NERO MANETTI- Zippered Vegan Leather Padfolio/Portfolio Pad Holder-Business PU Leather Notepad Folder for Resumes, Interviews, iPad/Tablet, Phone, Legal Pad Notebook Executive Binder for Women, Men

A few months ago, I had purchased a commercially available padfolio from Target, before I really needed one and knew the attributes I should have. When I got to the point where I needed to have something that offered some storage capability for loose papers, I hunkered down one night for a good hour to invest some time in doing some research here on Amazon. I've had a number of these in the past that were basically a pad and a flap- which was okay, but even with just that, they felt cheap, and didn't last long. This time, I needed to pick a winner. Something that was functional and durable. I browsed through the index of selections, making separate windows for the ones I felt had potential; and then I went through them in detail, one-by-one, looking at the reviews, and analyzing the features. I settled on this Nero Manetti. Being a Prime Customer, I got it, technically, in less than 2 days. BAM! When I picked the box up, I could tell from the weight that it was going to be a substantial accessory. And when I opened it, the box it came in was made better than a couple of the padfolios I had in the past. Just the presentation here is awesome. As for the padfolio itself, the Nero Manetti Zippered Business Portfolio (X001RI6CXJ), I believe, is the BEST one out there at this price-point, and many higher priced ones. You can just tell that this company cares about the product that they are putting out there. The product is made in China (what isn't?). and uses "PU Vegan leather." PU (Poly) Synthetic Leather is a man-made material that mimics the look and feel of Genuine Leather, but, in fact is NOT. Known as Bicast leather (or bi-cast, bycast, or PU leather, and sometimes described as split leather) is a material made with a split leather backing covered with a layer of polyurethane (hence, the term "PU leather") that is applied to the surface and then embossed. It is far less durable, considerably cheaper in cost, and may not last long if used often. That being said, lets put that into perspective. Most padfolios in this price range are made out of vinyl, plastic and bonded leather. The Nero Manetti has done the same, but rendered it in a very high quality way. It certainly won't last a lifetime, but, if well cared for, it's gonna last awhile. The stitching is well-done, it feels good, it looks good, and it just wreaks with quality. Many padfolios out there are just too busy with all of the features they try to cram into their product, and with inferior materials on top of that, they can sometimes be a joke. The Nero Manetti is a little different (designed in Italy), and is more minimalistic, and appeals to someone like me who only needs certain features. Naked, this thing is billed as 13.6" x 10.8" x 1.6", and unfortunately it won't fit into my main EDC bag (but will fit into my 2 secondary bags), which is okay, as it is my intention for it to be a stand-alone accessory. On the outside, on one side is a pocket that runs the length of the padfolio that will comfortably hold up to 25 pages of letter-sized (8.5" X 11") paper. There is a dual-zipper enclosure on the perimeter of this padfolio to close and secure it. Because this is designed for left or right-handers, the orientation can be reversed, with an open-ended letter-sized pad holder. It has 2 pen loops: 1 to the side of the pad, and another over-sized loop in the gutter, that can accommodate 3 writing instruments, but putting only 1 there would be recommended, especially if you carry high-end pens, because they will be in contact with each other. The 'business side' of the padfolio has a number of features. The business card or credit card holder, I am the least excited about, but it is a staple in most. It is just something I don't need and won't use. However, for you salesmen out there, it does have 6 pockets to hold cards (2 columns of 3). There is a larger pocket behind that area; and there is a larger zippered compartment that sits behind that. To the side of that array is an elasticized cell phone holder which should fit most smart phones out there. Behind this entire area is a larger 12" X 6.5" pocket; and behind all of that is the main file pocket of close to 13" X 9", and will easily accommodate file folders (including its tabs) and 70+ sheets of paper. Within that area is a smaller pocket, with a Velcro enclosure, that will hold a 10" tablet, which, if you utilize, will cut-down on the number of pages you'll be able to put in the 'file' portion. What don't I like? Not much. The zippers are okay, and work smoothly, but adding YKK zippers would bump up the quality a bit more. The top of the flap on the 'file' area is a bit flimsy, and I'm thinking that is purposely done for ease of access. But, it would be better if it was sturdier. If this was made in a premium leather (acknowledging that it would have a much higher price tag), with the tweaks that I've suggested, this would, hands-down, be the BEST padfolio on the market. You just can't beat the smell and patina of quality leather. But, even in its current incarnation, it exudes confidence knowing that it stands alone among most of its competition. I highly recommend THIS padfolio. It is a great weapon in your arsenal for organizational strategy. I think it would make an incredible gift, and I wish I could afford to buy a couple more to have on hand to do just that. About 5 years ago I found a wallet that I absolutely love, and is perfect for me, so I bought 2, knowing that things constantly change, and I wanted to have one on-hand. I'm still using the original one. I feel the same about this padfolio. I'm gonna buy another just to keep it on-hand, waiting in the wings for the time it will be called upon for service. So, I’ve been on a kick, trying to find the best business portfolio for the new year! This one just stood out to me. This one was pricier than others I was looking at but, having it in person, the quality is definitely there. The presentation is so nice and it would make a great gift. All the zippers are buttery smooth and I like that it has a double zipper. I was also looking for an organizer that had a side pocket next to the lined paper to insert another binder, which this one does have. Plenty of room for pens, the “cell phone” pocket is stretchy enough to hold my bulky calculator which I love. Plenty of card slots, that also hold my sticky notes. It has a very large laptop/tablet sleeve that holds my Samsung galaxy tablet nicely and it’s in a case. There’s also a lot more space for additional paperwork. With adding all my stuff, it is full but, it still zips closed without a problem. There’s no branding on the outside of the portfolio either which makes it extra sleek and I appreciate that. To be honest, I planned to order a few more different portfolios and return this one since it was more pricey but, I think I’m sold on this one! I’ll update if i have any issues in the near future…

Just received and used for 1 week - I am very pleased at the quality of this folio. The quality build - stitching, material, layout is all great! A few other key mentions; - There is enough pockets to accommodate your needs - tablet pocket under papers pocket, also a separated paper pocket behind notepad - Pen holders are nice as it is always a challenge to get a good pen holding location. It can hold multiple pens, one in center for multiple pens and one by outer zipper that holds one - Roomy enough space for many papers that fit nicely with no concerns of bending edges - Phone pocket is great - fits iPhone Plus with no issue! Snug and not loose nor to tight. - Overall feel and look is great I’m very pleased with this folio. I prefer one that is 100% real leather, however, this looks and feels like a fine leather. You would never know the difference. Now the true test of durability - time and use - will update after several months of daily use.

First of all, this thing looks professional, feels like real leather, and can carry everything you need for your business trip in the MANY pockets it has. It’s lightweight and fits right in a back pack for transport. I got the the light brown one and it’s a great color. Great value for what I paid for it, definitely compares to ones that are two times the price. Feels sturdy, like it will last a while. Get one!
