Unfortunately the drive died after 4 months. I was not even using it every day but occasionally. One day as I needed access to the data, my Windows 11 computer was not able to detect the drive. Then I tried it in another computer that run Linux and also was not able to read it. At least in Linux I could see that the computer detects that I have a USB device, but other than data it does not detect a filesystem. I even tried to read the drive using my Android but no luck. I contacted Vansuny but still no response. The drive was fast when it was working, but did not last long.

At first glance this Vansuny SSD flash drive appears solid and dense. The enclosure is fully metallic. The USB 3.2 end is capped while the Type C side has a flip cover. Being a dual port flash drive makes this pretty easy to use with both phone or PC. As a whole I feel that this drive is a bit bulky but over all impressed. Sadly the cap will likely disappear on me in the near future. The storage capacity is 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. I got the 256GB version. Vansuny claims that the transfer speed for this USB 3.2 drive is 1000MB read/write. I tested it with my USB 3.1 port and had a bench result of 935 MB/s read and 600MB/s write. Actual file transfer speeds had similar results except for rar files where the speed transfer were a bit less. Note: do not expect the full advertised speed if your port is not USB 3.2. I purchased this Vansuny flash drive for $27.99 a few days ago. For this price I feel that the value, quality and performance is a bit expensive but worth it. As of writing this review the price is now $39.99. At this price point I would consider spending $12 more ($51.99) to purchase the 512GB version and get double the storage capacity

I bought this little SSD to run Windows 11 ARM on my Raspberry Pi 5, and it performs even better than expected! It’s so much faster compared to the micro sd on the pi 5 and the high speed flash drive I attempted to use prior to buying this. It does get a little warm, which is to be expected, but its ability to dissipate heat evenly is excellent! It doesn’t get extremely hot like the flash drives tend to do when running an OS. It’s also very handy that one side of the drive is USB-A and the other side is USB-C so you don’t have to use a dongle if you have a computer that doesn’t have USB-C like my pi 5.

Purchased to use with Rekordbox / CDJ and this thing is a machine. Loads gigs of music in a moment. Having both USB-C and A on the stick makes it super versatile. Highly recommend this for DJs.

The fastest usb drive I have ever owned/seen/used ever. I did do some research before purchasing and the info was dead on. Even USB-A this thing is faster than every USB i have ever used. Worth every penny! Does it get a little warm? yes but I dont have it plugged in for any extended period of time anyway so I am not worried about it.
