Step2 573099 Front Pick Up Claws and e for, Green

I used this same step2 claws for 15 years until someone stole it 5 years ago. Tried to buy several times over the years but Step2 discontinued it. Been buying other brands and they don't last over 1 year. None of them. They are too light weight! Wow its back!! I do 2 hours a week on my 3/4 acre property once a week. 10+ redwoods etc. This tool is rugged and Im not gentle with it. Made to last. You wont be disappointed. I bought 2 just incase they decide to discontinue it again. Honestly I would have paid $100 for it. Lol. That's how much I like it.Well 2 years later. These are not as good quality as they where 20 years ago. The plastic material is much thinner and will collapse if you squeeze to hard. Very sad as these where rock solid and very strong. Why cheap and thin on plastic material? Sad. I will drill a couple small holes and fill with expand foam to make ridged.

I was so impressed with this item that I brought it to a ROMEO's (Retired Old Men Eating Out) breakfast as a "show and tell" prop. I told them that this was my best purchase of the year. It is multi-functional. It can be used to pick up elephant poop, large Great Dane dung, or used by a certain religious group to pick up severed heads. Someone suggested that if it is placed upside down it could be used as a portable stool. I suggested that the person sitting on it should not weigh more than 20 pounds.I used it to pick up 10 barrels of leaves this afternoon. I did not have to perform the equivalent of touching my toes to pick up leaves even once. Great for people with bad backs, bad hips, or bad knees. I love it.

Works well as expected. Feels delicate so I am careful so it doesn’t fall apart. I like how well it works.

Works fine. Problem I have with this product is the handles are not long enough. Being 6'3" I have to bend over to pick up the yard trash. Other than that they work fine.

The handles bent and collapsed the first time I tried to pick up a pile of pine needles. It may be good for leaves only but nothing more substantial. Be very gentle when scooping leaves or the handle will bend. Returned for refund.

For the money you spend, you expect the item to last you a little longer than this....really. It did not come apart, but it is bent already, and hardly picking up leaves and papers. Although easy to use and the light weight makes it easy to carry, but I expected more.

Love these. Saves your back. Would buy more but they don’t make anymore.

I've got 15 acres of Sagebrush, wild grass, and pine trees. I've been doing most of my leaf and pine needle work for years with a good pitchfork. I visiting my in-laws and helping with the yard work. They had no pitchfork, but one of these. I thought... "dam that's hokey but better than using my hands or trying to use the leaf rake to pick stuff up". Boy was I wrong. These things worked great. They take a big scoop compressing the vegetation and dropping very little without bending over too much. Wish I had discovered them sooner.
