Much better than other reviews would make you believe
It was kind of tricky picking a cheap lawnmower as reviews seem mixed for all of them in the £80-150 range. I have cut the grass once now with this, grass was long too on a not quite smooth lawn. The mower did the job well. People have mentioned about it not collecting all of the grass it cuts, and I agree on first pass not all grass had been collected (maybe 10% left behind) but then on second pass it's collected all of the remaining bits. The lawnmower is not particularly loud, and was easy to assemble and folds down easily. I agree with the comments about the structural quality. This mower is noticeably flimsier feeling that the old Flymo mowers, but let's be honest it's £100, you have to expect some flex in the plastic. It doesn't however feel like it's going to break or crack, and it makes it quite light in weight. All in all this is a good lawnmower for the price, doing what you buy it for: cutting the grass acceptability and collecting the cuttings for you.

Very disappointing
Not as sturdy as my old Easy glide . I had for years . Till the motor went on it . This Flymo is lighter ( which is good ) . The grass cut isn’t as short . Not a neat cut . Misses bits . Really difficult to get the bolt off the blade to put the spacers in , it was stuck , did it in the end . Handles are easy to assemble . Really bad vibration in your hands and arms when the mower is in use and you are cutting the grass . Will see how it goes next time I use it . Wasn’t what I was expecting from a Flymo . Also trying to fold the handles down is actually impossible . You have to wedge one handle in place then do the other one . Not impressed at all . Not worth the money I paid for it .

Build quality not great
Bought as a replacement for the equivalent model I had for over 15 years. This one works fine and made short work of the lawn which was really overgrown. Build quality isn’t the same as it was though and I doubt that it will last anywhere near as long as the last one.

5 Star performance but poor design and Flymo learns nothing from its customer reviews
I bought this item to replace a 14 year old Flymo which had reached end of life. I read reviews of this mower and learned that the blade could be overtight and impossible to undo on delivery and the handle is very difficult to collapse. I found both of these problems to be true However thanks to another reviewer who said put the plastic spanner on the blade nut and tap it with a hammer, I followed his advice and after a lot of tapping I was successful in loosening the blade nut. As regards the handle you need to squash the sides together in order to collapse it however I had to put a small wooden wedge in the slot on one side and then do the same to the other in order to collapse the entire handle otherwise you cannot hold the handle in the correct position to do the collapse. This is a pretty stupid idea and the difficulty is again highlighted in Amazon customer reviews. It is just that Flymo obviously takes no interest in these reviews. If you want to collapse the handle at the other rotation place, you have to loosen the holding nuts so far that they fall of before you can pull the upper part far enough apart to collapse the handle in this way another poor design point. However when you start using the mower and forget the handle troubles it works very well (although not all reviewers agree on this).

Lightweight version of a flymo
Easy to put together light on the back a lot lighter than our old metal flymo. Only draw back is that the collector needs constantly emptying.
