Jarrow Formulas Bile Acid Factors might just be the unsung hero of the digestive universe. Before this, my stomach acted like a confused intern—occasionally helpful, often overwhelmed, and always on the verge of filing a complaint. But after adding these conjugated bile acids? Suddenly my gut is running the show like a seasoned manager with a color-coded spreadsheet. Heavy meals? Handled. Greasy foods? Defeated. Random stomach drama? Canceled like a bad sitcom. 20 years ago I had some gall bladder problems when I was pregnant. It was an uncomfortable surprise to learn how painful the gall bladder can be when eating the wrong foods - especially fatty foods like cheese, marbled meat and even drinking alcohol. A hospital visit was how I found out about gall stones. I avoided fatty foods that would trigger the extreme discomfort with quite a bit of success. Now in my late 50's, I decided to lose some weight to keep all my numbers on the healthy side. I eat healthy choices and felt that I could lose weight pretty successfully if I adjusted my portions and would try intermittent fasting. I began to listen to hypnosis clips for weightloss ( this one is one of my favorites and got me started on weight loss: [...]) that I found free on the internet. They worked well - I had noticeable decrease in my cravings and was uninterested in eating for longer periods of time. I found that "intermittent fasting" was working and I dropped 8 pounds pretty quickly. HOWEVER. However, I began to experience gall bladder pain once again. It felt like fat was being dumped into my system and those old feelings of nausea and feeling toxic levels of fat overwhelming my gall bladder were again present. I read up on fatty liver and gall stones and other articles about fat metabolism and de fatting a body... and it pointed to bile salts. This particular product was mentioned a couple of times in some articles so i cam to Amazon to find it. I purchased this product and am COMPLETELY SATISFIED with what it does for me. Because I normally do not eat fatty food, I do not take the pills during meal times. I find that if I go to sleep while doing an intermittent fast, that sometimes I will wake up with an achy gall bladder feeling. I take one or two pills depending upon my level of discomfort with a good quantity of water and I am usually back to being comfortable and ache free in under 40 minutes. I went from dreading losing body fat to feeling fairly certain that taking this supplement will work each time I need to take it. It will prove out over time, is my feeling. But so far, so good! I have read several articles that say if a dose is taken every night before bed, that there is a possibility of eliminating stones for good as the bile acids emulsify the hardened cholesterol deposits that form the stones. I am leaning towards that course of dosing after I lose the rest of the weight while keeping gall aches and attacks under control. Another thing that pointed me in this direction: I read where very rapid weight loss (like people using lap bands or other weight loss surgery) would have severe gall bladder complications during the fat loss... some even leading to gall bladder removal. Which I would like to avoid, personally. This stuff works. I am not sure how/if it will affect the results of my next lab panels, but I for sure know the weight loss I am achieving will help boost my numbers in a healthier way.

I was experiencing some gut issue with feeling full all the time. It was so bad that I felt I would pop if you stick my stomach with a pin. I was researching Kybella which took me down a road of researching bile and found it was good to aid digestion by breaking down fatty acid so I decided to try this after reading some reviews. I started slow with two pills and didn’t feel any different so I up to 3 and barely experienced any changes. I then went to 4 pills & holy cow, I was living in my bathroom, it didn’t matter if I took this before or after a meal. I felt better though I wasn’t and haven’t experienced constipation since being a child, I’m very regular. I found it helped my bloating but didn’t get rid of it, I’m just not as bloated anymore and can go days without using this. However, whenever I feel the excessive bloating, I take these and it help. I’m now thinking I just have food intolerance that’s causing the bloating but at least this helps me until I can fully figure out the trigger.

I unfortunately had my GB removed about 10 yrs ago. Ever since, I have struggled with the curse of a dismembered digestive tract, without any Dr's help. I had been using another bovine bile salt supplement in a pressed tablet form for a few years, with some success. I decided to switch and try Jarrow, these are SO MUCH more effective and easier to take. Most meals with fats or meat I only need 2 capsules, and pleasant dining without any discomfort or problems later on. Wonderful! These truly are a lifesaver when nothing else has helped!

My mom suggested these bile salt supplements to support better fat absorption and to help your gallbladder if you are predisposed to forming gall stones. In her family all of her sisters had their gallbladder removed and she was also starting to have issues. But she did not want to remove her gallbladder because it's really important that you keep it if you can. As a 40 year old woman, I started to notice that I was not absorbing dietary fat well, especially eating high fat foods and I was having IBS like symptomes. With my mom's suggestion I ordered these bile salts and they really made a difference! They are very strong so on days that I am not going to eat a high fat containing meal I only take one pill in the morning on an empty stomach. I will take a pill with a fatty meal if needed. Take too many pills and you will have really bad diarrhea and stomach cramps because too much bile will have that effect. I have definitely have had better bowel movements and I can tell that my body is absorbing the fat because if there is not enough bile, your stools will float. I have also experienced less gas and bloating after meals. An extra bonus is that I am also losing weight without really trying, which is a win win for me. Highly recommend!

this product works well, be careful and drink lots of liquid otherwise it will burn your throat very badly to the point that you cannot breathe.

I have gallstones. I don't want to get surgery. I did a bit of research and found this. IT WORKS. I tested it a couple of times just to make sure. I ate a variety of foods, some of them pretty fatty. I took three capsules each time. I never had an issue. The last time I really went all out, I ate two full racks of baby-back ribs (I fasted all day to make room). I took one pill before the first rack, one after the first rack, and one after the second. I had no issues at all. Before these pills, this would have absolutely murdered me. Maybe put me in the hospital. It's happened before. These pills will even stop a gallbladder attack in progress. I once ate a terribly fatty dinner, forgot to take these, then wet to bed. I woke up at 3:00 AM in terrible pain. I took three of these and I was back in bed by 4:00 AM with no pain. I am told this is because when my body gets its bile acids from these pills, it can stop squeezing my gallstones/gallbladder trying to get bile from there and causing pain. Having said that, I have not been taking these long; only a month or so. I have been told that if I keep it up, my gallstones will eventually dissolve on their own, as the bile acids in these pills will stop additional cholesterol from making their way into my gallbladder. I will report back if they do end up gone.

I found an empty envelope on my doorstep. I was home that day and went to the front door to find a white envelope that did not have the supplemental Bile Acid inside. I sent an email when I discovered this. A few days later, someone wrote back to tell me that Amazon was responsible for the lost product. I went online to try to contact Amazon. Every inquiry regarding Jarrow products needs to be directed at this company not Amazon who is not responsible for lost items. I tried to contact Jarrow again and have not heard back from them. I guess I need to assume they are either a fraudulent business or they do not care about their customers. I lost my money and will not order from them anymore.

With 3 gallstones I researched the most effective bile salts to improve my digestion. I am back on a full fat diet ketogenic. I eat OMAD and take 2 x 250g before my main meal. Excellent results. No after taste and no diarrhea. Will be using these for 6 months now. Very happy with this product.
