This wine opener has a nice feel in the hand and screws into the cork with ease. The double lever works very well and the patented spring just means that the first lever gets out of the way for the second part of the lever to engage. Fit and finish is good but not perfect. Some seems show but it is much nicer than other corkscrews I've seen at a similar price. Great gift for yourself or others. There is no indication where it was made.

The first time I used it, it really felt good in my hand. The spiral is extremely strong and simple to twist in the cork. It was clear of what the engineers were trying to accomplish when they made the two step lever that would rest on the top of the bottle. It is simple. It’s convenient and easy to use. I was thoroughly impressed by the design. This is my go to simple wine bottle opener.

I just received my Prestige Waiters Bottle Opener by Coutale Sommelier in the color rosewood and already by looking at it I can tell it’s a solid wine opener. It’s made from sturdy stainless steel, has a nice serrated blade, has a deep groove in the worm for easy grabbing of corks, has a beautiful rosewood accent, and the whole thing has a good amount of weight to it without being super bulky. The spring loaded double lever has just the right amount of give while not being too tight. I’m super happy with what I received for the money I paid. I work as a waitress in wine country so having a good wine opener is super important and I actually can’t wait to go to work tomorrow to use this!

Have you ever been jealous of the waiters at fine restaurants and their ability to open a bottle of wine with their small wine opener? I have. And I have tried some cheaper versions of this one with disappointing results.The Prestige wine opener is a well-crafted, hefty beautifully made product that is excellent at opening a bottle. I have really struggled with getting the foil off of the top of the bottle, but the built-in knife makes quick work of it. The corkscrew and the levers for pulling the cork are robust and relatively easy to use. The product is small and fits in your pocket. It does take a bit of practice for novices like me.I liked it so much I bought a second one for my girlfriend.

This will satisfy any tool lover, as well as any wine lover. I will only use a two-stage lever, but this one is better than all the rest because it uses a single hinge and a heavy spring-loaded catch for the first pull. Needed to replace an old opener and have always used the wing corkscrew type. Noticed waiters used this type so figured there needed to be a reason why. Works better, less space in the drawer, well made and looks good. If you are like me and need to upgrade I would highly recommend this one.

It's solid and well made. It works very well. I had the regular version before but this prestige version with the rosewood handle holds better and look nice. the spring loading is bit stuck but after few uses it should start to work properly. It fold very compact so it will be easy to bring to trip. However, the presitge version is heavier so if you want to carry it around, the regular version (less expensive) is better. I am not sure if they are really made in France (no stamping on the product itself) as the other chinese copies sold in amazon looks almost the same. some others say you can find better one's in german and french amazon sites, but I don't think they are any better, and some look exactly the same as this coutale (le creuset waiter's friend wood). this is not cheap but should last a lifetime. I will give 5star if I am able to find quality difference with copies selling for 1/3price….at the moment they look the same…maybe, someone can compare them in the future.

Looks sleek. Heavy. Hard to get used to the knife on the opposite side. Bit more juggling during service. Well made though. Screws won’t be getting loose like most heavily used waiter corkscrews.
