth (irony) in order to get the point across. I feel as if these stories could have been told in a way that conveyed the story in an age appropriate way while maintaining historical accuracy.I'm not saying these aren't great books with a great lesson to teach your kids... but just be aware.
