Just got it, used it and was impressed.
One thing that is good to know (or have) is how to cut them off if you over-torque and cause them to spin, making them useless. Shades of impact driver abuse. The same goes for one detail I never had mentioned, that is, if you have tight tolerances and hold the tool at an angle the threads want to go in at that same angle. OK if you are consistent, not so much if one is 15 degrees off the rest.Prime your holes, the pain can dry later IMHO.The ability to hang a LOT of support off of so small a 'grommet' is truly impressive. I mounted a 2x3 in my van during conversion and the bed I mounted to that is incredibly solid as married to the frame. The handle mounted in the rear doors is almost as if it were welded. Though, I have only a few weeks with it, and not years to compare how long it will last.I got a mixed box of riv-nuts, as I didn't intend to mount half of a house inside. Though there are 100 packs that will meet that need.Make sure to support the tool in use, align it carefully when making the crimp, support it as you unthread the spindle, the only way I can see the tool breaking. I also labelled with tape the metric vs. standard thread tool boxes with tape, even if they are color coded. This one did not come with a carrying case. I cannibalized one I had already. Also worth noting, don't run a 4" screw into a 3.5" space and dimple the exterior of your ride.Best of luck with your projects.

Great product!
I just found out about this product, and rivet nuts. I am very happy about this. The main thing I needed it for was my heat pump, which has a panel covering the filter with about a dozen sheet metal screws holding it. I wore out the holes years ago removing and installing them to change the filter. It should not have been designed this way as they expect you to change the filter often yet provide sheet metal screws which wear the holes rapidly. Anyway, I tried using sheet metal clips for the screws and while they worked for a while, they began getting loose and falling out of the holes when I changed the filter. Enter the rivet nuts! I drilled the holes a little larger and installed the rivet nuts. Now I have machine screws holding the filter panel on my heat pump. Much better for longevity and hold the panel more securely. You need a little room behind the panel for the nut to stick out, but overall this is a MUCH better solution if you have the room. I am super happy with it. The installation tool seems sturdy. It comes with a variety of sizes, metric and American, and swapping out the dies for the various sizes is easy. The rivet nuts it comes with have some kind of golden colored anti-corrosion coating on them and I will need to have the product it the weather for a while before I can comment on the coating.Overall, though, I am extremely happy with the product and can recommend it to anyone who has a sheet metal fastening requirement.

Does the job. May need to Keep E Clips on Hand
***Update**** , I have used this 15 times before the E Clip broke below the spring loaded nut retainer(Or I Hope that is where it came from :) ). Not hard to replace.Original Review * I had to order this twice as the first one that came in had a mandrel with the wrong thread on it.Now that I have the full set I was able to use the 5/16 inserts and they strip out at 20 foot pounds of torque which is plenty so I tighten them to 17 foot pounds. I would recommend.

Husky tool
Be sure to watch a few videos before use and try it out on some scrap metal. I needed the largest Rivet nut (1/2" ) in the set and quickly realized there is a gauge to limit stroke. You must go with small bites on the levers and as the rivet contracts, move the die upward taking another bite. Don't try to do it all with one pull unless the rivet nut is under 1/4".

Works Great
Had loose bolts that connect my 22 year old Jeep Xj's sway bar to the frame and this tool took care of that problem. Was easy to install two nutserts into the frame so I could screw in the bolts to the sway bar. It seems strong enough to trust with holding that big chunk of metal so I'm happy it made for an easy fix. I can also see where this tool can be extremely useful in adding screw points for additional options on any metal chassis or part. Great tool to have in one's tool box.
